Rapture - Off-topic

Anybody willing to give me their collection of phones? If you think you'll go into heaven tomorrow for Rapture, I don't think you'd need a phone

I'm too cold hearted to be lifted up in rapture, you can have my Mom's $5 government funded phone though haha That is, if she disappears
-Remember, Android hell is a real place and you will be sent there at the first sign of defiance-

I was going to send you mine, but imagine my surprise when it turned out that i'm a godless sinner after all
Guess i'll be keeping it.
Has anyone checked to see if Steve Jobs has ascended?

I'm on my way to check my local Apple store to see if anybody's left (a MacBook Pro or two wouldn't hurt). Then again, since they use iPhones, maybe not

Who else hates shopping with women?

Any one else hate shopping with women? What bugs me the most is they have to try on ever little thing they like! And half of the time they don't buy it! I'm actually at the mall right now with my sisters and theyve been in the sane store for like 2 hours! I'm about to bang my head on the floor till my ears bleed

I love shopping with women. Lol seriously though, when a woman goes clothes shopping, we get more of a rush like when you get a new gadget you love or watch the game or the like. It's fun finding pretty stuff to show off in. Lol
Yay! Go me. I got the XDA app. lol
I hate shopping with women as much as women hate going with me to shop for camera equipment.

I used to go to the mall with my mother when I was little. Oh gawd. We went in circles, she tried EVERYTHING on.. Used to drag me nuts. Luckily now, I am old enough to walk around by myself.
EDIT: Not to mention she pretty much doesn't buy anything. So we come back tomorrow and she tries on MORE stuff on and buys the thing she didn't yesterday. Yes, I know didn't make sense

not buying stuff on the day does make sense - means she didn't waste money on clothes she wouldnt wear, and got rid of the impulse buy, and only got stuff she liked.
I like shopping - its fun. I get to piss around a lot with my fianceé whilst she shops so its no big problem! Besides, it also has brownie points....

Sometimes I hate shopping with my wife because we spent the whole day to look for her shoes we went several malls then at the end she bought nothing because she did not like the designs. I think it is a wasting of time.
I'm surprised anyone in this nerd-haven had ever talked to a woman before...
Last time i went i saw my Geography teacher buying a push up LOL
Oh gosh i dont even go in the mall anymore it takes so long, especially if theres a sale going on.
I took my girlfriend Christmas shopping last year and told her she could get what she wanted(me paying for it) and well my wallet was almost empty when we left 2 hours later, but it paid off in the long run.

I actually don't really mind shopping with my wife. When it comes to clothes, she's very selective when it comes to trying things on.
She only goes berserk when it comes to shoes. But then every shoe shop has some place for me to sit. So, I use the opportunity to fiddle around with my smartphone.

Oh my, im being haunted

Ok so I need to just talk about this but recently at my house (which I've been living in for about 4 years) some scary stuff has been going on now this isn't in order but im scared. Like i dont mean to be a ***** about iit but im truely sincerely scared, now a couple of minutes ago I was in my kitchen heating up some food when Outta no where I heard my name in my ear and some other words which I couldn't make out. Thinking it was my mother whose room is right next to the kitchen I went and checked and she was asleep. Then. I went back to the food and iI felt what was like something big standing behind me it was a horrible feeling. Now for the past couple if days I've been hearing footsteps and I've been seeing shadows, recentlyy I saw a head move by the light reflected by my window and nothing was outside. Also about a week ago I was putting my dog in the house when I saw a red air compressor move right in front of my eyes. It was about 10 at night so I couldn't be anybody. Plus it moved so cleanly, so unhumanly. Ill keep this updated but man I just have to share this.
Edit*: I remember the first experience I had with it. I was getting ready to go out to eat so I picked up an iron walked around the house with it and ironed a **** real quick with it unplugged. Right before I left I did a lap with it around the house and made sure the cord wasn't tangled and put it next to my moms tv which is on a stand about 3feet tall, so I left and came back no more then 30 minutes after to find the iron on the carpet while plugged in, leaving a deep burn on it. Call me crazy but I made sure twice it wasn't plugged it. Heck I never went close to the power outlet.

