Saw on Google that it has been replaced by HD7S. But then I noticed that the 'S' is meant for the States. I still want to buy a 16GB HD7 with all the necessary networks.
Hopfeully the Schubert T9292 screen will also be upgraded to a Super LCD like the touch pro 7. Any comments will be helfull.
Otherwise I should wait for the Samsung Galaxy S2 running Windows 7 Mango
The S stands for super, not states. It's the Super LCD version of the hd7 which is available only on AT&T at the moment.
Sorry I phrased it incorrectly. Do you perhaps know if all the HD7's will be launched worldwide with a Super LCD screen?

And the g2 probably have better specs then hd7 but if u root both phone then to me their both same.
If i want android i can hack hd7 for that.

So how do my fellow HD7 owners feel about this:

No difference but the S-LCD screen which is quite a big upgrade in the screen department. Other than better viewing angles, what are the advantages of it?

Hmmm... I wonder if we will be able to purchase the S-LCD screen to replace the normal LCD if we want to?
Does anyone think this would work?
Glad to see this coming to AT&T but I always love to have more choice. I wonder if this phone will be HSPA+ 14.4 enabled? That would give it a nice speed bump over the current crop of phones offered. I currently use a Samsung Focus and really love it. I might pass this to the wife and snatch up an HD7S if the price is decent.
i too have the focus and glad att is picking up the hd7 with the slcd. tempted to pick one up when released
I am angry...
I don't know what i should do. Sell my HD7 on Ebay and then wait for the S version?
I don't think the S version is going to T-Mobile. It'll probably use AT&T 3G bands which doesn't include 1700. Same reason I can't get a Dell Venue Pro. I don't want to be stuck with EDGE. Hopefully, we'll see some more phones/info from the CTIA this weekend.
was thinking about getting the Bell version or whatever one worked with at&t but now I can just wait. Wonder what the off contract price will be.

I have a question. Does HD7 Hardware support 4G or HSPA+ from T-Mobile? Or it is just a problem that Windows Phone 7 doesn't support it yet?
BTW, i have read several articles at Bing and found out, HD7 + S-LCD Screen = HD7S, that all. and the S-LCD gives us a better angle of viewing. The S-LCD is still far away from the Super AMOLED Screen. If HTC put the Super AMOLED in HD7, i will sell my current HD7 right away.
I will not take a S-LCD for a better viewing angle and have a more-expensive plan from AT&T.
Sorry for my bad English

It's probably never gonna happen. First of all currently AMOLED or Super AMOLED is in constant short supply. Even Samsung itself has to limit certain phones sold to certain countires use S-LCD instead of SAMOLED.
Second of all, current Super AMOLED is 4" and the future Super AMOLED 2 is 4.5". There is no 4.3" variant. So it won't fit current HD7 size unless HTC redesigns the whole thing.
This device also comes with the NoDo update which HD7 on T-Mobile are still waiting to receive..

I played around with it today at CTIA and its more than just the viewing angles. The colors are very vibrant compared to the HD7. Its brighter as well. I will pick up an Samsung S II and the HD7S for AT&T networks.
Please excuse my ignorance with WP7 lately. I returned the HD7 when they first came out due to bad reception in my area. But I was wondering how GV voice now ? Is there anything that works like Google Voice? Its a very important thing i have Google voice on my phones.
Thanks

the att version will replace the t-mobile version once the merger is done, because none of our hd7's will have 3g by then.

Never heared about this before. Can they just make 4.3 one ?
That would be perfect.
@mr8820: Not really sure, almost all websites comfirm the HD7S has the same hardware as the HD7, except the S-LCD Screen. the HD7 of T-Mobile even doesn't support their HSPA+ , only HSPA, no 4G love.
I will keep this baby for at least 1 Year, until i find something more interesting. I am not a really big fan of Android so i have no plan of buying Desire HD or EVO 4G, Thunderbolt right now.
Here's a video of it.
Honestly doesn't look that much better, still some colour distortion at extreme angles.

