[Q] Lg optimus one vs lg optimus me - Off-topic

Please users, tell me which phone is better. I wanna buy one of these 2 phones.
I wanna use it mainly for graphics, apps to sd, root, custom roms, and games. Emulators too. Also can someone confirm how is psx4droid, n64oid and nds4droid working?
I documented myself and found that lg optimus one has 2.3, bigger screen, but 600 mhz, and optimus me has 800 mhz.
Plz respond quickly, the offer ends tomorrow, and i'm gonna buy it tomorrow night!

Planning to buy optimus black

Hi everyone I want to know the performance of LG optimus black.
I m planning to buy it but I n confused in black n nexus s which one OS better as per gaming performance....
Optimus black is able to run samurai vengeance game ?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
yes, it can run samurai II
The Nexus S has a slightly newer GPU with SGX 540 while the Optimus Black has SGX 530. It can play samurai vengeance.
Motorola defy plus have 2 gb internal storage ,512 RAM n 1 gb Rom ....can anyone please clear this that which one is better defy plus or optimus black....? Thanks
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
The Defy + has a TI OMAP 3620 Processor which is older than the Optimus Black* which has a TI OMAP 3630 but both 1GHz. It has the same GPU i think (PowerVR SGX530). Correct me if Im wrong. Optimus Black also has 2GB Internal Storage but 1GB* Usable. Also has 512MB Ram. Same 3G Download speed but a slightly slower upload speed on the Defy+. Same camera megapixels, bluetooth etc.
So I guess the Optimus Black is better... unless you want shockproof, water resistant etc.
if you want more support from devs then go for nexus S (i even think that ICS is coming up for it compared to LG black which is still stuck on froyo)..
anyways i liked the design of LG black and has gorilla glass compared to the oleophobic screen of nexus S..

LG O2X vs Nexus S

Hey folks, I'm hopping over to a new provider and they're offering me a smartphone, free of charge, and the list boils down to the LG O2X or the Nexus S (the two phones are priced the same according to this provider). I currently have a Galaxy S but it's not compatible with the new provider's bands.
On paper, the LG O2X seems to be the sound winner, but we all know that here at XDA hardware specs aren't everything.
I'd like to ask how the custom firmware selection is like with the LG O2X? Is it as easy to flash as the SGS and the Nexus S? How's the stock LG firmware? What are the ups and downs of the LG O2X?
Thanks
As a O2x owner, i say: GO FOR NEXUS S!!!
honestly, as long as nvidia doesnt release its sources,
go for nexus s.
will save you alot of headache
on paper o2x wins in specs
currently its performance is much better, but on updates and future custom rom development, its tied down because of nvidia

Thats correct nvidia sucks. The driver lines are not gona be relased .

if u can wait for CM9 on O2x, better buy this phone
but if u want the latest and fastest upgrade, go for nexus
Majority here doesn't seem to be speaking too highly of the O2X, which is surprising since its specs are better than the Nexus S'... Would you guys say that the lack of support from nVidia is a deal breaker here? I'm also wondering how the 1080p video recording is like on the O2X since the Nexus S doesn't even record in 720p
I had a Nexus S for about a week before I got my O2X, the O2X is better, but the Nexus S has better stock software.
I wasn't interested in stock, so that made no difference to me.
go for lx o2x
now i`m using 2 phones: o2x and galaxy S
the o2x loads everything faster than the galaxy , even the original android apps (market , contacts )
both phones are running miui and as I said , o2x is better.
If you don't wanna flash anything but stock, go for the Nexus S.
If you are gonna flash a custom rom, O2X is just better in every field.
I actually think O2X is still the best Quality/Price on the market, if you are gonna play with custom roms.
Actually I'm on rooted stock gb 20m. I prefer this over the other roms I have tried. I also think the O2x is the best deal there is.
As a os2x owner I can tell you without a doubt go for it.
The only advantage you get from the Nexus is ICS, which, if you face reality, really isnt enough of a reason to buy worse hardware.
Os2x is nicely supported on CM7 and works great there, the Tegra2 gpu gives you exclusive access to several titles that utilize Nvidia extensions and overall you will have nice lagfree package with it.

Nexus S with no doubt. Even has more memory to use.
I have both.
if you want to use stock ROM, go for Nexus S (it already have official ICS now).
if you want to use custom ROMs, go for O2X. you can learn a lot of things with it.

No. No it does not.
It has the exact same amount to use. Exactly. The Nexus S has 512MB total, with 128MB reserved for the GPU. Identical to the O2X's config.

