Hey guys,
I'm currently on FR12 MCR custom rom and I am still facing the random shutdowns where I have to pull the battery out. I think it might be some hardware issue which I'm gonna bring back to the service centre.
How do you flash the phone back to stock rom so that the service people would not know that I'm rooted and void my warranty?

NVFlash / SmartFlash .....
Check out this the threads.
I have a previously rooted rom when I backup using the Clockwork recovery. So I did a wipe and do a restore and reboot the system. Now the screen is stuck at the LG logo with the loading bar.
What can I do?
try this, follow the instructions,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008070
If not the Baseband will help you, try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007825
This will bring you back to Stock 10b on a low level
As in, my phone is currently at the LG loading bar, do I have to wait very long to get it to the main screen?

What have you done with your phone ??
If you want to return to stock, NVFlash it to 1503 10b.. or SmartFlash it to the latest 10b..
The threads is available in the DEV section.
Hi there, I used the Smartflash and flash it to LGP990AT-00-V10b-NEU-XXX-APR-05-2011+0_CP but when I restart the phone, it brings me back to MCR custom roms again.
Any reason?
I tried already, then after the flashing is done, the LG logo now keeps blinking.
What should I do?
Have you tried to use SmartFlash for the Singapore ROM?

I am looking for suggestions in what I should do before I send my phone in for replacement. It is currently rooted and a replacement is on the way because the top button on my phone stopped working. Should I go back to stock? Has anyone ever had a problem with a rooted phone being turned away? thanks so much for the input. Mike
I would definitely recommend getting it back to stock. Don't bother with a stock recovery, but make sure you're on 2.1 or AT LEAST stock 2.2.
I sent mine in stock 2.1 with a custom recovery and they had no problem fixing it because it was a HARDWARE issue that I didn't cause. They run a test to see if the problem comes from the user.
Ok thanks... If I want to go back to stock I can just flash Update-Passion-Full-FRF91.zip just like i would a rom Right? Thanks Mike

Hello guys.
Before I go into it, let me start by saying I'm a complete noob at these things.
A couple of months ago (following guide on the net), I rooted my Optimus P990 and installed my first custom ROM.
Tonight I looked on the net to look at how to restore my device to stock.
I followed this guide.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327599
It didn't work!!!!
Although the phone is still working, I have completely lost internet connection on network and wireless.
I'm worried about trying anything else in case I mess my phone up!!
Can anyone out there help me restore back to stock in noob dialogue??
Thanks in advance
Make a backup of everything.
Then go to recovery and wipe everything!
Perform a fresh install of your current rom + kernel combination.
Boot phone and everything should work now don't forget to restore your backups.
Thanks for the quick reply.
Will try it tomorrow.
Stupid question but what is the kernal?
Every rom comes with stock kernel, which is more or less a sort of 'driver' for your phone. Anyway, you don't really have to know what it is, only what you can do with it.
Custom kernels allow you to overclock your CPU frequency, this will make your phone faster and smoother. For example, stock kernel only allows your CPUto clock at the standard 1.0 Ghz, and custom kernels will let you overclock to 1.5 Ghz.
Custom kernels also allows you to Undervolt your phone. This means that you can turn down the voltages used at each CPU frequency. This will improve battery life. Custom kernels do much more things... But these two are the most important.
Look at my signature for the ETaNa Kernel, and read it for more information.
Ah ok thanks.
Is there a stock ROM that your aware of?
Sorry. When I say stock I mean revert my phone back to how it was when I first got it.

Have you tried restoring it using LG's PC Suite?
No not yet. I'm currently using a custom ROM. Cant remember which one it is.
Would an update via LG's PC Suite overwrite this firmware??
To reach your goal you must flash with nvflash technique, search in dev section thread about this. It will restore a stock phone, erasing recovery and root.
Lg PC suite won't be able to flash over a modified phone.
Ok. Thanks. What's the risk to my phone?
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA App
If you want to restore your phone to stock then head over to the MoDaCo site and look for a pinned topic in section on the LG O2X entitled "NVflash stock ROM release."
Following the instructions will restore the stock ROM from March 2011 to your phone.
Hi everyone.
I have an Optimus 2x, and when i updated it to 2.3.4 i could not use superoneclick to root my phone instead i found an answer on how to root it.
I needed to install cwm 5 and after that busybox and so on, and it worked, it was rooted.
Now i have a other problem, i have an update on my phone and when i click on installing it starts to reebot then it comes to cwm screen, there i'm stuck.
I have tryed everything there trying to update it but nothing works.
So now i am wondering if any of you can help me?
Got any idea what i can do to update or what i am doing wrong?
//Szander.
Ok, so now i did a recover so i get back my phone as it was before i installed cwm and tryed to update, it did work fine.
Until the update was done, then it stopped, and nothing i did worked the little android just stand there and looked at me.
So what now, i removed the battery and hoped for the best, now the phone would not bot at all.
After a few tears and a few swear words, i thougt about something, maybe i could use nvflash to get it all back as it was ???
I tryed closed my eyes and after a few minutes i could restart my phone and it loaded as useall, but the update was gone, ofcourse.
So now back to square one again.
Sigh (
Hi Szander,
So just to be completely clear, you're back at a perfectly stock 2.3.4 unrooted ROM and you want to root it, right?
Why not trying to follow cyanogen wiki to root it?

No.
I have cwm, and its still rooted.
What i want is to get rid of cwm so i can update to the latest update wich is v20q.
I have tryed this with recover but its only working on froyo, i belive i read it somewhere.
And when i recovered my phone then the problem really started, but thats fine now.
And as an plus is that now when i run LGMobileupdate tool its saying that i have v20q but in the phone it says that i still have v20I.
Weird.
I have read alittle more and (if i got it right) found out that i might just need to use smartflash on the phone via my computer to get rid of cwm and get a perfectly stocked phone again.
So can you help me please, hoping that you understand my problem.
Yup, as far as I know you are correct. To get your phone back to stock you need to flash a stock ROM using either smartflash or nvflash. I haven't done it so I can't guide you through it personally, but search this forum you should find the relevant threads easily enough.
If you have trouble finding it let me know I'll help you searching.
EDIT: By the way, thanks for Meshuggah, one of the best bands ever I should visit Sweden sometime

I've used CM9 and now CM10, but no such a problem here. (maybe it's hardware related? :S)
If you really want to go back to stock than read THIS thread.
Thanks
