Hi Everyone,
The company that i work just upgraded my company phone. I got a HD7 Mozart on Orange (UK).
I've had the phone 4 hours and already i want to know :
1. Can I / How do I unlock it from Orange?
2. Can I flash it with a stock ROM to remove the Orange bastardisations?
Many thanks
Dave
HTC 7 Mozart is a different phone from the HD7. You may want to post this in the Mozart area.

Thanks for the reply.
I did a search for HD7 Mozart and it only came up with the HD7 forum! (or maybe i didn't look far enough down the list )
I will re-post in the correct forum.
Cheers, Everyone.

I guess you should be looking for HTC mozart, HD7 and mozart are two completely different phones
Also, you can unlock your phone, you need to contact orange and get an unlock code, Mozart has custom roms, you can unbrand it using a gold card or something

hi all
I am a bit confused ( dont take much these days) is the HTC TYTN II the Kaiser, as they look very similar and when i google it thats what i find..
also as anyone got one recently from t-mobile as i am due a upgrade and how much did they pay for it.
Cheers for the help
Neel
Yes the Kaiser was renamed the TyTN II. Not sure about your second question.
HTC Kaiser / HTC TyTn II / T-Mobile Vario III = all the same thing
(except the Vario looks cheap and nasty)
T-Mobile is a worldwide company and people from across that world read this forum. Which T-mobile are you talking about?
I'm referring to the UK variant.

Sorry, that wasn't directed at you, but at the OP.
i am in the UK
As far as I know Kaiser is/was the name given by HTC during the development of the device. It is now sold as the HTC Tytn II. TMobile UK are selling/will be selling this as the MDAvario III. Vodaphone UK will also carry this device as V165 or something similar. All of these devices are manufactured by HTC. Most providers will have their own customised ROM installed. Currently we are unable to CID unlock these devices and so we are stuck with default provider ROMs. Eventually I am sure Pof or some other genius on here will work out how to CID unlock them and then the fun begins with our own customised ROMs.
Yep they are all Kaisers = generic name for all of them
TyTn II is the one sold under the HTC name and then as said above you have all the other variants as well.

I returned my orange HTC diamond as the coverage was rubbish back to the store and my vodafone HTC diamond arrived. I can confirm it comes with a case. And it does not look to bad. How long should I charge it for?
what ROMs?
what rom version are on the vodafone version, I have a orange one and the batterys crap and I am having problems getting HTC and orange to get a new rom

I am just charging it right now, but once done I will post the rom version.
I got a VF one, first thing I did was flash to the HTC OEM version, the VF one is slow as hell, what would be useful though is to get the SAT app back, although not desperate for it as I have TT7 now which is excellent. VF really know how to screw a ROM up, they did the same to the TYTN one.
I actually lashed my orange one with the euro rom and found it pants, this voda rom is not so bad, except for the colour. PLus side it is unlocked. Right my rom and radio are as follows:
ROM 1.37.161.2WWE
ROM DATE 06/26/08
RADIO 1.00.25.03
PRROTOCOL 52.26A.25.09U
Orange Diamond
I got mine from Orange yesterday. i too have noticed the poor 35 coverage - the device is most of the times in G mode.
although it's Orange branded , i got it through Phones4U. So at least it doesn't have the Orange usual crap colorings and themes. (it looks exactly as the usual HTC stuff).
because i'm horribly new to this diamond stuff, i still don't know whether the rom is original HTC or Orange version. Could anyone confirm if his Orange rom version is different from the one in my signature? thanks.
at least i'm still in the 7-day cooling off period and can return.
The orange rom is the generic rom, I got mine from phones 4u also. Orange were not able to tango the rom in a rush to get ot out. Though the store demo ones I saw are tangoes.