I guess he ment on internal storage. 8vs.16.
P.s. One off topic question. I thought that "reserved ram for gpu" is only with tegra SoC. Do all SoC reserve from "specified" ram for gpu?

Im planning to get this :) help me

Hi guys, im new to this forum I want to get an optimus black. So plz be patient and answer some of my questions
1. Is the screen good looking? Like clear and no pixels, u know what i mean, a crispy display XD
2. Can i install games like nova2, temple run and many other graphics requiring games from playstore? Any performance or lag issues? <---- This is most important for me.
3. Is the camera good? I mean recording is in HD right?
4. Is the GPU good? cause i never heard of it XP
Anything u think could have made the phone better?
And finally do we have very nice custom ROMS? I bet ICS is still in beta... and we wont get official ICS right?
Edit: OKAY LG Oblack HEREEE I COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMEEE XDDD
Thank you v much guys

Thats reassuring man. Thank you. Expecting further encouragements XD
1- This display is one of the best, a friend of mine with SGSII agrees and another with HTC EVO agrees too
2.- I have nova2 and runs very smooth, pes12, fifa12, fieldrunners, osmosHD, asphalt6, minigore... you get the point, as every device it shows a bit of lag at some specific points but mostly when loading new stage or checkpoint
3.- Camera is awesome, you can check out the thread "post your pictures" [or something like that] at general forum
4.- is simply amazing
5.- go buy it already
NOVA is " Excellent High Quality Display" and save energy
Good performance to play game. I played some game you say and feel smooth
Camera is good too. but have litte dark.
GPU ~ Galaxy S ( PowerVR SGX530 vs 540)
We have nice custom ROMs
we will get ICS, but the biggest issue is LG. Yeah. LG is King of delay )
the phone is great, will get ics and as they said run games smooth
but if you'll use it for the coming years, go for a dual or quad core phone
but still, this phone is great
i sold my optimus 3D(had a good offer) but won't sell my Optimus Black

I think ICS LG OB finally not get officially, and I think that is not something to look forward from LG just look how badly ICS works with the new model LG Optimus L5...: (
LG OB are yet to be excellent especially display!
It WILL get official ics

The Phone is full value for money. Very Sleek, Stylish, light weight and an awesome display. Average Sound
LG promised official ICS. This time the delay is from TI who supplied chipset for the device.
But better than all these is the Community support. We have an amazing developer community here
Compared to the l5, this is twice the price and much more powerful

This phone is really good, and the best for its price.
The screen of OB is excellent, and it's the brightest screen you can find today
The only disadvantage is the hardware, which is nice but not the best (1Ghz single core)
But if you look for the best smartphones nowadays, buy Samsung Galaxy Siii or LG 4X HD.

Lg optimus 2x still worth to buy in 2012?

Hey guys, I'm planning to sell my xperia mini pro to buy lg optimus 2x. I think optimus 2x is a perfect phone for me.
It has dual core, nvidia chipset tegra 2 I think which is good for gaming, 8mp, hdmi which is real important for me, big screen 4 inch.
I have no problems on my current phone xperia mini pro, been using it almost a year. Its just that a small screen phone is just not for me. And gaming sometimes can be really lags on it especially newer high end games because it only has single core processor. To overlock it and to install a custom rom and kernel is not easy on the xmp you need to unlock bootloader and that ****. But it is rooted.
I choose lg optimus 2x for my next phone. I used to own lg optimus one before i sell it to buy xmp. I love to install custom roms and kernel it because it is easy unlike sony ericsson you need to unlock bootloader. Is it easy to install a custom kernel and roms just as easy as my old optimus one?
To all 2x users, what you don't like and what is your problem about the phone? Thank you

For me it's a very good phone, but lg's software is not very good, infact i'm using temasek's CM7.. And we not have ICS yet.. Another thing is battery life, if you use it intensively and with 3g connection, you are fortunate if arrive at the end of day
Hope i have helped you.. if yes press the thanks button xD :victory:
I had bought the optimus 2x in end of December2011. ICS was promised by q2 but we hav not yet got it & the most imp is that d drivers r missing.
Hardware wise its a beast but lack of drivers makes optimus behind as per the current market. Wait till we receive an official ICS from LG.
If u r buying a new 2x dont go for it unless u r getting it cheap or wait till we hav official ics..

