Lets try this again. If you're in an EU member state and have received Gingerbread via Kies click on your country click it's name. This way all the idiots who didn't read the OP in this thread won't spoil it for the rest of us.
If you'e not on the list blame them not me.
So if I want to find out if anybody in Norway has gotten the update I need to start a new post?
If you like. There's a 50 option limit so I chose to do the EU.
Why not start a thread asking where everyone lives and pick the 50 highest. Then you can answer questions from countries you missed too.

Shouldn't you vote for product codes not countries, I have understood that Kies is upgrading based on product codes (CSC's)...
Like I have two Samsung toys (phone and tab) but different product codes.

Hi,
After reading this post forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731462
and seeing that alot of people have problems with thier gps signal and this being a possible fix. I am in the process of making a program that will change the standard north-america pool.ntp to other countries/ regions at the moment i have uk and Europe. But i am aware that the galaxy s is a internatiol phone.
So if users could reply to this thread with request's to which ntp servers they want that would be much appreciated the only reason i dont want to add all servers is because they are many countries in the world and i dont really want to add countries like Iceland were people arnt likely to have the galaxy s.
So can you just look at this site w.w.w.pool.ntp.org/en/
and post which ntp.server you would like adding.
I will be releasing the program later today.
Thanks
Dan
just use the top level one pool.ntp.org

Hi all,
I'm currently awaiting my shiny new Galaxy S, and in the meantime am reading feverishly anywhere and everywhere about what's possible and what can be done.
What I'm asking in this thread is simply advise on what sequence I should do things to get it right and avoid dramas.
To give the story, I've ordered an Irish voda i9000 which is currently winging it's way to me here in NZ, of course there will be an obligatory upgrade to froyo as well as an unlock....but heres where things get intresting....
Should I bother changing the product code? If so to what nationality, is there a good cover all international code, or should I just go with the NZ voda code?
Should I bother with firmware flashes, and if so I presume odin is the one to go with?
It may be that what I'm asking is fairly obvious, so just to run it by you what I think the line of actions might be:
Upgrade to froyo using voda.ie's version
Unlock
root
Change product code?
Firmware?
Apps
?????
PROFIT!!!
Basically any input you can give to avoid first timer mistakes would be golden to me. Cheers.
Why chose BGJP4 as the basis for Icarus and now Jupiter Overcome? I think it is for Spanish firmware?(Telefonica). Are the developers Spanish? If not then how did they know that this particular version of Gingerbread is the most stable? Have they tried the latest gingerbread which is DXJPE. It is Asian but it happens to be the latest/newest.....
Cool story bro

FAIL!!!!!!!
No we are not spanish (as far as I know lol). We tested the carrier BGJP4 firmware and found it more stable and snappier than the stock JQ1 (probably due to extensive testing made by spanish carrier).
Overcome has a wide user base and since asian firmware have limited locales. The decision was made to follow Euro firmwares as they contain widest range of locales to suit as much users as possible.
I cannot argue about users of overcome or to some extent galaxy tab users as I don't have figures available but judging from the development of Gingerbread for Asia which happened 3 x during the past 2 months(JPC,JPD,then JPE) then Samsung might have reasons for doing so. I can only "assume" that there are more Asian users than other areas in the world.
Notice also that I did not ask this question under the Jupiter thread in development section as I have read the "rant" of thePitBull about so many questions asked there. I don't want to piss off the developers. Yet I cannot help but question why the reluctance to use other versions aside from European ones.
Thepittbull justified rant was against those who troll or throw in destructive criticism like this rom sux etc NOT on those who ask legitmate questions. Apparently you are quiet new to overcome. We have adopted the asian 2.2.1 line of rom in froyo overcome ROM. Alterbridge86 made an astronomical efforts in trying to integrate other locales into the asian rom and that included decompiling apk by apk but it was a total mess as some apps didnt work or accept new locales. On release of GB and after delibration it was decided that the European ROM be adopted for the forementioned reason
PS I understand that the asian firmware has alot of perks (I personally flashed korean firmwares on other samsung devices and it was awesome) but in this case we have to look at the bigger picture here.
Thank you for patiently replying.

LOL.... @Bongski, please note that I don't have issues when people ask pertinent questions like the one you asked here. It's when people ask "how do I xxx" or things that's been answered a dozen times "like why can't Nova/Asphalt" work on Overcome Gingerbread... when it's been dealt with a thousand times over, that it gets me in a grumpy mood. And it's usually on release days that it tends to happens. Yeah... PMS!
But please do not hesitate to ask if you've got a pertinent question there. How do you know it's pertinent? Someone from the team will usually answer! BTW, I think I'm gonna repost this question on our thread before someone else asked it there... just so that people will know the rationale.

Excuse my noobness, but Titanium Backup is able to backup locales. I restored a German locale in Dip7 DXJPE ROM even though German is not included in this ROM. Also there are Apps with which one can custamize locales and which also ship with a lot of locales (at least thats what the market description sais).
Couldn't one just use one of the aforementioned ways to integrate more locales in asian based ROMs? I ask because there are some minor things which work in Dip7's DXJPE ROM by default but not in Overcome, like playing 1080p flash videos in browser smoothly and having apps show up in battery usage statistics. I don't think this is just due to Dip7's modding (maybe I'm wrong).
These are just minor things and I'm overall very happy with the Overcome experience, but as bongski, I also think using the latest samsung source as basis for OC ROMs definately has advantages.
Hi everyone. This is not a random post, i was advised to ask this question in this forum by another member of the forum, so i am sorry if this is a duplicate of the origonal post.I am desperately trying to find the answer to this question and I am running out of time. I am presently on holiday in the U.S. and I have calculated that i can buy a Galaxy Tab 7 Plus in the U.S. for the equivalent of around £ 280.00. That is a huge saving on the U.K. Price. However I want to make sure that the Tab will be compatible with the U.K. Google Market first. I just want to make sure that as the device will be software registered as a U.S. device it will allow me to use the U.K. Market. I.e. location specific apps e.g. BBC iplayer et al. Or is there a work around? The other member suggested that I may have to do a reset of the device once I get back to the U.K. Otherwise there shouldn't be a problem. Anyone able to provide a definitive answer? Thank you in advance and again sorry that this duplicated in another thread but I am only doing as I'm advised.
you may have to modify what market you attach to. I think it might be based on your IP mainly.
Hello, I'm from the site 4pda.ru. We, all the owners of this device have on our site, the collection of signatures to update Official firmware to 2.3.7 or to 4.0. I want to invite you to join us, what would the developers from Samsung heard us and finally released the official version software. After the collection of signatures will be created the document, in which we announced his request and then send the document with an attached link to the company Samsung. here can look at our example. If you support our idea, then please choose the person who will be able to making the theme for the collection of signatures. Do not judge strictly for my English, I'm from Russia. If you have any questions, ask, I will try to answer.

Hi.
Your "english" is really hard to understand
I've seen ideas like this one before.
Example - Unavailability of ICS on groubal.
I think corporations like Samsung don't give a s**t about what You want.
They just make money.
Ofcourse You can always try but is it worth it ?
I've heard that S5830i graphic chip is better than S5830's but it still doesn't have full working drivers..
If that's true then i don't think Samsung is going to do anything more for this device.
That's my opinion.