Currently I have a Samsung GSII but I want to get back to WP7, I was going to wait for the WP7 version of the GSII but I did like my HD7.
I was thinking about trying to pick up an HD7S on ebay and use it in the UK (Vodafone UK) however I was wondering if you guys could run me through a few pit falls.
Will it actually work on the Vodafone network?
Can I unlock the phone if needs be?
Is it possible for me just to put a total generic ROM on the phone so there is no AT&T branding, will I run into problems?
I know these may sounds like daft questions but I have never purchased a phone from the states and I'm not sure about the network bands, etc.
Many thanks for the help guys, hope to be back in the fold soon
Since you are coming from the Samsung GSII you might want to wait and pick up the Samsung Focus S that coming soon. The Focus S is a follow-up to the original Samsung Focus, featuring a large 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus panel , 1.4GHz processor and is just one-third of an inch thick. You get a 1.3MP front-facing camera and 8MP rear-facing.
Basicly a SGSII with WP7.5.
I myself was hoping to get this or the HTC Titan (It has a 4.7 inch S-LCD screen making it the largest available on any Windows Phone. The HTC Titan also has a 1.5GHz processor with 512MB RAM, 16GB internal memory, and 8MP rear and 1.3MP FFC.) but they are both going to AT&T and I'm on T-Mobile.
I was thinking about waiting for that but I'm not sure if it will be released in the UK (I'm sure it will) plus I'm not sure about pricing, I know I could sell my SGII now, get an HD7 (S or non S model) and have a bit of cash in my pocket).
I might just sell the SGII now and use an old... HTC Desire (or SE K850) for the next few months...
Dont get the S... you will be stuck on EDGE as AT&T use a different frequency (1900mhz?) to UK carriers for 3G/HSPA (2100mhz).
EDGE is painful.
Well I sold my SG2 and have been using an old htc desire and I'm liking the smaller screen so i have gone for an omnia 7 (16gb), I like the screen size being between the desire and hd7. With the cash left over I may put it towards a Sony tablet s
I would suggest you wait for the new phones coming out instead of going for the already released WP7 devices, reason being atleast they will be a bit future proof.
I had an HD7 and then went for a SGS2, but because HD7 has no front facing camera I will miss out on the kinet features on mango, so I am waiting for either Nokia WP7 ( as I still feel nokia has the best hardware) or get one of the New HTC devices with WP7.
I have already the RTM MANGO and boy it rocks, currently can't make up my mind between the HD7 and SGS2

T-Mobile has gotten rid of its last large-screened Windows Phone 7 handset, effectively leaving prospective Windows Phone 7 buyers with currently only the choice of the HTC Radar or in the near future the Nokia Lumia 710.
Rightly or wrongly, buyers associate large screens with high end devices, effectively meaning if you want a high-end handset the only choice is to go to AT&T, where the 4.3 inch Samsung Focus S or 4.7 inch HTC Titan can be purchased for considerably more of course.
The same issue exists on Verizon with the HTC Trophy and Sprint with the HTC Arrive.
While we recognize Microsoft’s decision to attack the low-end high volume value segment of the market with Windows Phone 7, not having high-end hero devices available on the same network will do real damage to the brand.

I saw this. I'm hoping it means something bigger or similar is on its way in the near future. Smaller than 4" just doesn't do it for me. I'm hoping Titan or Nokia 900. Either would make this ending acceptable.
Fortunately, I have the HD7 and I'm still loving it. I would consider the Titan for its front-facing camera and higher quality sound for my mp3's. I always wondered who decides what model goes where. It seems AT&T is getting most of the phones. If Windows Phone is expected to take off, the people need to see options. Microsoft, please give us options!
I'd also like to see more options also. I just recently bought an HD7 on ebay because I was curious to see how windows evolved since the days of the Wing which had windows mobile 6 professional (which was pretty terrible in my opinion). I've had my Sensation since it came out in June and was getting bored so I wanted to try a windows phone again and boy is it different. Overall, I think I like it though. Maybe I'll buy another someday. But not if the only phone t-mobile is offering with WP7 is the radar. I'm not a fan of white phones at all.
patience lad....don't do anything stupid !
2012 is the year of Windows Phone's

Sorry for my bad english, I'm French.
Sorry for this but...
Again and again...
Have you red all the post related to an android rom on the HD7? did you used the search feature?
Iif you don't like Windows Phone, just sell the HD7 and buy any android phone that fits your taste, they aren't expensive if you know hoe to look for... because the only Android roms for the HD7 are Chinese and the aren't sharing how to do it, they charge for the process.
Do yourself a favor... sell the HD7 and get any android phone you like.

There are no android roms for HD7. It is still work in progress and nowhere near to running an android .
There are only android roms for HD2 which is a winmobile 6x device , the predecessor of HD7. i tcan also run wp7 roms. i fu want to run 3 types of OS then get the HTC Hd2
i beleive u are referring to this video here .
This is not Hd7 and it i snot even a HTC phone, it is cheap chinese knockoff
if u came across of any youtube videos of supposed HD7 running android is fake. It is not HD7 but a chinese clone of HD7 running android software.
Much like those clones of iphone and galaxy s3s u find everywhere in asian markets.
I live in an asian country and there are clone iphones, ipads and Galasxy S3s being sold here