It's a pretty good phone still. Zippy, and doesn't really lag on cm7.
I would still buy it if I would get it for reasonable price. I bought mine as used in the November 2011. I paid 200€ for it and it was like a new because it had screen changed recently. (Now I've got few small scratches on it. But thankfully you need to look with light to find them. :crying
I'll think that I made a good choise because by that time used SGS2 phones prices started from 350€+ and the O2X isn't really that different. Only not so good thing is Nvidia... But the 2D HW acceleration and non functional video recording isn't that dramatical. But always remember that we will get the ICS sooner or later and our devs will cook JB for us after that
BTW: One month ago we got the O2X at sale for 150€ at our local carriers shop. And that price was without simlock and plan.
Currently I can't find other phone with that good price/HW ratio. The most comparable phone in the category as new is the HUAWEI U8860 but even that costs 250€
It isn't still worth to buy in middle 2012, it is worth to buy for the first time since this phone came out.
There are many good ROMs and kernels available now and ICS will be there in a matter of days or weeks.
So yes, buy it
No, don't buy it. You'd buy a pig in a poke, not knowing whether and when LG will realease ICS. Better invest in a Nexus or some good device of the Samsung Galaxy series (S2 or S3).
(I would only buy it for less than 100€)

Whether? LG has already officially confirmed that we get ICS in the nex time.
Additionally today they uploaded the first v30 ROM on their servers which will 99,9% be official ICS. For the korean version at least.

Nice :good:
Leaked kdz will come soon
No.
I got mine for a cheap price and Im VERY happy with it. Im currently using CM7.2 stable and the performance and battery are great. I find the 2X very pretty and it has a good camera too, plus it has FM radio wich I use a lot
I also have an Atrix 4G. IT has more ram (1GB) but in general I find the 2X runs smoth and faster
ICS is really taking a long time to get released but Im sure were getting it in the next month
If you find one for a good price I say go for it
Just dont buy it! i dont like this phone at all.. buggy and laggy.. i bought O2x this year and used it like 3 month and came back to my htc desire which is much better..

A) you haven't gotten it yet so don't count your chickens before they hatch
B) because LG's first attempt at Gingerbread was so awesome, we can automatically assume ICS will be equally awesome !

But the available ROMs meanwhile are awesome - even if ICS still would need months, there would be smooth and snappy Gingerbread ROMs - if one buys the phone NOW he'd already start with good ROMs, so why shouldn't he?
No, just no. Besides the obvious software problems, LG also cut a lot of corners in hardware. Yes, the IPS screen still looks good today, but 512MB RAM is just unforgivable. I also suspect LG used low grade flash memory which exacerbated the lagginess.
It depends on what price you're getting it for.
And if you're doing a lot of 3G network, then i'd suggest no cause there's a risk that the radio gets cranky.

The internal flash memory of O2X is of high quality. It is better than class 10 SD 2.0 - you can test this with any performance benchmark.
It was the world's first dual-core phone, the 512 MB Ram at the time of release really weren't that bad. And they still are enough for ICS, just try CM9. Useless LG apps will be removed anyway from custom stock ROMs and custom kernels will get Ramhack and virtual Ram enhancements so effectively useable RAM is far higher.
Maybe get a Galaxy s2?
I bought it 3 months ago at the price of 150 EUR. Currently I run CM9 Kang V30. Very smooth, play asphalt 6, reptide, golf 3, gun shadow ... with ease, I think ICS (at least CM9) even much faster than stock 2.3.4 v20, and definitely more beautiful. Only I can not play or record video which I dont quite need. So all in all very good price vs performance. Never regret since.

For video playback - mx player with its codec. For recording - video cam illusion. I tested it on Paranoid Android ROM and it recorded smooth video with 640 resolution. So all in all Paranoid android at least has it all working. I came back to my MIUI based 2.3.7 rom though. Just addicted to its eyecandy.
As for is it worth it I'd say yes. But. Only if you find it in good condition and for around $200 or less.

Help, LG optimus P970 Black

Hello,
I need some help, Recently i just sold my Htc Explorer. It was one of my favourite mobile, i kept that mobile with love :crying:
I rooted that mobile and installed ICS
Now i am thinking to buy LG optimus P970 . I read reviews about this mobile. It has the brightest Nova display with 1 ghz processor
Do i buy it? please suggest me what are the disadvantages coz i never used any mobile of LG. I will be really grateful please guide me
Secondly, what is GPU and chipset.
I read that it can be upgraded to ICS ? Can it be ?
I am an advanced user who wants mobile for normal use & gaming. I want a fast and smooth mobile and i think that LG optimus black is best for me
My range is 10,000 rupees
In us Dollars = 99.9800
I had ob, and it was a good phone and new owner is happy with it now. All i havê to complain is about the black of support by LG. All the hard work of optimizing this phone And maintain it usable trought the time was made by the developers from here. Why dont u keep looking a little more. A think nexus s could be good for u, with a similar hardware just a little bit old than black.
