[Q] appliction icon missing - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
1.I want to know today when i check the applications about 3 applications are missing, and when i try to re-install, the system says its allready installed, how i can recover their icons?
2. what is the max. physical or virtual limit of how much applications i can installed?
thx

You can try with root explorer to delete them properly.
Look at this location's (but be carefull, make an backup):
/system/app
/data/app
If you see this applications at this location, try to delete them and install the apps again...
Good Luck!

Install Multiple apk automatically

Is there anyone know there's an app on market that helps installing all the apk automatically? like there is an option 'select all' the backup apps then you don have to go install them 1 by 1 manually
Yeah, that would be great to have, closer thing AFAIK would be Titanium Backup
More or less what Appbrain and Appbrain fast web install is supposed to do.
Nokia had a program that did just what you wanted .
Copy programs to a folder tick box and it carried out multiple install .
Nearest i have come is manual install of APK for Android .

It's probably a safety feature to stop apps from installing themselves without permission. I suspect titanium manages it because it has root permission.
See this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970348 an app for this has been made.
is there any application to install apks manually?
Save APK in a folder on phone and manually install each one .

i user appasst it scans the SD card for all apk files and u can tick the ones u want and say install. alot quicker than one by one.
u can even make it only scan one folder.
It can take a while before they show up but will work eventually.

I guess this happened (aplications missing) after a reboot right?
ya after re-boot its gone, what should i do?
i think theres is a bug with zipalign ang cant handle some apps. This is also happening to me for some big apps like aiattack and asphalt.I solved the problem by disabling zipalign script from running in the boot.Go to /etch/init.d/ and remove the script zipalign.Sometimes this can also happen with apps that are stored to sd card,so you have to move them to the phone memory.Press thanks if this helps you.
First you have to re install the apps
any easily way to remove zipalign?

[Q] Reinstalling removed stock apps

Hello,
Please, can someone try to explain me next:
I removed few stock apps from system with root explorer. Before that, icons of those removed app were placed in folder System Applications. After a while I wanted to reinstall some of removed apps back by moving back apk file to system/app. Everything went fine. App is working again but app's icon is now placed in Downloads folder? How can I manage this to get this icon in original folder again, to System Applications?
Cheers

[Q] Can't remove completely application

Hi! I've uninstalled some applications but I can remove them completely.
When I go to "Settings" "Applications" "Manage" I keep getting this apps:
com.allrecipes.spinner.free
com.keramidas.tinaniumbackup
com.popcap.pvz_row
They all have 0.00kb of space. When I try to remove, it allows me. But when I've restart the phone, the same applications are there again.
Can anybody help me by telling me what can I do to remove them?
Thanks!
You got root ?
If you do
Download root explorer
And then go to system-->app
Dont forget to mount to R/W
(There is a botton at the top)
Then press long press on the app you want to uninstall, delete it.
Reboot the phone
And there you go .. you deleted the app you wanted

Hi! I've got root. But i'va looked at that folder and didn't find the files corresponding to the app I want to remove. They're still at the aplication manager :\
I've first removed some of the applications using titanium backup, but now, i've searched with root manager, and can't find any files with that name, buy they are @ the application manager.

[Q] How to Uninstall Stock Apps using Root Explorer

But since i updated to lollipop and install back root explorer, it seems like something has changed.
Previously i just need to go system > app > then it will appear full list of item installed on my phone.
Now when i entering it showing list of folder only, in the folder it just an apk only...

You can just delete those folders.

But also priv-apps
