[Q] Difference Between Phiremod 6 & CM7? - Nook Color General

I've been following these threads for a while now but haven't really found a comprehensive explaination. Could someone kindly explain the differences. Are they pretty much the same, with cosmetic "enhancements" and more apps in Phiremod? Or are there performance and functionallity differences?
Thank you for your patience with this noob!

Phiremod is nothing more than cosmetics with apps preinstalled. Performance and stability will be the same.

CyanogenMod RC4 !
I second that!!!
It depends on what you mean by best. There is nothing working perfect as of date. There are a few niggles in all of them, but they are all usable.
For good battery life try cronos 1.5. All of Dexter's mods are great, motomiui, motofroyosense 0.25v. And as already mentioned, there is CyanogenMod
i'm using miui. nice ui and very fast
CM4M

[Q] CM7, Phiremod and Tablet Tweaks

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, with an obvious answer.
I'm running Phiremod 5.3 on my Nook and was about to update to Phiremod v6, when I saw Mad-murdocks Tablet Tweak-thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002000)
I got confused - is Mad-Murdocks Tablet Tweaks part of Phiremod?
I looked around in the various posts and threads, but didn't really fine the definite answer.
Please, will someone enlighten me?
The tablet tweaks are included in phiremod v6 (and the latest cm7
;-)
And it's very snazzy.
Short answer is NO

Tablet tweeks is a part of CyanogenMod. Phiremod is based on CM7 so it includes the tweeks.
I haven't looked at Phiremod but are there still icons and functions for phones on there? Since we don't have 3g, a camera, sms or a phone or any of those things I am wondering if anyone has gotten around to removing them. Looking at CM7 39 cell stand by is number 2 battery waster for my non phone. I know there are people who say there are ways to remove cell standby but they don't work when I try them.
I don't remember which thread I saw it in, but people have had major issues when trying to remove the phone app and a few others.
Thanks, Jason. That would make sense. I just read that one of the changes to Phiremod was remove the camera and sms. I think in time everything will get fixed. I don't know how to do any of it so I am not complain just asking.

Thanks for all the replies!
Phiremod is very very nice. Been using it for four days and things keep getting better for the Nookie! These mods are very well done, and i love this one. It is very smooth, and i haven't overclocked it at all.
-2 cents

[Q][REQ] Memory Performance Tweaks

My friend has a D2X and installed the mod/app in the thread below and it legit "supercharged" the phone. He saw some very significant boosts in speed in all the apps, pretty much zero lag, etc.
If any Dev thinks this would be a fun project for the Revo, by all means do it...i'm sure it would be greatly appreciated.

NOTE: I do know that it is based on Gingerbread in that thread, if it would be better to wait on this until we have GB(via the man, the myth, the legend, thecubed, most likely ), that's understandable.

Looks like memory reallocations. Interesting. A lot could go wrong there, but it's worth a backup and a trial run.
Gained Memory and Increased Performance
I installed Launcher Pro and instantly went from 88M available memory (with LG home) to 212M available memory. Also Cache Cleaner NG helps much.

[Q] CM7 compared to Peter Alfonso

Hi all,
Could someone please help me out with the differences between these two, particularly in terms of:
What features I will gain from CM7 over the virtually stock Peter Alfonso
Stability differences
Speed Differences
Visual Differences
Anything else worth considering
Not particularly looking for a "which is best" as I am sure they both have their markets, but more of a comparison on what is included/missing in each rom.
Cheers,
MIchael
Why don't u just flash them and see for your self???
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
What is "peter alfonso"?

Peter's Rom is pretty awesome, however there is no way to use A2SD with it. That is a deal breaker for me. As far as CM7 goes, it basically contains every new, cutting edge option available. It is totally customizeable, fast ,stable , and has great battery life. I always end up coming back to CM even though I try almost every non sense Rom out there. The only other 2 I really like are Oxygen1 and SuperOSR, both are as good as CM. If Peter ever gets A2SD that could be stiff competition as it is very fast, stable, and smooth.

ROM Question

Hey there,
Not exactly a rookie here, but with all the different ROMS to flash, is there a consolidated resource as to stability and features/functions?
What works the best and why? I'm looking to do some exploring, but don't want to chase chickens finding something i like.
Thanks for any insight.

I would like to know the same thing so far I notice with some roms they don't have all the main key features which would include, speed, battery life, camera quality, sound quality, customization etc. Usually they have a couple or the other but not all. Any insights would be great.
