I have been trying to get ad-hoc working on this tab, but I haven't gotten it working yet. I did manage to break the wifi though so I want to do a clean reformat of the stock firmware.
I saw there was a thread for the P1000L/N, but I can't use those. I also checked the samfirmware.com, but I didn't see my device listed.
Does someone know where I can get this file?
Thanks,

I have successfully installed the Roto/JMI v2 Rom on my Verizon Galaxy Tab.
It seems to work, but somehow I lost my modem. Where can I find the CSC/Phone firmware to reflash using Heimdall?

did you roto back first before anything?
Here is the modem.bin file extracted from my Verizon GTab. It worked to fix my modem when I mistakenly placed the zImage file in modem slot for Heimdall.
Used 7z to compress. Just uncompress and use Heimdall to update.
Let me know if this works for you...
when I use that modem.bin, heimdall with go to install it then sit at 100% but doesn't actually install it. It locks up, when I restart I get the phone exclamation mark computer error picture.

Hmm, that shouldn't happen. How long did you wait? Heimdall will wait quite some time (sometimes 5 minutes or more) for the phone to respond. If the phone doesn't respond in this time then you should see an error message.
Anyway if the modem flash did actually make it to 100% then you should be able to use the command line tool directly to just get rid of the phone exclamation screen:
heimdall close-pc-screen

Thanks for your response. I ended up re-flashing the Stock Firmware, and it worked.
I appreciate your help.

Golden422 - How did you do this, what files did you use?
I have the exact same problem you were having, no luck for me.
I still stuck on airplane mode with no GPS.
If it means anything, under "About device" I have unknown Baseband and Hardware versions.
Thanks in advance.

Same. I have no 3G network. I am also stuck at the 100% loading screen. Help would be awesome.
You guys should check out the Gingerbread leak for VZW that Oldmacnut posted in the development section. It's a full stock GB rom. Otherwise I'd recommend his Better Than Life rom. The stock GB should get you back up and running, then you can figure out what you want to do from there. There's also a stock Froyo rom floating around here for the VZW tabs as well. The Sprint rom breaks the VZW tab's 3g, known issue. You always want to try and get the stock rom for your specific tab.
The Sprint install breaks my modem? How unfortunate. Anyway how do I put a band-aid on it to fix it? Lol
Hope I don't have to send it back to get it fixed...
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App

Oldmacnut is my hero! Love the GB release too.
Hi All,
I bought the Bell version of the phone (Vibrant) because I wanted the front facing camera... Then unlocked and rooted it and inserted my Rogers SIM and have had no issues for quite a while. I successfully loaded Froyo when it became available on Kies without any sd problems. (had to re-root but no big deal).
Now I understand that Bell has released Gingerbread via Kies, but when I open Kies, it doesn't recognize my firmware at all... just shows blank.
I un-rooted and erased all data to see if that would allow me the upgrade but still nothing...
Can anyone offer any assistance or have the files that I can install using a different method?
Much appreciated,
Jamie
Use the search Luke....
Seriously, there is a huge thread detailing Bell's KG3, including dumps you can flash with Odin instead of using Kies. The best part? Even though it is only 9 posts down from yours, I ever got you the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211939
If you don't want to use KG3, just flash any of the Gingerbread roms in the development forum and flash an appropriate modem. 99% of those threads include flashing instructions.

Thanks,
I did read most of that thread but can't find anyone else who's using a Rogers SIM on an i9000m... I don't like or use Kies very often and I'm getting annoyed that it won't seem to even read my current firmware. MyPhoneExplorer seems to read it just fine but Kies seems to only want to be some kind of media toy.
I will borrow a Bell SIM to see if it will recognize long enough to use the Kies update, and if that fails I'll flash with Odin.
I assume I'll have to root again once I flash?

