[Q] Overall Thickness of LG O2x - LG Optimus 2x

In the specs for the LG optimus 2x it says the thickness is 10.9mm but i'm wondering if that includes the back camera or not? Because it sticks out abit

Universal 13mm Wide-Angle/0.67X Macro Lens Attachment

Do yall think this:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14953
would fit onto the DINC?
If anyone has used a macro lens with the camera, how good was it?
What macro lens do you use?
etc.
I have this, ive been very impressed for only $11. Shipping took quite some time but I wasn't very concerned. If you keep the wide angle attachment on it's to heavy to stay on. I didn't purchase for this so no worries.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Cool! Does it fit well on the camera and does it get in the way of the flash at all?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App

Post some pictures in here after you get it!

Please post some pics. I am dying to find out how well it works. I need to replace my camera ring and lens cover and if I plan on getting this I want to do a little mod to my camera ring so that the magnet will stick to the ring without and external mods. Because if I am not mistaken the ring we have now is aluminum and we need to apply a ring around the camera so that the lens stays on with the use of magnets. Then again i might not know what I am talking about! But thats the way I think it work after looking into it a few days ago.

actually i ment to say i got the fisheye version... can't wait to check it out.. btw whats the diameter of the lens ring on our d.inc phones? i got the 15mm, seen a video a guy tested both out. the 13 had blur on the outer edges and the 15 was completly crisp.. and yeah as soon as i get mine i'll send in some pics and a video, i mostly got this lens for video.. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.39814
I've gotten things relatively fast from DXT, (DSLite case, it's awesome :3) hopefully one of yall can post a few pictures soon.

I really do not see much difference in this and the one I took. I used Camera360 and it was free.
sorry for the mix up.. 15mm version is the one i got.. i forgot to check if the magnet grabs the metal lens on the phone before i attached the metal ring.. wish i checked first.. either way it works good.. i notice no decrease in quality in the shots...

I made a DIY macro lens using the lens from a disposable camera (and made a taser out of the rest of it - super fun!).
Takes GREAT pictures.

Nope..Sadly, the LG Optimus Black doesn't have Gorilla glass on.
Well that doesn't mean that it's not good, just take extra care of the screen..that's all

So you know better? You're telling me that Corning is lying on their website?
You're comparing it only "by the look"? LOL
Take an iron nail, scratch them both and then compare. Maybe then I'll believe you...
You know better? Prove it!
This is really confusing me. Corning said the OB has gorilla glass. But my OB's screen is showing some thin scrapes when tilted.

Are you sure it's scrapes? Just ask because I realized the "scrapes" on my OB change direction when polishing the display in another direction (= it's just touchscreen dirt).

Yes man they are lying
I touch my N8 screen, then i touch LG Optimus Black screen..
OB's screen doesnt seem strong as Nokia N8..
I asked LG Online Support and they said its not gorilla glass and it is better to use a screen protector..
I think you should do a stratch test, because you are saying it is gorilla glass I said not gorilla glass..
In this case, explain what they're gain by saying that it has Gorilla Glass if it's not true ? -,-

LG Online Support said it is not gorilla glass, i asked 3 different times to be sure. Should i belive damn corning web site or LG Online Support, feel with my hand ?
Tou should ask Corning to respond clearly if "LG-P970 Optimus Black" has GG or not.
If you guys said it is gorilla glass, please do stratch test like this I tried to stratch my Nokia N8 with my keys but i couldnt..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBVzi9khix8
No one would/should try these kind of "test" on their own phone...
If you desperately want the answer, ask LG give you a official written reply.
I have no idea whether it is real Gorilla glass or not.
but why would the LG support answer no? my theory is incompetence
if he/she answer yes, and you "managed" to scratch it, he/she would hold responsible. answer no, then it is your problem... and will persuade you not to scratch the phone.

Damn LG damn..
Found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14959403&postcount=201
I think even LG don't know because in their website there is no information about what glass they're using. And their "Support" probably know only information what's written on their webpage.
I checked some other manufacturer webpages, Samsung, Nokia and HTC doesn't mention either if they are using gorilla glass. Only Motorola does.
Maybe they don't know or maybe their marketing team doesn't give a **** about gorilla glass and what difference does it makes.

accessories or parts - it's the same if you ask me
the subforum should get renamed to suit both better

did you try to google/youtube "dismantle lg optimus 2x"?
looks at me that only plastic (bezel) needs to be replaced (judging by the picture you posted), so only buying a new phone "mask" could solve your problem (if it can be bought separately at all)

No you cant, its an aluminum part and its integral with the digitizer.
http://www.wirelesspartsinc.com/lgp990g2xoptimusscreenlcd-1.aspx
yeah, but can't it be disconected from the housing?
so if you can disconnect the digitizer from the housing, the only thing you'll need is something like this

Its aluminum, if you read a few reviews you will find that info.
there: LG Optimus 2X Review - This in-depth review of the Optimus 2X ... Finally, LG has added a metallic structure all around the phone chassis.

The review is completely wrong about this. It's plastic finished with a "metallic" paint. I know for sure, as I had to smooth out a couple of small dings on the bezel (similar to the photo in the OP, but not as bad). It feels like an ABS when you work it with tools.

water resistante case

Hello there,
I found a picture on the internet where you can see a very cheap way to protect your phone from water: a condom! (That's very crazy, isn't it?) I tested that with my phone and it worked. On the attached pictures you can see the picture I found on the internet and a picture taken with a condom over the phone.
-sorry for my bad english, I'm from germany-
who would say that a condom protects from a water

ok, fun an joke aside,
i dont see any usefull purpose for sticking a mobile in condoms...or this thread for that matter.
didnt you forget that condom has a lubricant "layer" inside, so you have to clean the phone after you take it out .
and just imagine the someone's face when you unveil your phone in "water resistant" case.

Nope... not a single one... and imo the viewing angles really aren't that bad... maybe i just got good panel but colors arent washing out on me... no matter what angle... its just that there must be a "problem" on every phone.
Btw lol my gaming rig has more performance than your server

I`m really thinking about buying one it seems like a great phone!
So Your Gaming Rig has Intel Xeon E5-2620 X4 Physical CPU`s? Right now the going price is like $400 a CPU
Or do you mean my Personal Computer?
if you consider viewing angle an important point, you better start looking at Xperia Z2 instead of Z1
things to watch out for.... the glass scratches easier than you thought, at least in my case
and Z1 still have that plastic anti shatter film on both sides, unlike Z2 which goes naked glass
you'll need a good tempered glass screen guard
Yes its the best phone ive touched !
And yes i was talking about your server no 4 physical cpus (would if could) but i have 2 Intel i7 4960X that costs about 1000 per one and they are oc'd to 4.5Ghz. so atleast same amount of speed... motherboard is EVGA SR-X 270-SE-W888-KR, videocards are Nvidia Titans x2 on SLI mode, 64Gb DDR3 ram, 2 240Gb SSDNow KC300s on RAID1 and some other stuff including self built liquid cooling etc. Case is Corsair Obsidian 900D
So yeah

I don't know. Maybe for the front facing speakers and the IPS display. Which is a big improvement imo because IPS display is just beautiful and since I like to watch movies a lot, the front facing speakers is what I prefer.

For me, Z1 does fine, Best phone ive touched !
