Hi All
I have a milestone that comes originally with the Arabia Stock Eclair, the phone has arabic letters printed on its hardware keyboard and i can toggle the language using a dedicated button marked as [key 229] in the [sholesp2a-keypad.kl] file inside [usr/keylayout].
i have checked the files responsible for hardware keyboard mapping in different ROMS and sbf files, they are almost identical, the only difference is in the build.prob and default.prob files, when i tried importing the files and applying them to different ROMS all my hardware keys including the capacitive touch controls did not respond.
Now to my question....
how can use this to make my hardware keyboard change language using customized ROMS ???
PS. sry if the explanation isnt clear, and am thankful to any possible help.
I have same your problem ..
so did you find the solution..?
i am still waiting for the solution from the developer here..

Hi, before I make my decisions to buy a X1, I need to make sure if the X1's hardware keyboard layout can be changed to Korean.
I read a thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446449 where it says change of layout is possible by editing the keyboard reg.
I would really appreciate if someone can try and see if Korean keyboard layout works by editing the reg to 412.
Thanks in advance,
can anyone help? will changing the registry give Korean keyboard on x1? or should i flash it to korean rom?

Dont know if my commnet will help you at all.
I bought my X1 in Korea, so there are hangul Characters on the Keyboard, flashed with a german ROM, edited the Registry to english Keyboard and all is fine.
Dears:
I am trying to retain the arabic keyboard layout from the original ROM because I waited long time to buy the arabic device. Then when we started the upgrading, it's all gone.
I found accidently the following cab file in the windows folder of the original WM6.1 ROM. So I figured if I install it on WM6.5 customs roms it will re-enable the arabic keyboard, or so I thought.
Anyone can offer help on how to have the arabic keyboard working and see whether this file is of real use or not? thanks.
Samer.
can you find "Bulgarian Phonetic" keyboard layout ?
10x
ok, so no one can answer, let me now rephrase the question maybe it becomes simpler.
If you have an official NBH for your TP2 device which comes defenetly with special files and settings to activate non-english characters (in my case arabic), how can I find these files and settings and extract them from the NBH file?

Thank you for your concern. This discussion is about remapping the main keys to a different language. What I am looking for are the suplemtnatry keys which are activated after pressing the mail key as it has a symbol of switch language.
So in other words, I have 2 languages on my keyboard, english and arabic, and there is a key that changes the complete keyboard to arabic or vice versa dynamically.
I am hoping to find a solution for that
In short.
How can you pull Keyboard files from a specific rom so I can use it one another rom?
To be more specific.
The N1 has been released in Korea, and the ROM file has been uploaded here hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=722281 (I'm not allowed to post url links yet)
As I have a T-MO nexus one, the only thing that I would like to extract from this rom is the additional "한글 키보드" i.e., Korean keyboard, because I think it is the only keyboard right now that has both Korean / English dictionary, thus being the only keyboard that has the ability to "show suggestions" in both languages. There are quite a few Korean keyboards in the market, but I think the korean keyboard pre-installed in the rom of the N1 Korea release is the only one which has this capability.
Thanks in advance!
Hello.
I recently bought a Captivate for my dad and realized there were no Asian/Arabic roms like the ones for the i9000 and couldn't return it unfortunately, but was wondering if there was some way to get the Arabic language working on the Captivate.
I did however notice there were many posts about installing i9000 firmwares on the captivate but seemed to have run into many issues such as the buttons etc. The most recently i9000 arabic firmware is I9000JPJPG.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

i Suffer The same Problem
Almost 20 different captivate ROMs, but none support any Arabic, Hebrew or Farsi. The only thing you can probably do is flash one of the arabic patches that updates the libs for the i9000 on the Captivate. I don't have the device any more but that's what I would do for experiment purposes. However, it's quite risky therefore you have been warned.
I found this on the Galaxy S forums, it seems there is a new update that allows arabic on ANY Android (2.1+) deoxed ROM to be able to see proper connected arabic letters.

Persian font
I know cm7 supports persian font properly.
Hi all!
My keyboard (stock v10b ROM) refuse to show me the lovely char ' (apostrophe) with other chars in the place of it (accents).
Little google session give me the result: messed up keyboard layout, with us US Layout insted Italian.
Language and Keyboard language are on Italian.. and I expect Italian keyboard.. but no way.
Google say me that some HTC Users experience a similar issue.. with a messed up keyboard layout after a ROM upgrade, but I don't know if the same solution can be applied (push italian layout on system/usr/keylayout
Someone experience this issue?
