Hello guys,
Anyone running Win7 beta? I tried both 32 and 64-bit and I cannot synchronize... I always get an error, but Windows will not give me any details on it -or an error code to go on with. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device, but haven't succeeded...
Any help much appreciated!
T
Download Windows mobile device center for vista on the microsoft site
Works for me
Good luck

That's what I'm running - in fact, Win7 downloads it automatically.
Here's what I'm getting:
Hi, I had kinda same problem. I got a message in windows help, saying that i had to start command in "admin mode", and then type:
reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions /va /f
When I did that, and started Win Mobile Device Center all worked perfect..
I uninstalled Windows Mobile Device Centre and then installed the downloaded one and works a treat now.
Remember guys Win7 is beta so share your findings with Microsoft
i can connect with bluetooth but not usb in win7, but i still sync with vista.

Hm, thanks for the tip... I googled it and it seems a catch-all fix of some sorts.
In my case, the suggested key was empty. So, you can guess, it didn't work
Thanks nevertheless!
Guys, thanks for the info above, saved me a pile of time!
So... am I the only one? With two different installations of Win7 and two different ROMs it surely sounds strange...
had the same problems with win7
..then i unchecked the "faster synchronisation" option in diamonds "USB to PC " setting.
(The checkbox below "acitive sync synchronisation with outlook")
I´m using the german ROM, so the menu description might sound slightly different to what i posted ;-)
I always have this off, since it has never worked for me on any machine (either for my previous TyTNII or the Diamond). So It's been unchecked the whole time. The problem is that ActiveSync DOES recognize the device, it initiates the sync procedure and then craps out
strange
..i´m running win7 on 2 machines and the active sync stuff works without problems..
running latest udK Syrius GER ROM
Hi Super Developers, I have a problem when I try to upgrade my Wizard through the exec file ROMUpdateUtility MFC which crash with Windows Vista Enterprise, the error (windows popup): "ROMUpdateUtility MFC Application has stopped working", I did try to set the compatibility running like Windows XP or Windows 2000, but this error still occurs.
Please could you give me some advice about it.
Thanks a lot, Ulises.
Same problem
I know this is an old thread, and I know it's now 2011... But I'm trying to experiment with an htc i just found. Both the button_rom and the alternate rom tool crash as soon as it puts the phone in RUU mode. Every single time. Any suggestions?
hello people,
i've installed windows xp sp2 with a step by step guide on xda (this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436982) without problems.
At the end, when we have to install wlan drivers, i've noticed that marvell sdio sd8686 appear in the hardware list but there is also a yellow ! on this hardware with the error code number 10, windows cannot start hardware.
I've tried with some other drivers that i found on internet but with the same results. Someone can help me?

Hi en_ky!
I was following the other installation method "Installing Windows XP with Windows Post Install (WPI)" that you can find on this forum, but basically should be the same.
Anyway, regarding WLAN on the WPI method it says:
"13. WLAN: Drivers are copied to c:\wlandrivers, install from there when you are asked for them later". This step is just before installing CYGWIN
After finishing with SwapResolution,
"Now it usually asks about the WLAN drivers, see step nr. 13."
"If it asks about drivers for Windows Mobile, just answer yes until it finishes."
"To get Wifi working, you have to copy the "copy HTC Shift XP Drivers\WLAN\sdbus.sys to c:\windows\system32\drivers\ say yes to the replace dialog and reboot."
"DO THIS IN SAFE MODE ONLY. This is how I got mine to work. I had the same problem with the yellow and not working wifi code 10 in the device manager."
"If you copy this without being in safe mode, it will not work because after the reboot the system will replace the overridden version with the old one again."
So check again all the steps and do the last one in Safe Mode (I think here is your problem)!
Good luck!
thank you for your reply,
I tried to resolve my problem with help of windows update and an eterneth connection for internet. At first it doesn't start with the same yellow ! But after a restart, it starts!!!!
Many thanks to you in any case; i know that your answer will be usefull for another person with this problem!
Hi everyone!
I have been constantly searching the forums and Google, and everything talks about HARD_SPL and WMC or WinXP.
Obviously that does not help with Windows 7. Is there any way to HARD_SPL with W7?
Best would be with SD Card, but after reading this forum very carefully, I think no one has figured out how to do that.
Any ideas?
You just have to use Windows Mobile Device Center. Hard-SPL installation works great on both win7 x86 and win7 x64.
