Headset command button - LG Optimus 2x

Hi,
There is a bug in the 'LG - Optimus 2x', when the screen is turned off, the Play command does not work !
and when the screen is turned on, the Play command work.
On the other hand, when the screen is turned off, the Pause command works !
it also works when the screen is turned on
So you can make a pause of the playing song but not play it again when the phone has the screen turn off !!! it seems to be a bug
Chris

Hey there!
Can confirm that half way! With me I can skip say five or six songs with double click on the play button but after that this doesn't work anymore and I have to switch the screen on in order to switch/play or pause the song!
Do you also have that cracking noise in the ear-phone when pushing the button?
After the button won't respond the cracking noise dissappears by the way!
Greetings

for this i have found an app that acts as a listener and interprets the commands.
native music app only recognises the play/pause and next track command (wich is buggy)
this app allows you to configure a lot more actions. works like a charm

I do not have any cracking noise with the Optimus built-in headset command tool though.

I was very hopeful with your answer, so I have installed and tested this Headset Button Controller app.
=> Unfortunately it is very very buggy on Optimus 2x. This app is unusable: it randomly recognize a command 1 time out of 10 attemps.
Does any one knows if there is a working solution for the Optimus 2x headset command to allows to have it working properly ?

So I have just looked over the Internet for the 3.5 version.
I have installed it and tested it on my Optimus 2x. It does NOT work either. The headset command respond 1 times out of 10, and most of the time not properly. And the phone is slowed since I have installed this. This Headset Button Controller app even crashed, here is a screenshot:

Do you know another application that can handle this headset button?

I am having this same problem on my g2x. I am both relieved and frustrated to find out others have the same issue. On the one hand there are several people looking for a solution. On the other hand, a simple hardware exchange won't fix it. I also tried the headphone control app to no avail. This is a big issue for me. Enough that I will return the phone if I can't find a solution.

[Q] [HTC HD2] Headset plug in with mic and music control

Hello ,
Since my old HTC Artemis is dying slowly, I have bought an HTC HD2.
I am looking for a headset plugger(where I can plug in a 3.5mm headphone) which can connect to the HTC HD2 and has a mic, music control(play/ pause/ skip and call pick up/ cancel facility. I read through the old threads and the closest I came to was combining the original headset with another one.
Please suggest me a working one.
Thanks
I would suggest bluetooth stereo headphones. They have the buttons to do all your music playing or phone calling all while your phone stays in your pocket. I use them religiously. I'm at work right now using them. Also use them with the bluetooth on my laptop.
Are there no wired sets who can do this as well?Bluetooth would be awesome had they not needed the battery to be charged.Which model do you use and recommend?

There are, but once you go wireless bluetooth you don't want to have wires again. I know I don't. I have a set of RocketFish. These specifically. I love them.

You can find in the ear sets also. The specific set you get should suit your taste. Just make sure it has buttons for call, play, forward, back, up vol and down vol. I can start/stop my music, skip forward and back through songs, answer or send a call to voicemail, start a call with voice dialer, and control the volume all with my phone in my pocket.
Hi
Thanks for the info.
Would you have a model number for this specific one?And it also has a built in mic?
Thanks

Yes it has a mic. I use it for calls and have been told it sounds good on the other end.
*edit*
If anyone buys these... read the directions and change the sound settings. The last setting offers great sound for music, videos, and games.

vol down + power button hold..hard resets the phone..
I am talking about the wired headsets with 3 buttons.
If I wanted to ask how to reset I would have asked that way.
Will this work ?

depends on what music player you are using and if you have the support for that enabled please check that first and most of the ones i tried aren't even branded except the first mentioned.

At least for the "HTC RC E190" me and a friend have tried for almost a whole day, with many different headset apps & players and it did not work. All thre buttons are recognised the same way (as if they were the same button).
What and where do you enable the support ?
Is there like some option setting hidden somewhere ?

the play button should work and usually the volume buttons don't work with android only with ios devices the support for that is enabled in poweramp for example and the stock music player there is no hidden menu option for it just check in the app settings if there is such setting.
My friend! My headphone have 6 buttons! It works very well!

I've used Urban Ears headphones and they work fine. But the headphones last very quickly. I recommend you get Klipsh S4 for Android, it has controller and mic that work with any android phone. The bass is CLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAANNNNN.

