[Q] Question about model names - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, all. I just purchased an unactivated Verizon Galaxy Tab 7" this afternoon; and after lurking and reasearching on this site extensively to get my Sammy Fascinate on CM7, this was the first place I wanted to come to learn about my new tablet.
I'm a little confused, however by some of the model names I'm seeing - P1000, P101, etc. The only model number I find anywhere in the device or on the box is SCH-I800 (barcode sticker on box includes a BKV sufix). I have found something like 6 posts regarding the SCH-I800, but I'm wondering if there's another name this tablet goes by, or if the posts for SGTabs in general are applicable to my device. Any insight would certainly be appreciated.

Telstra i9305t needing straight answer

Gday I can't for the life of me find a straight answer and procedure needed to gain root access on this phone. I've come from ios devices and September this year made the switch due to boredom. Now every galaxy I've had before this was relatively easy to find a how to/guide that gave me a straight answer this device however, not so much.
Questions are:
Rooting- procedure used for i9305t that doesn't include the free imei removal and brick
Odin alternative- I have an apple PowerBook g4 which I know is old but it's been given every possible upgrade and is only used for downloading stuff and other computer things otherwise my ps3, tv or phone(s) to do everything else which is zero.
Im sorry if it's been asked but this phone was about to join the i9000, which is in 2 pieces, cause its being difficult. This is the second phone, first one being i9210t, that xda forums has managed to make harder because of a lack in variation singularity and the assumption that everyone talks in 1's and 0's for example this forum is called i9300 and i9305 both very different phones. I don't wanna read any attempts at a rebuttal to this statement about the problems ive faced here on seperate occasions, just an answer to my questions which might hopefully help out many more people. Cheers

[Q] Which Kindle to buy, and where to buy it?

Hi all, this is my first post on your forum.
So I finally decided I need a tablet. The reason is that I live in Norway, and Norwegian newspapers aren't available on my Kindle e-ink. And my phone is too small. So I want a tablet to read my newspapers, and when I found that Kindle tablets can be rooted and turned into an Android device, my search for an affordable tablet came to an end. I've rooted my phone before, so I have some limited experience with rooting and custom ROMs.
But searching these forums made my head hurt. Apparently there are certain models that can't be rooted, and the ones that can be rooted are no longer in production.
So which Kindle do I want? Battery life, and size (6" or 7") are my only criteria.
And where do I buy it?
I hope that these questions aren't answered 1000 times before, and that I just missed them in my searches.

New user....couple of questions

Ok,
So i just upgraded my phone from a Galaxy S5 to a Nexus 6p. With the GS5 i had a Samsung Gear S. Unfortunately, i couldn't get that watch to work with my new 6P, so i went and got the LG Urbane, used, for a pretty descent price. So far, the only thing i can't get to work is the built in "Find My Phone". When i tap on it, it just says "Couldn't ring your phone. To find your device, visit android.com/devicemanager. Unfortunately, i used this feature quite a bit on my GS5 / GearS combo (the built in version on the GearS). I've tried searching the forums, as well as google, but for the most part all i can seem to find when i search for "find my phone" seems to point to people having issues "pairing" the devices together. Has anyone come across this before?
Couple more quick questions (hopefully not breaking any rules)
1 - Looking to get a screen protector for the LG Urbane (i scratched up my Gear S pretty good and would like to keep this one in better shape). Any suggestions on a good one?
2- Replacement bands. I have the Stainless model of the watch and i'm wondering what it would look like with a metal link, gunmetal color band on it. Has any one seen one? Have a link?
3- Charging stand. I'd like to get (or make) a stand for the watch to sit on while it charges. I came across one (booq...maybe) but can't seem to find it now. Anyone know what i'm talking about? Links to others that are known to be a good product?
Thanks for your time!
I have the Urbane 2nd edition and the antenna is built into the top of the watch bands and you cant replace the band from what im hearing. second here is a few stands on ebay but amazon has it to. Oh and all these stands you have to use your own charger.

Possible to Root a Verizon Galaxy S8?

So I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere but the XDA search is yielding nothing fruitful.
I have a friend that is looking to root their device and turned to me. I have rooted all my devices, but I don't use Samsung. I know that the galaxy line is extremely popular and typically able to be rooted, but I also know that US carriers also like to issue their own version of the device and tend to lock bootloaders and root ability.
Can this actually be done.? What is the easiest method?
I would love to provide you with model, android version, and build number but I'm not dealing with the most tech savvy person so I'm going to have to take a look for myself. At the very least I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction or inform me if it cannot be done.
Thanks in advance.
I have an s8 SM-G950U and it took me 20 minutes to root it using https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/root-t4060701

Hello, new here with questions about three devices

Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well! I signed up with the forums because I have questions about three devices I have and was hoping to get some help on them. I know that there are separate forums for each devices, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to give an overview here as well.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (AT&T), an Insignia Flex 11", and just recently received an AT&T Radiant Core (if I am correct, an AT&T-branded ZTE Radiant smartphone)
I have the Galaxy Note 3 because I bought it some years back when AT&T was still supporting the 3G network. The Radiant Core was mailed to me by AT&T because the 3G network will be shut down soon, and the Insignia was purchased on a lark.
I'd like to root all three, but the more I research, the more unlikely this seems. I haven't really tried anything with the Samsung just yet, but the Insignia doesn't have much out there on it besides dead links. It appears there was an app called Bin4ry that could root the system, but all the links I've found are dead.
As for the Radiant, I would like that rooted soon since I have been doing nothing but charging it since I received it. My Samsung will be disconnected from the network in about a week, and the Radiant will be activated. As a result, I'd like the phone to be ready (or bricked) soon. I've read, however, that network-branded phones are generally not worth the trouble of rooting if it can be done at all. I haven't seen much in the way of boot.img or recovery.img files for this phone, either. Perhaps it's not worth it?
As for why I would like to root, well, the Samsung has been a good small-screen media consumption device, but there are just too many pre-installed apps taking up space that I can't get rid of, including discontinued Samsung apps that are never going to be used. The Insignia doesn't have much on it, but it has a nice big screen and it came with a keyboard, so I'd like to experiment with it a bit. The Radiant is brand new and has not been used, so if I'm going to root it, I'd like to do it before using it for anything.
So! That's my story. If anyone can offer advice, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!
