My issue:
It seems that USB tethering works fine until I run fix_permissions from clockworkmod Rom Manager, or adb. Has anyone else seen things break after running FIX PERMISSIONS? I noticed it changed many files from '' to '-rw-r--r--'. Thought it was strange that it didn't say '---------' but rather just ''. I had to reinstall the ROM back ontop of itself in order to get the google version of USB Tethering to work, native USB tether still is broken.....

Hi,
I have unrooted my Nexus one. And I have reinstalled factory Nexus One FRG83 image from http :// developer.htc.com. In my 'About Phone' it reads
Android version 2.2.1 and Build number FRG83"
How can I get it updated for 2.2.2? Build number FRG83D?
I tried pressing 'System updates', it said Your system is currently up to date'
But I know the latest build is FRG83D.
Thank you.

You have GOT to be kidding?
Seriously?
I just want to get to the versions which has been rolled out (the latest Froyo one). Not the version which will be rolled out (Gingerbread).
The latest froyo is actually FRG83G, you'll need to flash both updates.

I'm selling my Note and need to do a factory reset.
I recently rooted so I could use Titanium b/u. I rooted using a recent method that required me to download 2 files to my external sd card and install via recovery. Net result I was rooted and had SU. No roms involved, only root. My big problem is I lost the HD on my laptop and no longer have the files and supporting notes I had made. I did unroot from the menu in SU so I now no longer have SU installed. I checked with a root checker and I am no longer rooted.
This is my current setup:
Android version
4.0.4
Baseband version
N7000XXLRK
Kernel version
3.0.15-N7000XXLRK-CL811902
[email protected]#3
SMP PREEMPT Mon Jul 16 20:50:37 KST 2012
Build number
IMM76D.XXLRK
The big question is:
Can I safely do a factory reset?
No. You need to install a safe kernel for that. Install philz from stock recovery and do a factory reset. Then you will get su again. Follow the unroot procedure
Is there a kernel that will get the Note back to stock? I would like the person that's getting the phone to be able to use Kies for future updates.
The bad thing is I can't remember the files I used, but it wasn't CWM. I had held off rooting because of so many issues until I read about this method that has only been available a couple of months. It rooted but remained stock. I remember it was supposed to take care of the emmc bug problem. Problem is I ran one of the bug checkers and it still says the issue exists.
Maybe I accidentally did the right thing. I have been frantically searching through back up's and found a file I downloaded on 11/5 (Philz-cwm6-XXLRK-XEU.2.7-signed.zip). I have been rooted less than a month so I'm thinking that was it. Is there a way to verify if that was the file I used? I remember It was simple and supposedly trouble free.
As your rom is xxlrk, that the file you need to use.

I'm basing this on the understanding that only the leaked ICS kernels has the brick bug when wiping.

Hello I tried to do to update my G900a
BASEBAND VERSION: G900AUCU3BOC4
build number: LRX21T.G900AUCU4BOF3
acording to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/general/5-1-1-phones-t3231280/page6
download the G900A-OF3toOI5-ota-2400258.cfg file, rename it update.zip, update from sd card
but unfortunately the phone is still on Android 5.0. Is someone was able to update to 5.1.1?
can someone give me a link to correct update version for my phone?
why in Settings/ About Device my BASEBAND VERSION and build number don't match?
http://1drv.ms/1PPZtYi
I'd like to get this update also. Every Time I try it fails at around 32%.
Any ideas to try? I have already cleared cache, factory reset and nothing works.
Why are you not following http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...w-to-update-to-g900aoi5-5-1-unrooted-t3235774 ?
Hi All,
I bought a used S4, I would like to do 1 of 2 things, and want to note that I've never messed with a phones OS, rooting, or anything previously on any device.
I just need 6.0 pre march-17 security patch, OR, some way to make 1 app a system app. I think these are my only 2 options. Correct me if i'm wrong. Please let me know which is easier, and if anyone has a link to a guide that is still up to date, I would highly appreciate it. (I have attached images of "about device to assist")
I am assuming I need to either:
1) Install to Android 6.0, w/ Security patch prior to March 2017 (dec 2016 is perfect!) I know this will suit my needs.
OR
2) Root the 5.0.1 w/ Magisk. (hide root access from an app as well.) (Goal here is to make 1 app a system app, thats it!)
My issue is, I see A LOT of out-dated posts to root. - I went to TWRP when reading guide to ensure i can find all files i'll need before beginning, and TWRP website Says: "Only the earliest S4 for AT&T has a bootloader that is vulnerable to loki. If you took any updates or bought your device later on, you cannot install TWRP. Chances are, if you don't already have TWRP installed, you cannot use TWRP. Our images are already patched with loki so just root and flash. You cannot flash TWRP with Odin on this model." So I don't even know if I can get this accomplished.

Alright, first piece out of the gate:
I've had this Droid Turbo for a while(4 years); custom rom'd it multiple times seeking the best interface for it, and set it down for half a year in favor of a Blackberry. Having picked the Turbo back up, I attempted to run a boot on it, but it continued to black-screen and freeze in the middle of start-up. After using multiple TWRP backups to try and locate a working version, I've set down on one of the custom roms posted in the Motorola Droid Turbo forums. I can't tell you exactly which cause frankly I don't know. I've isolated the issue to the radio firmware malfunctioning with any of the roms, including the stock rom. Proving this with attempting to turn on the Wifi or turning off Airplane mode in one of the roms I had it disabled/enabled in, I'd attempt to turn on the radio, resulting in an immediate system freeze, and quickly followed by a full reboot. So I'm wondering if there's are more methods to revert radio firmware since TWRP's not allowing me to install a radio zip file under the pretense that the Meta-data/ Folder normally found in rom Zips can not be found. I can post About specs, so perhaps there will be someone in the community who may have some suggestions.
