Does anyone know of a wall adapter that works great for the USB cable for the streak.

I use these

It is incredibly useful if you have several USB chargeable devices. It will charge up to 5 simultaneously.
If you plug 2 or 3 other devices in at the same time it would have problems charging the Streak I think but it does look useful.
22 dollars is rather expensive. Looking for something cheaper.

I only use the supplied Dell item and my recommendation so I can't help with a cheaper item.
BTW Troute's comment #3 is rubbish. He doesn't know what he is talking about.
Cheap wall chargers
I agree with rebski, you have a very nice device but wanna skimp on how you charge it, resulting in possibly frying it.... dont think so...
I use only the Dell charger and cable at home, but I do use one called the Trans4mer when I am in the car

Out of your own ignorance, you make an uninformed judgement denigrating my recommendation.
I take that as your insult to me in the first instance.

It does not have problems charging 5 5v USB devices at the same time.
The specs advertised say it outputs 2000ma and you'll have no problems as long as you stick to that. If you plug in devices totaling more than 2000ma the output will drop on all ports and it will struggle/take longer to charge. The streak needs ~1000ma and my android phone needs 750ma, plug them in together and that leaves 250ma to spread between the other three ports.
I'm assuming it can output full power to one port if it needs to since you say it charges your streak ok (/edit actually you didn't say that but I assume it), but I don't think it can feed full power to all ports at the same time, that would make it a 10amp charger and it's a bit small looking for that.

Since there are a lot of knockoffs on ebay I thought I would come in with a pleasant surprise. I bought http://item.mobileweb.ebay.ca/viewitem?itemId=130783773578this expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised at how well it works on my Note2. The only thing is the usb cord is not very long and you have to have it plugged in so that the phone is charging for it to work, but for the price is awesome.
I ordered one just like that off of ebay as well and it works for me too. They all have to be plugged in to power to work.
Well I learned something today. This is my 2nd Samsung phone and first experience with mhl adapter and didnt know it HAD to be plugged in. Thanks.
Thanks for the link.. at $12 it's a cheap enough gamble.
Can you detail where the length is lacking? Easy enough to add an extension for length?

The HDMI part of the cable is 6 feet like advertised but the usb power part is less than half that length. I have a usb extension cable somewhere but can't find it to try it :banghead:

That's what's posted up a bit and mine wouldn't work without power source. Learning curve lol.
One thing I did notice is that even with it plugged in and "charging" after a couple hours on watching you tube the phone dropped from 80% to 72% battery so not really sure if it's charging or if it just takes that much power. I was using the wall charger that came with my phone so it should have been getting the 2 amps.
I think this mhl cord probably only allows 500ma. Something I use to counter that is this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nkahoang.screenstandby
It allows you to turn off your screen, because even on the lowest brightness it still eats up the battery.
Good thread. There are a couple on amazon like this as well
For those of you who shop at monoprice, their 11 to 5 pin adaptor is back in stock and they even bundle it with an mhl adaptor.
I can't link to it as I just registered here, but it's under accessories>cell phones
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could purchase a replacement OEM wall charger for my Galaxy Gear. I've been to Samsung's website but I could only find the replacement cradle. I've also checked eBay and sites like Amazon.

maybe it doesn't, but your way of thinking is flawed, and greedy.
charging cradle is using standard micro usb connection. 99% of the cables/chargers will work with it. everyone own a few at least, they come with nearly every device. micro usb is present on more than 90% of devices. you charge everything with one cable. yet you are trying to get the original charger - for no reason.
Again, your opinion has nothing to do with my question. My way of thinking isn't on trial here, I just asked a simple question and you're not contributing.

Buy it from someone that charges it from a standard micro-usb, having the original charger sitting unopened inside the box...

I guess I wasn't around whenever you were crowned "knower of all things usb and resale", strange though considering you obviously have no clue what you're talking about. First of all having the original box and original contents along with any item being resold greatly increases the overall chance of it selling, it reduces the amount of time it takes to sell, and most importantly items sold with their original box and contents on average bring in 15% - 30% MORE MONEY than the exact same items being sold without the original box and contents. So wow, just wow, it actually does make a difference whether you want to believe it or not. But I guess whenever you sell something of yours you just give it away for practically nothing because otherwise you'd be greedy right? Let me know whenever you're ready to sell your Gear because I'd be happy to give you $20 bucks for it! Secondly, just because a different cable might fit into the port doesn't mean that it'll work the same way. You're "any old cable will do" theory is kind of ridiculous considering cables by themselves have different resistances which alone could cause longer charge times and faster battery drain, and each adapter has it's own voltage and amp outputs which can also effect different devices in different ways. It's funny how none of those things ever crossed your mind yet somehow you're an authority on the subject. LOL Wow just wow!

The cable seems to work fine but it's mighty short compared to the one that came with the tablet. I'll keep it for a travel cable and use it with the wall wart that I have from my busted TF700. I also have a car adapter that worked with the TF700 so I'm hopeful it will also charge the new tablet when used with this shorty cable.
I've always ordered from ASUS. Got 2 cables and a wall wort. All worked fine.

I see that I probably should have added the phrase "That is my opinion" to my post. :silly:
My logic is that the adaptive fast charger originally came with the GS6 and thus it's designed by the same OEM for that exact model. You could argue that the adaptive charger that came with the Note 4 should be the same one. It actually is not. The Note 4's is based on Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology, while the GS6's is a different standard, mainly because it's not rocking a Qualcomm chip anymore.
My point is that it's definitely a safer bet to use accessories that came with the phone or claim compatibility with it. I'm not stopping anyone from doing what they want with their chargers, but I would just caution you to do a bit of research first to make sure what you're doing will not damage that $800 marvel we put our money in.
Just my opinion, of course. :good:

Hey guys,
Did somebody else watched this? Apparently the Nexus 5x and 6P USB-C standard chargers are not safe!! I am really worried because I'm using mine in my daily basis to charge my N5X and my wife LG G5.
Can somebody corroborate this tests?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMPrM0eWPbY
http://www.androidheadlines.com/201...ble-nexus-5x-6p-defective-charger-issues.html
Yes, watch it even before xda portal post. Benson has mentioned Nathan K. and Gtrusted related works on G+ before.
Part 2 is here too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBcjlGu4uLo
The chargers just being dumb and will provide power output whenever a circuit is completed.
Even the other side doesnt told it to, like a dog bite into the cable.
Or the other side is a usb power host too and doesnt told it to provide output [this is BAD], just don't try it.
What you need to know is don't connect it to others usb power host.
Then it should be fine. Meanwhile, we waited for Google's proper response or recall.
I have that charger... Is there a cheap way to check it for any faults?
Hello, my 5x charger charges the phone rapidly in the beginning, but it slows down after 80-85%, does that mean it's intelligent? Should I worry or not?

That's the way it was designed, but it isn't the charger that is controlling that. The phone is the one controlling how much current it pulls, subject to what the charger conveys it can handle or some default rules if that information is not explicitly available.
I have to say that my Nexus 5X charger is dead because the fabric problems with it
