I found a galaxy s but its asking for a Gmail account so that I can unlock it
Is there a way to completely restore it without having to know the Gmail account?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
You "found" a galaxy S?
No matter how I read this, it still sounds like you f**king stole it. And no excuses for bad English either, you identified yourself as American on your account.
Yeah I found it on the bus.
I tried unlocking it because it had a password on it.
And after a certain amount of tries it completely locked up and its asking for the Gmail account that's being used on it.
And sorry for the bad English
I wasn't aware I was in English class -_-
I'm just asking for some help.
No need too start making accusations about stealing it.

If you found it then when you hand it to the police they will be able to recover the owner through IMEI etc and thereby find the correct log in .
Presuming they are willing to let you keep the phone .

Turn it into the bus company as lost and found...and this is a good lesson to users to set lock screens in case someone "finds" their phone just like this guy did and decide to run up your phone bill.

I did find it.
And if they have any sense they probably disconnected it already.

Awesome, we should get root soon!
Here's the kicker, sources ain't worth a Damn unless the bootloader is unlocked, and otherwise you'll just be able to do emulation only... I'm trying the htc bootloader unlocker one last time

Hopefully this sparks something. This forum is looking like a ghost town . I suppose there isn't much to talk about without root, but I wonder how many people that would've contributed to the Vivid have already moved on.

The only things I plan to use permaroot for is permanently killing the bloatware (including CIQ), AdFree, Nandroid backup, using an international Raider stock ROM and SetCPU underclocking for battery life.
Hmm, come to think about it, that's actually a reasonably long list.
Blah, HTCdev, Y U NO WORK? Maybe the removal of the message could be heralding that something is coming...

In AT&T's letter to Al Franken they mentioned CIQ was disabled on the Vivid and skyrocket because of performance issues when activated, even though it's dormant, and I still want it out. Having the source allows us to tinker with the rom ahead of time so we can build roms before bootloader unlock takes place
You figure most roms are tested via emulation before they are made flashable, these forums will be picking up real shortly, Therefore a bootloader unlock is not far away especially since they released source on the vivid.
I am currently "experimenting" with source. I hope to release a rom after the bootloader unlock and a stable method of permanent root has surfaced on AT&T Vivid Hardware.

AT&T has no say so in GPL....releasing source code does NOT guarantee anything. they HAVE to release source code as mandated in GPL.

The way it seems to be portrayed on that other dev site, GSLeon is making some pretty good progress; his last post was a few days ago saying that results are coming "in a few days".
Let's hope he's not trolling.
a lady stole my friend sgs luckily she doesn't know how to use the phone at all, its been 3 weeks and i'm still trying to find where she lives
the phone still has the gmail account linked i installed plan b and androidlost but they both needs me to send a text message to activate them and i dont have her number
plan b doesnt seams to works as everyone knows that the sgs with stock rom has a very bad gps lock
my best lock will be with androidlost as it has many features
we already notified the police but with no info at all on her we wont be able to do anything
i would hope if there is any app that would send her phone number to he linked gmail account , or any other kind of apps that may help
The only apps that I know of that will do that are Avast! and Cerberus, but both have to be installed beforehand.
Don't know how to do what you want but i hope you removed any card details from your account so they cant buy things on the app store with your details.
Your gmail account should have the ip addresses it was accessed from this may be of use to the police. This can be found at the bottom right of your inbox.

What carrier is the phone with?
Sprint has a family locator plan that can be initiated remotely. I believe they offer a free 2 week trial.
You can try pulling the call history online with the carrier to get the numbers called
and even request that the phone be traced.
Samsung Galaxy SIII (SPH-L710)
Try to contact google, if you have a police report with the IMEI you might pull of a IP log of the people who accessed the acccount, from the you could go to the carrier company with your police report or the cops could do it and they'll be able to pull of her records by the IP.
I can't figure out why the US doesn't enfore locking the phones by IMEI, I remember my brand new iPhone was stolen last year and the cops couldn't do a thing. so I suggest you or your friend do this step by step and hope for the best.
sadly i dont live in the US so all these things are impossible , police wont do **** here , i'm still waiting for plan b to lock on gps but still no email , i'm keeping the gmail account still on the phone because it has no valuble info except for the contacts which are already backed up , and the person who stole the pone is so dump and cant even know how to install or uninstall apps

if only some one made an app that will look for a contact name and send an sms to it and the user can save that predefined contact to google contacts which will sync to the phone
so if the app is looking for Joe123 all you have to do is create a new contact in google contact with Joe123 and input you second phone number
then wait for it to sync with the stolen phone then install that app which will send you an sms with the theif number and possibly GPS if available
and once you get that number you can install androidlost and start controlling the phone
thats just an idea and i hope some one will make it true one day
I think the one WiredPirate linked to should work..
You can still install apps via the online play store can't you? Then why can't you install avast?