No music controls on Lock screen

Hey all,
This has annoyed me for some time with this device. Music controls do not show up when playing something from google play music app.
I use the swipe pass-lock on my phone with no htc lock screen (they dont work with google play music anyway and I find it annoying to swipe a lock screen before I can actually unlocking my phone...) I remember this was a standard feature on 4.0 or 4.1 so I dont know why its not working here. All that I ever see is a date, clock and weather above my swipe pad. I want the standard music controls when there is music playing.
Before you ask: Yes, I do have "lock screen music controls" enabled in my security settings. It doesn't seem to do anything. Didn't see anything relevant come up with search- has no one else noticed this? I know that this was working with my Nexus S, why is it not working here? Any ideas?
I'll also mention my experience with 3rd party lock screens has been... bad. But I've at least tried

What ROM are you running? I build Beanstalk and it has this function working fine. Carbon does as well. If you are running a stock ROM, I'm not sure though.....
I'm on stock w/goodies one 2.07, I was thinking of switching to viper v3.1 tonight but I'll have to take a look at beanstalk. Thanks!
Still, I've never seen this work so I was kinda thinking it was just sense. I cannot believe I'm the only one who misses it though.
I have lockscreen music controls using google music

App Idea - loss prevention

Hello World! - first time posting sorry if something like this has come up or is out there and I just missed it.
Hi all so I have a simple idea but as I'm far from a programer and would only just dare call myself a power user at best for I can follow most of the guides here with little hitch and find the answers to most hitches I do come a cross but programing no.....
Just to though this out there.
When I walk away from my phone I get a small vibrate and a short message saying BT is disconnected on the Gear, ok fair enough but If i really forget my phone and walk away from it for some reason it is because I'm deeply occupied in something or distracted and sometimes a quick weak shake from the gear will go right under my attention thus the idea would be for.
a simple app that on the gear one could have an alarm that vibrates until the gear was accessed to turn the alarm of manually or BT reconnects.
Don't know how hard this might be but I would pay money for something like this in a app store
Some icing on the cake might be that an alarm goes off on both devices with audio alarm for the phone, you know if someone somehow lifts your phone or maybe a bag that you phone happens to be. but just an idea.
And Huge Thanks to all the people that have done great work here on making the Galaxy Gear awesome
Thank You
Havent tried but but i suppose you can sideload tasker and can setup a tasker task that tests for bluetooth connection and raise an alert as needed

Thanks for the response I was wondering if tasker might be able to do something like this and now you mention it I will load it and see. but I think it would be nice to see a dedicated app, but then I also think Sammy should of had something like this straight out of the gate but hey maybe I’m being crazy.
Cheers.
got to playing with this - i used the app Atooma which is in the Samsung Apps section of Gear manager. loaded it on the phone and the gear - basically a simplified tasker
- got it set so when the Gear gets out of range of BT and disconnect, the phone starts playing a tune
really simple to setup and works great.

Question Volume suddenly dropping to very low levels, volume buttons showing only mic adjustment

Hi guys, I have a redmi note 10 pro that is currently running on miui 12.5.8. Since past 2 weeks there is this weird issue where the volume of incoming calls, media reduces to 10% or less suddenly. Even volume buttons become non responsive to volume adjustments. On pressing them, they only show microphone levels, there is no panel for adjusting Media/notifications/alarms. Everytime I have to restart to get volume back to normal levels..happening 10 times a day..ANyone faced this same issue?
Does this happen while you plug-in headset or all the time?

all the time..with or without earphones
Seems some kind of hardware issue. I've faced this with damaged headphones only. Try resetting. If issue persists then claim warranty
This is what happens when I press volume buttons after the sudden volume drop: the weird "Mic adjusting panel" instead of the regular notification or media volume panel

Known issues with MIUI 12.5.8.0:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/qnxmez
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/redmi-note-10-pro-freezes-on-volume-slider.63217/ (on this one they suggests a solution EDIT: this one seems about an old issue, when the volume's buttons on 12.5.8.0 caused system freeze.)
So latest systemUI plugin from apkmirror might fix this according to EU forum post
Had same issue with receiver of my calls saying i was very soft and kept cutting in and out also experiencing loud static on receivers end every 30-40 secs happens on volte/4g/wifi
I've requested refund

tried this didnt work
Here is what all I have tried:
Disable Dolby atmos
close bluetooth/ remove earphones
removed microphone permissions from all apps as far as possible
removed the systemUI plugin
reinstalled the systemUI plugin
removed running apps from memory
ran anti virus scans
none of these steps have worked..ALways the same story: reboot device -> behave perfectly fine -> after some 1-2 hours volume reduces drastically on its own ->try the volume buttons, but they show only the microphone slider -> restart the device again.
In the meantime you could report such issue to Xiaomi, (also by point them this discussion) by using the "Feedback" app, to make them aware of a needed fix
Some users reported that they only experience this after each Messenger call, and that this could be fixed by simply force stopping the Messenger app, or clearing the RAM entirely.