Yes you will.
make sure you have the latest version of kies, also make sure your csc is set to BMC (open dialer *#272*"your imei"*), select BMC and isntall that will factory reset your phone btw... after that it should work... I am not sure that a Rogers Sim card is affecting it, have you tried just pulling the SIM altogether and connecting? Are you running any custom ROMs currently or have you in the past? Maybe flash back to UGKC1 with Odin if you are and then use Kies to update.
Ended up finding some detailed instructions on "MostlyIrrelevant" for installing 2.3.4 with a Rogers (and Bell) supported Modem. a couple more steps to install the ROM, but it's a deodexed version of the international release with the bloatware removed and TW Launcher removed and replaced by TouchWiz... nicely also has CWM and Titanium in it too, so flashes are much easier from now on. (small workaround to get Bluetooth working but the solution was also in the comments section.) Next step to get back a couple pieces of Samsung bloatware back on... mostly SocialHub and Samsung e-mail... so I can connect all my contact lists and e-mail accounts into one place. I bookmarked the link to Pharaohnough's posting of the apks for these apps (THANKS!) that I want back but will have to wait 'till after work to try them.
Hey folks. I basically just want Gingerbread on my phone, but I'm having issues doing it through Kies as it won't recognize the current firmware when I connect.
I'm not able to flash to JF6 in Odin OneClick without getting an ATT boot screen and nothing more.
Apparently I need to have JF6 in order to get Kies to recognize the phone. I'd like to get this done today (Been two weeks without full function), and I'm thinking I just want to flash to a good rom that runs 2.3.
Is there anything I can do to flash to something other than I896UXJL1-stock or I896UXJI2 TORONTO? These flash well, but are not what I was looking for. Again, I'm going to need something that doesn't require JF6, or another method to get JF6 on without getting stuck at the ATT screen.
Any flash with Odin does not require you to be on a prerequisite firmware, it will flash over whatever you're running.
Go to the Dev section, find a gingerbread firmware with bootloaders included, put phone in download mode and flash.
Full List of Necessary Files for Successful Flash
Okay, I've been browsing around, trying to find something suitable, but now it would seem that I'm not able to flash anything except for the OneClick method which gives me that ATT screen.
I read somewhere that later editions of the Captivate may not work out well with certain Odin flashes. I think my phone is 1038?
I'm hoping that someone might be good enough to show me how to get this thing to flash to what Samsung sent to Rogers from the factory, or at least to a point that I can successfully flash to 2.3. Right now I'm stuck.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Okay, I'm back to UXJL1, using Odin 1.81, and I also found a OneClick that reportedly switches out the bootloaders for GB bootloaders. I tried it, and it did give me an ATT screen, followed by a normal boot and I was back to having apps like Titanium crashing on boot, which is beyond annoying to figure out.
My biggest issue is that I think I have a decent grasp of what's involved in this process, but I don't know which file is compliant with which. I seem to always use 512 for the partition, but I see some variations in that. I also don't know what to do about the bootloader situation except the one tool I mentioned above.
Basically I could either use what I have, go back to Firefly, or keep trying this GB upgrade. I'd rather keep trying but I also need a phone.
I have a ton of different firmware files at my disposal and can download whatever else I need if mentioned, I also have a few different versions of Odin, and OneClick. I downloaded Odin OneClick 2.xx for rooting purposes and it seemed to work with a flash I did today.
Again, thanks for any help.
As for bootloaders. If the 1 click doesn't work, or you don't know if your phone likes 1 clicks I've attached a pda.tar and a odin in a rar that contains just GB bootloaders. This isn't my work I downloaded from somewhere in xda, I just can't remember where so I can't link. All credit to whoever created it. I can't speak specifics for I896 but random FC's usually means a bad flash. Try downloading again or another odin rom. Sorry I can't be any more help.
So my mom is using my "old" Captivate. When she was on the beta version of Android 2.2, the data and cell connection kept turning off and she would have to restart the phone in order for it to work again.
I updated the phone by flashing Android 2.3.5 (I897 UC KK1). It was working totally fine and then it started to have the same issues as before.
I was wondering if anyone could be kind and help out.
If a new modem needs to be flashed, how do I do that?
As of now, there is NO root on my mom's phone since she doesn't care about that stuff.
All help is much appreciated!
PLEASE? Someone has to know......
You can try other modems. You need CWM to do that. Flash a kernel with CWM and then flash from the huge list of modems that can be found at Oxicottin's thread
I believe you could also extract the modem.bin from those zip files. You could then place that modem.bin in the PHONE slot within ODIN and just flash the modem itself without ever changing the kernel.
Please someone correct me if I am leading him wrong. This would require him to only flash with ODIN once and still keep his stock kernel.
You are right that can be done as well.

It's been so long since I did it that way I was trying to remember if I was correct. I've been spoiled by all the DEVS making CWM packages.
Hey guys i really need some help. I tried to install clockworkmod on my T-mobile samsung galaxy s (sgh-t959v) and i guess i bricked it. All that comes out on the screen is a phone and a computer. can someone pls tell me what to do to fix this and install the right way.
Thank you in advance
Fairly new to all this myself and don't have experience with T-Mobile but if you go here you should be able to get a Firmware for your phone: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=SGH-T959V&r=5#regiona
You should be able to download a stock firmware, odin & everything else you need to flash your stock firmware. From this site.
Perhaps wait and see other responses though as there maybe a way to fix without flashing a stock firmware. Also getting some info from someone with your phone on T-Mobile may be better.

Just confirming that what scubadude said above. Flash new firmware, it is a soft-brick and therefore recoverable. Something that needs to be added however is that you will need to make a login in-order to access the direct link. If the link still doesn't work after that then click firmware and follow on from there..