Hi Guys,
I unlocked my bootloader, put on a custom recovery and installed Viper's ROM. My phone has a bad microphone and I need to bring it back to Sprint. I downloaded the Sprint HTC One factory RU and I can relock the bootloader, but how to I get rid of the tampered message?
Thanks in advance. I'm not new to the forums, but I sure feel like an idiot asking a question I know I'm going to face palm myself as soon as I hear the answer lol.
Tampered will not/cannot be removed, yet.

This is in the wrong section. As its a question it goes in the QUESTIONS section of the forum. Unfortunately you cannot remove the tampered. Your best bet is to just hope they don't boot into boot loader. Next time try not to root until you have checked enough to know you're fully satisfied with the device

It's not that I don't like the phone...the mic is bad on it. Works great on speaker phone and bluetooth, but regular handset mode, it just crackles a bunch.

But it should still say tampered I believe.. Just bring it back and hope they don't look at the boot loader..
Pro tip: if you go in early enough the Techs who they usually send it back to check aren't in yet unless it's a Sprint store that is on point.
If it is a good store then you just screwed yourself if the tech is the guy who opens the doors and you're the only one there when they open. Luckily for me I'm surrounded by horrible Corporate Sprint stores.

You have to re lock yourself before running the ruu.
fastboot oem lock
After the ruu, tampered will be removed but bootloader will display Relocked, instead of Locked

There is no possible way to break the microphone via unlocking the bootloader.
Demand they accept the return and give you another phone. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The manufacturer or reseller has to be able to reasonably show that what YOU did caused YOUR phone to stop functioning correctly. Then and only then can they get out of the warranty.
All that said, this is obviously a legal issue, and you would need to go to court over it if they flat out refuse. Ideally, quoting the law and the relevant sections of it should be enough to get somewhere with Sprint.

I sure hope someone is working on those things. I am waiting to unlock my bootloader, get twrp, and root until this all happens. I don't really have a desire to deal all the extra steps if I root before this happens. Plus, I'd like to see s-off as well. Just my preference. Didn't have to go through htc when I had my evo rooted and s-off, hope I can do the same here.

The Mic being bad on your phone has NOTHING to do with rooting or any kind of software modifying so it shouldn't matter of your rooted or not. Take it in and if they cry that it's rooted you should take them to school and teach them the difference between hardware issues and software issues. Cuz your mic being bad is a hardware issue.FYI

You don't need to worry about if there are people working on our devices cuz there's a LOT more that goes on behind the scenes that you don't hear about. There's people working on getting us s-off I know.

As a technician if I noticed you were rooted I would probably test audio output and then test calls with my bluetooth headset. If all of that worked and it was only the physical mic I would exchange it no questions asked...
After messing around with my bootloader last night I did find our particular model id. PN0720000. Also I read about an interesting exploit that may give us s-off. The facepalm exploit has been successfully used to s-off the droid dna and other htc devices. good things could be coming our way

Long story short...
I have an Att HTC ONE M7 (black) that was jtaged and won't let me unlock or use any SIM card. (Security check to modem , need a patch to bypass the check) So tired of trying to find a fix.
I also have a Sprint HTC ONE M7** variant. Completely worthless Sprint pile of sh_t! and tried to unlock to gsm about to go outside and run over it with my lawnmower!
So can I use the daughter board(AT&T) and motherboard(Sprint)
They are both snapdragon 600 1.7 ghz
Exact same thing. I'm gonna research it but if it's possible I'm going for it..
Unless my problem is in the daughterboard(AT&T) thats causing my problem. Thoughts?

Fairly certain the radio chips are soldered onto the board. Considering the two carriers use completely different radios, I'd still bet no.