You got one of the bad ones. They won't listen to you if you ask em to leave. Won't stop. Not polite. The shadow you say you see is just like the demons from Ghost. Pure evil. Is someone in your house now that wasn't there before, ie a drug shooting uncle, molesting step dad, someone brought that evil with them and it doesn't like you. Might want to go to a shady part of town and tell one of those psychics you saw and passed off as a fake *****. Don't tell her the whole story, but tell her you got a problem. See if she can tell what it is or has to social engineer it out of you.

That's what my friend had to do. Her and her kids slept on an air mattress in the living room for about two years. Finally a good psychic told her to divorce her husband and move. Hasn't had a problem since. Watch out who you let over to your house. You are a good person. That's why this demon doesn't like you. Mostly they just talk to you in your ear, growl at you, scare teh **** out of you on purpose. Nothing nice about em period. It's when they start moving things that it's getting out of control. They or you have to go somehow.
There are good ghosts, my mom lives with two of em. They watch over her. Stay up in the attic. The vet clinic I work at has one. Only two of us notice it. It just watches everyone and makes sure everybody is doing good to the animals. I actually talked to it one day. Got tired of it watching me and wanted to know what it's deal was. We're cool now.
From now on, don't let crazy people in your house. That is your castle, your domain, your place of solace. Don't let it corrupted.

The ghost even got physical with my cousin once by scratching her back. We found out that it was a female ghost and was very jeulous (spelt wrong) of any females. We had to move right away acourding (also spelt wrong) to the pastor who put a belsing on the house.

They're really fun when you can get em to move without anyone touching it. Another time, talked to Brian, found out later that a kid named Brian was killed in the apartments thta I lived in.
It's not scary at all. Learned it when I was young. Me and my uncle would go (lack a better word) hunting for spirits. After spending some time with it. Do a game with where we wrote down what we saw and felt. Telling about what vibes we got from the spirit. If we saw it in clothes, what clothes are they in. Very telling of what kind of spirit you have. Or we would go out after doing some meth. (Keep in mind nobody halucinates the same thing.) We would go out in the middle of the night and "be one" with what was around us. Always seeing the same thing, hearing the same sounds. Drugs actually clutter your mind, but makes you more open to what is around. You see more, but you get confused. It's a learned trait to filter it and see what's really there.

If you are a religious person pray for the spirits to find there way to the other side. If they are demons there is no other side and they will stay until they feel the harm the caused is sufficient.

How is your week?

Hey guys, i could use a quick cheer up. Everyone tell me how your week has been.
I got a raise Monday, now I make 10 cents above minimum wage! I found a lump on my testicles Wednesday and was diagnosed with testicular cancer on Friday, which coincidentally was the day my parents held a family meeting telling us that they were going to file a divorce by the end of next week. I don't even know what to do anymore.
Anyone out there need to talk about their problems? I don't have anyone in particular to talk to.

hey man sorry to hear! one of my best friends had the same thing about a year and a half ago and went through all the treatment and is now cancer free. keep your head up and by all means do the treatment. did they test the lump bc my grandmother had a tumor on her brain and the dr told her she only had 2 months to live and it was cancer so she got a second opinion from another dr and said there was no way to tell untill they got it out. she did have the tumor removed and it was not cancer.

Cheer up, no matter what your going through, some people have it worse. My week was pretty good. One day last week (I think it was Tuesday) I was on my way to work on the highway and I seen a Guy walk out of hid car and jump in front of a semi truck and died instantly. Don't wanna disgust u with the details but it was horrible. You just have to be thankful that it was testicular cancer instead of something much more severe. Remember nothing is ever perfect and that is what keeps me going whenever something happens. Also remember that some people don't have parents. Good luck

I've never had reason to doubt my doctor, but I suppose a second opinion wouldn't hurt. He says it is malignant, but I hope it is just a tumor. My best friend had to have his left testicle removed a few months ago. You don't know how relieved I would be if it were just a tumor, and that it could be removed safely. From what I understand though testicular cancer is one of those things where you preety much have to go under the needle and remove the testicle to cure it.

Bought a pone from someone, he wants it back???

