i post it here because its not "accessories" but phone "part"...
if mods want they could move this tread to "accessories"...
thanks anyway
So this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1025737 is also considered as accessories now i know that the screen glass is only an accessory and not phone parts :sly:

accessories or parts - it's the same if you ask me
the subforum should get renamed to suit both better
ontopic...
did you try to google/youtube "dismantle lg optimus 2x"?
looks at me that only plastic (bezel) needs to be replaced (judging by the picture you posted), so only buying a new phone "mask" could solve your problem (if it can be bought separately at all)

No you cant, its an aluminum part and its integral with the digitizer.
http://www.wirelesspartsinc.com/lgp990g2xoptimusscreenlcd-1.aspx
yeah, but can't it be disconected from the housing?
so if you can disconnect the digitizer from the housing, the only thing you'll need is something like this

The Bezel is plastic or metal? Does anyone nows for sure?
I don't want to take apart the phone without having the right parts(s) to replace.
I've watched many you tube videos but still no clear answer
Thanks everybody anyway

Its aluminum, if you read a few reviews you will find that info.
there: LG Optimus 2X Review - This in-depth review of the Optimus 2X ... Finally, LG has added a metallic structure all around the phone chassis.

The review is completely wrong about this. It's plastic finished with a "metallic" paint. I know for sure, as I had to smooth out a couple of small dings on the bezel (similar to the photo in the OP, but not as bad). It feels like an ABS when you work it with tools.

Hi mates,
Because of 2 little dings and scratches on my phone, I'm looking for a new aluminium body spare part for my Legend but I can't find it anywhere...even in e-bay. What can I do?! Should I contact HTC support and send my phone to repair center?!?
Thanks
I would also like to know this...
probably the same location when the black legend comes out...
Same, I don't think we'll see any because it's an odd designed phone.
Found this:

NICE !
Now we just have to wait for the black one...
Has anybody had any luck finding the black housing yet?
Somebody find something?
haven't found one, but I do have an phantom black legend at my disposal.
My thoughts about it:
It looks very "bad", very nice, when I put my silver legend next to it it seems a lot smaller (the black one).
However I do have my doubts about the housing.
It isn't black aluminium its rather silver aluminium with a matt black coating.
So I'm afraid that the scratches are going to be silver...
The screen is surrounded with a silver edge just as ours.
Very nice housing but time will tell about the scratches...
Closest thing I could find

OK, despite being a bit more expensive, which I didn't see for a bad thing, the spare part that came to me from htcrepaitparts is awfull...I wrote them and e-mail to correct this mistake and we will see how they react, but I was very much dissapointed when I unpacked it...It was not anodized, but simply coated aluminum, the upper cover hiding flash, camera etc was a complete fake - there are no antennas inside, just painted "pads"...
the only thing looking decent is the battery cover...

As far as breaking the screen on an expensive phone being funny, i'm not sure... but I would suggest you buy a replacement that is GENUINE samsung, as ebay imitations will be made of inferior materials that will scratch easier, break easier (and you don't want that considering the one you had) and will impair touchscreen function, you probably also will need to change the unit as a whole including the AMOLED, this is because the screens are glued together and also calibrated together (or I would imagine so following trends of touchscreen technology) Might be costly!

In the specs for the LG optimus 2x it says the thickness is 10.9mm but i'm wondering if that includes the back camera or not? Because it sticks out abit

Its 10.9mm at the thickest part
measure with a caliber:
always 11mm except in corrispondence of the camera/flash module that it's 13mm

Nope..Sadly, the LG Optimus Black doesn't have Gorilla glass on.

So you know better? You're telling me that Corning is lying on their website?
You're comparing it only "by the look"? LOL
Take an iron nail, scratch them both and then compare. Maybe then I'll believe you...
You know better? Prove it!
This is really confusing me. Corning said the OB has gorilla glass. But my OB's screen is showing some thin scrapes when tilted.

Are you sure it's scrapes? Just ask because I realized the "scrapes" on my OB change direction when polishing the display in another direction (= it's just touchscreen dirt).

I asked LG Online Support and they said its not gorilla glass and it is better to use a screen protector..
I think you should do a stratch test, because you are saying it is gorilla glass I said not gorilla glass..
In this case, explain what they're gain by saying that it has Gorilla Glass if it's not true ? -,-

LG Online Support said it is not gorilla glass, i asked 3 different times to be sure. Should i belive damn corning web site or LG Online Support, feel with my hand ?
Tou should ask Corning to respond clearly if "LG-P970 Optimus Black" has GG or not.
If you guys said it is gorilla glass, please do stratch test like this I tried to stratch my Nokia N8 with my keys but i couldnt..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBVzi9khix8
No one would/should try these kind of "test" on their own phone...
If you desperately want the answer, ask LG give you a official written reply.
I have no idea whether it is real Gorilla glass or not.
but why would the LG support answer no? my theory is incompetence
if he/she answer yes, and you "managed" to scratch it, he/she would hold responsible. answer no, then it is your problem... and will persuade you not to scratch the phone.

I think even LG don't know because in their website there is no information about what glass they're using. And their "Support" probably know only information what's written on their webpage.
I checked some other manufacturer webpages, Samsung, Nokia and HTC doesn't mention either if they are using gorilla glass. Only Motorola does.
Maybe they don't know or maybe their marketing team doesn't give a **** about gorilla glass and what difference does it makes.
Hello there,
I found a picture on the internet where you can see a very cheap way to protect your phone from water: a condom! (That's very crazy, isn't it?) I tested that with my phone and it worked. On the attached pictures you can see the picture I found on the internet and a picture taken with a condom over the phone.
-sorry for my bad english, I'm from germany-
who would say that a condom protects from a water
nice one ;D

ok, fun an joke aside,
i dont see any usefull purpose for sticking a mobile in condoms...or this thread for that matter.
didnt you forget that condom has a lubricant "layer" inside, so you have to clean the phone after you take it out .
and just imagine the someone's face when you unveil your phone in "water resistant" case.
