Hi,
I have a Google Nexus One with a MoDaCo ROM running Android 2.3.3 and I was wondering if someone could help me, or direct me to a link where they will tell you how to edit the power menu (Airplane mode, silent mode, power off) because I don't want the reboot option.
Thanks.

Hello ppl..
I got a strange problem. My phone is able to go to recovery mode and download mode after I power-off my device. It's ok till this stage.
But when I long press the power button when the phone is running I got some options like silent mode flight mode etc.. and reboot, recovery and download mode. When I choose recovery or download the phone just reboots and does nothing. Do u got any idea about what's wrong with it? Ty for your help..

Can you write more about ROM which you use?
As far as I know there isn't any options which allows you to go into recovery or download mode from running OS (but I might be wrong). CPU detects signals from buttons: vol up, vol down, home, power and decide in which mode run phone (download, recovery or standard boot).
Do you really need recovery and download mode working from power menu? Do you flash your phone so often?

Its the extended power menu application that is faulty .
You have installed it so reinstall or reflash the rom it came with .

Im using insanity v.0.5.3
I never installed extended power menu app. Yeah im flashing my phone so often Kernels new roms etc. I think I broke something on root but dunno what..
If you have more than the stock power menu then its from a cooked rom .

Reflash the rom mate.
The power menu you are using is a part of the rom you are using, its obviously not working properly.
I tried to reflash, installed another rom (doc's rom) but it wasnt working on the other rom too..

Go into settings and turn off 'fastboot mode'. I think its in power settings ? Been a long time since I looked for it.

You want to go into recovery mode?
make sure fast boot is unchecked in power settings
turn your phone off
take the battery out to make sure its off
put it back in and hold volume down + power for about 4 seconds until you come to a white screen
And provided you have a custom recovery installed, use volume and power buttons to go to recovery
hope that answered your question

A simply Google search would provide you with the answer. ClockworkMod and 4Ext are 2 of the options you have.
You also could have found the information by simply reading the sticky posts in the section and the Development section.
You can use this method without disabling fastboot option in settings. Just click "reboot" and wait all lights are turned off. On the time, press and hold "volume down" immediately and wait for three android at the bottom on the screen. If you saw them, you suceed. Reboot option is fully turn off the phone and turn on with a fresh workspace for the booting. Just like a computer.

Easiest way to get a recovery is to download rom manager from the market/play store and flash recovery from within the app
you need to be rooted though
Hi xda members,
I have a problem with my O4X after trying out "simulate secondary display" option in developer settings, now I have loop boot animation.. How do I fix this? I'm running latest nightlies Vanir ROM.
I tried:
- reflash
- cache wipe
Thanks!
Somehow I managed to enter Safe Mode and disable secondary screen option
Steps:
1. Power button
2. After device was on, boot animation was still running
3. Power off and hold Vol+ and Vol-
4. Disable simulate secondary screen

EDIT: I found the solution, I don't know why but it didn't work for me. So I continuosly pressed the menu button when after restarting the smartphone until the end, et voità , safe mode. I deactivated the secondary screen option and everything went back to normal.

Hello,
I have Galaxy tab S2 which the volume up button are not working, I can enter recivery mode with 3rd app but after enter the recovery mode and I want to enter the download mode, they say that I should press volume up button to enter the download mode.
So how do I confirm to enter the download mode if my volume up button are not working?
Thank you and I would really appreciate it if someone can help me, since Im new in this android thing.
hello
to enter in the download mode you have to use the Home + Power + Volume-
if your tab s2 is rooted you can use x fast boot available in the play store
you can use recovery mode and download mode directly
