So i was applying the newest update from Microsoft on my HTC HD7. When i got back from class, i found that it was stuck on the "phone is rebooting" phase. So after 20 mins i unplugged it from my pc and took out the battery for a few minutes.
Now the phone won't go passed the HTC loading screen and it vibrates 7 times on startup. What am i to do?
TIA
Nothing guys?

wierd, same thing happened to me, so after like 15 minutes i still saw that my phone had rebooted and was working and checked the firmware that it was 7392 which is the latest one and so i decided to unplug it and replug it in and it finished on the zune software. did not turn it off before i plugged it back in to the computer and zune said "finish" and everything went well :/
on my part, i think the zune software had a hiccup and after that it was fine. which is wierd that with yours it didn't work the same... maybe because you did something a bit different from me? i didn't turn it off at all and it finished the update on zune's part after i plugged it in and made sure it was working before i unplugged it. did you do something different? :/
btw im running HD7 on T-mobile and it is chev-unlocked if that helps anyone at all

I believe my battery ran dead and i didnt notice, now my when you press the power button the blue o2 loading screen comes on then about 2 seconds later the device restarts and same thing over and over.
If i plug a an ac adpater in (i've tried 2 and an incar charger) the light ring goes up twice then then phone triggers a start up and gets stuck in the loop. I've tried leaving it in this loop for 10mins see if it would charge the battery but no luck.
I have tried doing a hard-reset 3 times now it says its done ok soon as i press vol up to boot it goes into the loop.
Is there anyway i can charge the battery if this is the case or is there another problem thats causing this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Are you sure the battery is dead?
If you left it in the loop for 10 mins I would have thought that it would flatten it such that it doesn't light up at all.
I know the battery was very low before it started doing this and i hadnt installed anything new in months.
Usualy on the o2 screen it shows red writing at the top and bottom, its not showing that right now if that means anything.
Its a stock o2 uk rom with no changes to the radio and official battery.
I've just installed the latest rom from the o2 website (keeping it stock incase i need to send it off to them) and still doing the reboot on startup thing.
Contacted o2 see what they say but if anyone else has any ideas im open to suggestions
i've got the same issue and the battery won't charge ...i suppose it could be a battery issue, but i'd be sure about it prior to buy a new battery..
Battery was fine, i sent the phone to the o2 repair centre got it back week later fixed

did you use a modified rom? ..i was told htc repairs only unmodified products, could you gimme more information about it?
No it was not a modified rom, default o2 xda ignito rom.
Me too!
I had the same issue. I tried soft-resets, hard-reset, swapping batteries with another phone (even tried warming the battery in my hands which was suggested somewhere!), reflashing a couple of different ROM's, including Shaks 4.30 and the latest Telstra ROM (2.07.841.2 WWE). I tried using MTTY to reflash the ROM, and reflashing using the DiamonCustomRUU.exe from the PC. (OliNex 1.40 SPL). All of the reflashes were in Bootloader mode (hold pwr and vol down) because I couldn't get it to the point of ActiveSync connection.
Nothing would work.
The winning step that bought me the joy (and relief) I was looking for was downgrading the radio from 1.09.25.23 to 1.00.25.05.
Also, I'm not sure if it is related, but I think the reset button under the stylus is stuffed because pressing it doesn't do anything.
Now I've escaped the reboot loop from hell, I'll run it for a few days before giving it back to my boss! If anyone's interested, I'll update you in a few days.

could you please tell me how you installed the radio, because when I use diamoncotumruu it stays at 0% and the finaly gives an error

I had to install the radio in Bootloader mode (hold pwr and vol down), but there was no issue with the install after doing this. Have you checked this thread? I don't know if that thread will help you fix your issue but it might be worth a look.
What exactly was the error message? Perhaps a search on that error message will help you.

I've tried it in bootloader mode, but it won't install...
the error number is 262. but that should be an active sync problem but I can't sync so I don't know what the problemm is
Not really on topic, but...

