[Q] GPS scans for satellites then dead without fix ...help?p - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
Just encountered a problem yesterday on the road...
1. Turned on GPS icon (the gps icon on taskbar is blinking) so far everything is ok
2. turned on GPS Status application
3. started to locate satellites... one... two... three... four
SUDDENLY
4. gps icon on daskbar dissapeared
5. Gps status showed no sattelites (not even a one grey bar)
I tried to turn off and on gps - the same thing - 10 seconds of scanning, than dead silence...
restarted Galaxy Tab - no change
plug in the car charger - no change
charged Tab to 100% via car charger - no change
(turned on gps on my ol htc diamond - fix in 2 seconds)
in about 2 hours tried something different: turned off all 3G and then turned on GPS - fix in few seconds both on GPS Status and iGo
ok, so 3G was a problem - i thought...
To check my idea,, i've restarted Galaxy Tab, turned on 3G and then turned on GPS - fix in a seconds...
So, if anyone can tell me why???
is this really 3G fault, or what?
help?

Problems with LED and sleep mode

Hey everyone!
I've problems with right LED indicator. ex. If I turn wifi connenction ON, the right LED indicator starts blinking, what means that the wifi connection is ON. But when I turn device to stand-by( sleep mode), the right LED indicator stops blinking, what means that my wifi is OFF. So, if I I turn tytn on the sleep mode, I've no internet connection anymore, and I can't recieve emails.
Can anyone help me please to make LED blinking again?
PS. In the beginning was everything allright (the LED indicator was always blinking when device was in sleep mode and wifi was ON.
PS 2. I've tried to hard reset the device twice, but it doesn't helped.
Thanks for your help!
I've just found out that if I put earphones in the device, and turn stand-by on, the problem dissapear.
I don't know what else have to do.
Wifi doesn't normally stay on while in sleep mode, hence the disconnection when it goes to sleep mode. However, you can change that with Kaisertweak, there is an option in there to keep wifi on in standby mode.

But the first week was everything ok. The wifi connection was always on, even in stand-by. This is not normal. I've seen some video reviews on youtube, and there was also everything ok. I saw right LED pinking when TYTN was in sleep mode.

GPS problem with Garmin Mobile XT V5.00.10wp.

I downloaded Garmin Mobile XT V5.00.10wp from Garmin website and use Jetmouse keygen to get the serial no. The applicant is running fine with the power plug in but if the phone runs on the battery , it will turn the GPS off between 3-5minutes. I have this problem since with the old version.
Is anyone know why is that happen ?
In 3-5 minutes the phone do enter in standby mode and the built in GPS turn off.
A solution is a Car Charger for the phone or unmark in Start/System/Power > advanced section, the option: Turn off device if not used for x minutes (where x is a time in minutes)
In any way a Car Charger is a great idea because the GPS drains the battery quickly.
i have the same problem but mine takes 15-20 min to work

I do need it for the bush walking sometime where I cant bring the charger with me
Really love the look of the new version http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3389
Do you know why it is only happen with Garmin ? It is work fine with Tomtom and IGO8. I dont need to untick the external power option.
Go to Tools / Settings / Display / Backlight Override and check Always On box
I had the same problem this summer while I was driving I noticed from time to time that the Tytn II was turning off the battery from charging and the gps was shutting down. So I realized that the screen is always on, the battery is charging and the gps chip is always on so the phone has termal protection and it's turning off the charger and the gps because the device is overheated.
I hope this will solve yours problem.

Navigation brings the D2 to weird behaviour??

guys,
i think i'll have to report a strange behaviour (maybe functional error) of my D2.
i've tried to use it as a navigation device. from my colleagues i've heard that the D1 was heating up and crashing after a few hours of navigation (with the device connected to the car charger) - but i thought this issue was addressed and solved by HTC..
so my experience:
conditions:
- nav application: iGo 8 (v.8.3.2.83157)
- battery: charged full (while navigating, the D2 was not connected to the car charger)
- D2 was in direct sunlight, being positioned above the car's board
what happened:
after aprox. 1hr of driving, suddenly the device shut the screen off. then reappeared for 1 second, the disappeared again and kept "blinking" like this. i've tried to press the on/off button, nothing happened. then suddenly the charging LED started blinking going from green to red light, then on and off. the D2 got pretty much hot, but not THAT hot.
so, is this a device error? a software problem? a lack of compatibility between the D2 and iGo(8)? - here i must admit that i've used this device with the same software on another route (duration ca. 2hrs) where it went perfectly - batter went from 100% to 9%. no problems whatsoever there.
please help...

hmmmz, those are quality services which i don't know if apply here in Romania.
i have the device for more than 2 weeks now, so i guess i'll get only a service check from the company that offers warranty services here in Romania.
anyway, what i checked today is that i went into iGo application (to get the correct version to post it here) and stayed in the "About" window for a longer period...and guess what, the screen started flashing again?!?! (only this time the red and green LEDs weren't flashing) - so this time the device was not stressed at all, i thought it was an iGo error. so i "reseted" the application, and now it seems to work OK.
i will have to do another longer period testing of the navigation process, again in direct sunlight, to see if it was only this software problem or if it is really a device error (caused by heating)...

[Q] google nav problems

Hi guys im having issues when using google nav on my tab.
It seems to work on the car dock until the battery is fully charged, then the screen dims so its impossible to see the program.
Ive manually set the screen to max, and put the timeout to 1 hr but it still fades after a few mins making the sat nav useless. Removing the dock plug then re inserting it seems to work for a few mins but it still fades. Ive noticed though it only ever occurs when the battery is fully charged.
Im using the latest overcome kratos - im having to use my dhd to do sat nav at the moment as the tab has become unrelaible.
Anyone had this and fixed it?
ive got a 3 hr car journey on monday and the tab is my perferred unit so please help..
thanks

Have to cycle WiFi to get connection.

Occasionally I have to cycle the WiFi on my vivid to get connected to the internet. It isn't only when coming from WiFi sleep. It sometimes happens during use. The notification icon shows that I'm connected, I just get pages not loading and data errors. Is this a vivid thing or do I blame my home WiFi (2 different routers)?
I'd rather be brewing
I've never had this issue , mine always auto connects when in range but what I would do is put the power widget on one of the home screens and just click it off and back on if that helps