Also if you upgrade you radio to .05 version you will see an improvement. I spent money unlocking mine to return it oh well. As I travel a lot and in my office there was no reception.

interesting. thanks.
i've also spent money on unlocking. i donated $55 to xda yesterday b4 3pm, it's now past 10 a.m. & have not received the unlock code yet
Is the vodafone HTC diamond really UNlocked? that could decide it on whether i upgrade with Orange or go to Vodafone? Also, has anyone compared Orange Diamond to Voda Diamond in terms of responsiveness etc...?
Thanks
anyone has the vodafone uk rom?
I have flashed my diamond before dumped it.
Nice to have it as backup.
Thank you.
Vodafone UK Rom
I have a brand new Vodafone HTC Diamond. I do not like the white-red looks, I'd rather have the black one.
But wouldn't flashing the rom invalidate my 2 year warranty?
I have found the dump.arj (Vodaphone rom dump), though not sure how to put it back to my phone if I need to... Instructions provided in that thread were confusing, but they become more clear once I have managed to download the kitchen (currently unavailable )
And then - which new rom is the best for UK (has most bug fixes and best performance)?
Sorry for my ignorance but this is the first try to flash any roms... I would be really grateful for some hints/advice
Hey gang.
As the title of this thread reads: Is the bootloader in the German Vodafone Nexus One unlockable, just like the Nexus One you order from Google.com, or is the Vodafone version locked down to prevent people from rooting?
Oh, and I tried a quick search but I could not find any info on the subject, other than that the UK version of the Vodafone Nexus One is unlockable.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
I would imagine that it should be possible.
But i have a question for you as i live in australia and roumor has it that vodafone has the rights to sell the nexus one here.
Do vodafone put their logo anywhere on the nexus one? Like above the screen? or does it only have Google and HTC on the back?
Thanks

Based on http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-phone/google-nexus-one?phoneView=ImageGallery , it looks like it comes without any additional branding.
AFAIK, there's no way to "software lock" the bootloader of Nexus One further than it is.
it is the same unmodified phone, no difference to the us or uk version apart from the build number.

we have a couple of em unlocked on a german android forums!
dear Forum
I am living in Switzerland, and i got from a US friend his "old" TP2 because he bought the new i-phone...
now i am here in Europe and can't use it because it only accepts T-Mobile SIM cards (which we don't have in Switzerland).
Moreover i am travelling quite often because of my profession and i'm usually buying local SIM's....
Does anyone know if there is a ROM which unlocks this device?
would be great if this also contains TomTom or CoPilot navigation as i own those licences arelady frommy previous device.
As I know there are two versions of TP2:
- the "normal" HTC
- the T-mobile version which got brownish color and lacks a front cam....
my question is specifically about the brownish T-mobile version.
thanks for your help

There is no ROM that will unlock your phone for you. You have to either call T-Mobile and get them to unlock the phone for you or ask your friend to call T-Mobile for the unlock code, OR you can pay to have it unlocked by providing the IMEI number to someone who knows how to unlock it. Also, ROMs generally do not come cooked with TomTom or CoPilot, so you'd have to install those separately. I'm sure if you looked around you could find the cab files to install them.
that's interesting... my old diamond came with simlock from a local carrier... after flashing it with an open ROM, the simlock was gone...
that's why I am asking if there is simlock-free ROM for this specific type of TP2...
for the "normal" one i saw plenty ROM's but because of the differences i am sceptic if they would work.
thx for ur hints
You don't need a ROM, you need to SIM-unlock your device. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555339
Heya folks, sorry if there is a post semi like this one, i honestly did search and didnt see anything remotely the same..
ordered my HD7 and it's arriving monday, but when i was browsing this site i noticed a lot of posts are about tmobile versions of the updates.. i was just wondering,
does the phone not get generic updates due it been on tmobile?
because the phone is unlocked and is stated to be region free.. if i update firmware will it be likely to lock again? (i use o2 UK)
if it will lock, how do i prevent/unlock again/unlock permanently?
Thanks in advance, sorry if these are "nooby" questions, first windows phone and first phone from america..