262 isn't an necessarily an ActiveSync problem, more of a connection problem. Try post 9 here. Or try uninstalling Active Sync altogether and installing radio and ROM via MTTY. Since it is a connection problem, you could even try a different USB cable.
But I suggest you post 262 queries here, here, here or here.
BTW, Are you using XP?
HD.
I need help with connection, pc not recognition ppc, I was try lot of advices, but noting happend. I use Windows XP SP2 and I have HTC HD Win 6.1. I wish change SPL from SD card, but I can not find solution. Thanks for any help.
Read this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
You may also need to update your usb drivers - follow this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524619
You can't update spl via sd card to my knowledge, this has to be done via usb.
Nothing
I was try, but nothing, I will try to explain, sometimes whan I connected HD everything is ok, about 10 or 15 seconds, after that disconnected. I try unpluged and pluged again, but nothing happened. If I wait some time, again 10 or 15 seconds is ok and again disconnect.
My English is not good, but I try to find help.
So to confirm, you have changed your usb drivers as explained in the thread I referred you to?
If so, you can try to reinstall ActiveSync.
...
I was reinstal windows xp and nothing happened. When I wait 10 minutes and try again I have cinnection only 10 seconds, if I unpluged cabl and pluged again nothing happened, but if I wait 10 minutes and try show me connection 10 seconds.
And again I ask, did you replace your usb drivers using the link I gave above.
I will send HTC in service, thank you for help.
You still haven't answered my question and now you want to send the device in. Why send it in for service if you haven't even tried to fix it or if you don't know what the problem is?
Did you try replacing the usb drivers on your pc according to the link I gave you? Do you perhaps not understand what I'm asking?
As ClydeB1 stated above your issue is probably easily solved and maybe no need to leave it back to HTC for service, but you need to try the suggestions made by people first.
There is a number of reasons why your pc wouldn't pick up your HD. One as provided by ClydeB1 is that your usb drivers aren't correct and would need updating by following this guide.
You could also make sure that 'allow usb connections' is turned on in activesync connection settings.
Let us know if you have tried these and then we can offer more suggestions

Yes I was replace drivers, And I have one more problem with HTC, last night when I try turn on HTC nothing show on display, only black screen, I try about 10 times and I successful turn on HTC, HTC working about 5 minutes and when I look display is black, I try 100 times turned on but nothing, I think the best way to send my HTC in service. I am very disappointed in HTC, my HTC was working only 5 months, I think 10 hours of conference. (When I press power button, display is black, but I hear sound when HTC power on), HTC working but display is black, like the HTC extinct.
I took out the battery and waited about 2 hours and tried again to start the HTC and successfully started, then I did the clear storage and again refused to start again, I took out the battery and waited 2 hours and then started again, HTC, now he works, but not know whether to USB connection,I will try later. I do not know what is happening with my HTC.
The camera also will not start.
I updated my HD7 today from WP7 to Mango via Zune, and now it's stuck in a reboot loop. It seems to restart, then I get between 10 seconds and a minute's worth of usage, then it reboots. I guess there's something happening which is causing it to flip out, but it's very difficult to diagnose. I've tried toggling wifi but it still happens. The phone is unusable now so any advice is appreciated.

it sounds like a failed update.
have you tried restoring your back-up?
Bizarrely, a restore then update worked. Thanks for the tip.
My phones battery died over the weekend, I got it charged back up, the phone was acting real sluggish so I restarted it, came back a few hours later and noticed it was still on the white HTC screen, I watched it for a few minutes and noticed it would sit on this screen for about a minute, then go dark, then back to the HTC screen and we go round and round.
I tried hboot, all the options do this. Fastboot, recovery even factory restore all trigger this infinite loop...
What has happened? How can I fix this?
Note that it was a stock phone, no mods, no custom ROMs or anything else. It was OTA updated to ICS about a week ago, and has been fine since then.

So can you get to the bootloader and send fastboot commands?
Sorry I am not a modder or anything like that, do you mean select the "fastboot" option?
I tried running fastboot reboot from my PC while it was plugged in and my phone was in the hboot area, and it just says "waiting for device" and never does anything.
If I select "fastboot" from the hboot menu the phone restarts, a bar goes up the side of the HTC screen then about 30 or so seconds later it goes black and repeats process.
Ah, yes I can. I figured it out, plug into USB, select fastboot, then it goes to USB. I was able to reboot the phone.
EDIT: Tried running the update from HTC's website, took it about 5 - 10 minutes or so. It completed without issues, however the phone is still doing this infinite rebooting cycle...
You mean the RUU? And for ICS? That is supposed to be the ultimate method to unbrick and return to stock. Sounds like the OTA messed something up. When you say go dark you mean the screen goes of then it comes back to the HTC screen? This is probably obvious but have you tried a battery pull? Taking out aim card anything is worth a shot.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
Yes the RUU update from HTC's website. The phone started this morning without issues. Then after a restart it starts the whole cycle over again.
Hi
Im new here and first time on doing anything like this to a phone and would like some help.
Im having a problem with it which is one of the reasons why im here to fix it,
the phone goes to the htc boot screen and vibrates 7 times, im guessing its overheating from what iv read on here and the phone it self works if left off for while you can get the phone running normally but after approx 20mins of using the phone it reboots a few times then stays on the htc logo at vibrates 7 times. (my pc detects the phone normally and in usb mode just fine)
from what iv read the only way too fix this is to install a nodo rom but there are so many different ones i have no idea which ones i need to use
so any help here would be great
