Statusbar disappears after standby/sleep (Overcome Jupiter) - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
I have a mysterious (at least for me) problem. Sometimes after my Tab (Overcome Jupiter) was in sleep/standby mode the StatusBar completely disappeared (is no longer visible), and I have to reboot the Tab to get it back.
Do you know this problem?
Is there any remedy for it?
Regards, Juergen

Are you using the stock launcher?

What version of Jupiter did you flash and how did you flash: Wipe, nowipe, stock safe then wipe? Are you using any battery saving apps? Are you OC/UV?

I had the cache partition problem (market out of memory), so I restocked with v5 + wipe.

This a good point, I use no battery saving app, but I OC (1200Mhz), with slightly UV (-25mV), but not at 100 Mhz (and 600 Mhz), with this setting my Tab is absolutely stable.
But the first time I saw the disappearing StatusBar was after I tried to UV the 100 Mhz setting (only by -25 mV).
My first thought was, that this could be related to the UV at 100 Mhz (because the Tab is running with 100 Mhz (or Deep Sleep) when in standby/sleep), so I reverted the UV at 100 Mhz back to stock.
I never have had a problem to wake up the Tab (hang/crash) and besides the disappeared StatusBar it is working fine without the StatusBar displayed.
Is it really possible that only the StatusBar task/process could freeze due to OC/UV?
Regards, Juergen

So will this be ok to flash over voodoo? Is it the same style of ext4 support we're used to lately? I saw someone mentioned the recovery is different and such. Want to ask questions before I flash this.

Using the Phone was never the Problem.. It was while you wasn't using it
The Power Management was screwed up and a few other things.
Regarding Disabling Voodoo Kernel, not Sure EXT4 is Supported but I've not Flashed it over a Voodoo Kernel though.. Worst case you would need to odin, I would wait for somebody to post result of a direct flash over before doing so.. Unless you don't mind ODIN just for testing purpose.

I just flashed it, but I forgot if I had voodoo enabled or not, when I went to the lagfix menu, it said everything was in ext4, so I *think* I had voodoo enabled and it flashed fine. Just disable for safety precautions.
Also, this has the same CWM as the i9000 with the different lagfix options. It superceded the red voodoo recovery with that recovery.

This does not happen to me. I have SetCPU installed and am running @ 800 MHz. Whenever I reboot, it continues to use this setting
This is strange. I still have this problem. I got my phone on last monday itself and within the first hour i flashed MIUI. Then i saw that cpu was oced to 1.5 GHz, installed setCPU couldn't change the frequency even after granting root, then tried with CPUmaster that did the trick. Again some random reboot after a day and back with 1.5 GHz then CPUmaster also didn't work so installed no-frillCPU that allowed me to change the frequency. So far within three days i had three random reboots and no-frillCPU seems to work fine.
I rebooted the phone manually to check whether the issue is with random crash/reboot and found that the isssue persists. Seems to be built into the kernel itself as i have not done set on boot. Shall try with set on boot ? will this be safe ?

I'm using SetCPU in MIUI 1.11.11 with native kernel, SetCPU is working well. I Set to use 1209 MHz max and 122 MHz min for daily use (ofcourse setted onboot), and set several profile also.
No random reboot.
For changing frequency in SetCPU, just SLIDE ABOVE THE SLIDER, NOT ON THE SLIDER. Works for me.
I was in RC2, and flashed with 318E A02 just before MIUI 1.10.21 then MIUI 1.11.11 from the day released.
I did wipe from one ROM to others, except from MIUI 1.10.21 to 1.11.11....

Oh so that's the issue that I have to slide above the slider in setcpu. Anyways thanks both of u for the reply. Well m not trying that out happy with nofrills CPU. No more crash reboots. I am just loving MIUI and don't even had crossing thought of going to stock rom even though the incoming call volume issue persists. Any suggestions towards that end?

UC5.1 kernels worked well with all the ROMS (RC2, MIUI) but faced some problems with WiFi in edowar's latest ROM. But edowar's stock kernel can do 1.4 GHz so no point pushing it to 1.5 GHZ.
Just my 2 cents.

Overclock

Hi ,
I have a few begineers questions , I have a galaxy s that is running gingerbread 2.3.6 , is rooted and had a voodoo kernel (with recovery option) . I was thinking of possibilities of overclocking , can that be done with the setup I have ?
thanks in advance
You can easily overclock your phone with a root access with an application like this :
bit.ly/fnUFCD
There are lots of applications existing.
You can see on your kernel thread on this board what frequency is supported.
try Tegrak overclock or NSTools. Find other apps on Market.

Battery use will obviously be higher with the processor on more clock speed but there's no problem with the temperature. Remember, always overclock in minor steps, check stability and in this way you would get a stable phone

[Q] what is the fastest ?

am just asking for the fastest & stable ... dont give me an answer that tells you have to try & what am i looking for bla bla bla
what is the fastest stable rom ?
Kernel ?
I/O Scheduler ?
Governor ?
Voltage ?
any other setting or apps that will help ?

You know, that question is a bit like asking "what is the healthiest dinner?" and expect to get to same answer from everyone.
Different roms are more stable for certain usage. That said, AOKP roms are most stable for me, I've had no issues at all on infinitum.
Non ics roms would be Darky 9.5, rock solid with working call recording. This is pretty widely recognized as a very stable rom.

i set it to smartass but still no sio ... not a big deal ok ...
but all these is from smerphone app ... when you go to nstools there is much less option & the highest cpu is 1000mhz
mean while in smerphone you can get it up to 1300 mhz but as soon you leave the apps it goes back to 1000 ... but every other setting stay as i choose ... & when you try to make the profile default as your profile the phone completely shut down
so i did as most of people think which is the fastest ... but still 2 things i cant do
sio
highest cpu ( 1300 ) am stuck with (1000 )