I know I spelled "Phone" wrong
Recently, I was at a public place and someone came up to me begging me to buy his phone. Long story short, after a lot of talk I bought the phone from him and after 4 days he calls and tells me he wants it back.
Now, I have paid money for the phone and he is threatening me that he will call the cops on me because of theft and it is in his name. I paid for it, should it not be mine? Im in Canada btw
How does he have your phone number?
Did you have him sign a contract saying you bought it from him or get any proof that you did buy it from him?
He got my phone number because I am a dumb nut and I decided to call him from my other phone. There is proof that he sold it to me because I recorded the phone calls and it says he sold it to me.
Re: Bought a phone from someone, he wants it back???
In my opinion I would keep it. A person like that I would keep it just to really annoy. If he calls the cops what aren't they going to do. You can explain the story and then either you will keep the phone or they will take the phone and you get your money. All in all it is a win win for you. I would also not reply to him lol. Happened to me before but I just ignored them. No cops came thankfully.
Btw what phone did you buy. I bet he wants it back as he's used all the money lol. May not be but sounds like it.

Well honestly if someone desperately sold you the device for 40 they probably are strung out on drugs.
If you have proof of you're gain(the phone) and his gain (money) and normally a witness would be perfect but if he's trying all this I might just sell it back. He probably try to assault you or break windows, but if you really want to keep it record a convo with him acting like you stated then call and have a restraining order placed.

you're = you are (You're using "you're" incorrectly.)
where as
your = the possessive form of the word you (Using the word you're in this case was your mistake.)
This concludes Storm's "you're, your, yore" class for the day.

Did you get a receipt?
If not, burn the phone, head south of the equator for some cheap plastic surgery and wait for this to blow over.

Stolen phone - HELP?

Guys I've been had...purchased a phone from Gumtree cash on collection on 17th and it's stopped working today reported as lost or stolen...
As dreaded the phone has been blocked... So it's definitely fraud.. What are my options.... I'd like to report to the police but not sure if they'll do anything...
Has anyone had a similar experience, is there anyway of finding out the insurance company as I'd like to tell them it's fraud...?
Are the police likely to take the phone off me even if I don't get my money back?
I do have some emails, telephone number and address of the seller... Btw it was gumtree where I purchased from...
Also is it better to contact seller first to see if he'll give the money back (highly unlikely) or will that tip him off...?
Any advice would be much appreciated....

I'm not sure how gum tree works, but I had a similar experience buying from Cex. I simply took the phone back as they said the sale is fraudulent and they swapped the handset. Hopefully gum tree offer buyer support of some description.
It is definitely fraud but I'd contact gum tree first

Good luck man. Hope it all pans out. . .
Did you actually go in the house? Ring the number if he answers tell him what's happened and see what he says.
IMHO I don't see how your gonna get your money back but I'd contact the police asap they should be able to tell you more

I don't really want to go to house by myself in case it gets nasty or tip him off prior to notifying the police... I do have some emails from him and also a mobile number I dialled when I went to pick up the phone...

If you've got their address etc then it'll help the police more. Not sure how you go about getting your money back though

That's a very naive and stupid thing to do. To be brutally honest, it's your own fault that you didn't see this potentially being a scam. Many people, myself included, would not even consider buying from someone on the street, which is basically what you did. They took you to a set of doors which probably wasn't even theirs. Easier then going to the front door of an house right? You took the risk to purchase the phone knowing once you have it, anything could happen and that you have nothing to go against except a dodgy PAY&GO number, some throw away emails addresses, and most likely a fake address.
Again, to be honest, sadly the police are very unlikely to help you, even with the emails that you have, or the phone number. Since an insurance claim requires reporting it to the police, the police will likely have a record of the phone being reported as lost/stolen. They will simply take the phone from you and return it to the owner, and they could even charge you for handling stolen goods. Your proof (emails, phone number) isn't good enough to prove that you are a victim of a scam and therefore they will not waste time to investigate on the little leads you have.
Lesson learnt. Take it on the chin n move on.
PS: GumTree wouldn't help you. It's none of their business at the end of the day. They provide u a free service and what happens is beyond their control.

Thanks for your advice although not what I wanted to hear.. They said they were putting lunch out for the kids and would come to the door, they had their front door open and went back up the stairs.... I did ask the seller if it was his own phone and not stolen etc at the time of buying....which they said it's not!
The phone worked for nearly a week so how could police accuse me buying stolen phone when I went to such lengths to try ensure it wasn't?
