I am pretty sure I have a dead pixel on my Incredible S...arrgh! I am so mad..my phone is rooted so I cant take it in for warranty. It is a really small black dot in the middle of my screen, when the screen is black it shows up as white, and when the screen is another color it shows up at black! I am confused as to whether its dead or stuck! Either way what would you guys do???
I geuss its expensive to get a whole new screen right? I am wondering if it bothers me that much to even get this done FFS!

I'd unroot it and return to stock, and then send it in for warranty.
You might try and run the dead-pixel app which can try to fix it by running the display continuously - it does help sometimes. Also, I don't think a single dead pixel may be covered under warranty.
Unroot the device then send it off for warranty

So here's the deal, a few days back water was spilled on top of my phone with no apparent damage. initially it turned on, but started to slowly act up.
what warrenty do you have? lol, if you pay that extra 5 bucks you can bring it in and replace it for free for any self damage. dont worry so much.

the water damage indicator is fine. but here's the problem...
my little brother lives for this website and found a way to customize my phone so that some images pop up when i turn the phone on. that's great and all, but now that i'm returning the phone for a new one, i need to get all of that off of there so they know that the phone wasn't messed with as far as the warranty goes. the issue we're having is getting past the point of the images in order to reset the phone. when i put his g1 battery into my g1 it works only up to the point of the second image.
can someone, anyone please help me with this?
do i install something and just crash the phone?
do i take out to my driveway and run it over so it doesn't turn on?
basically, i need help getting this custom feature off my phone so that i'm able to have a phone sent back to me.
thank you.

is the water damage sticker red or white?
red means water damage.
whatever the color is, when you call tmo, tell them it's white.
the charge you'll get in the end will be cheaper than initially saying it's red.
on some phones, there are more water damage indicators on the inside of the phone as well as behind the battery.
find the .nbh file in the rooting thread and flash that to your phone, if you are in us it's the RC29 file and in UK it's the RC7 i think

Do what the guy said above by putting dreaming.nbh on your phone, it actually sounds like your phone is stuck in a boot loop and might have nothing to do with water. If downgrading to RC29 does not work, you will have to reflash the stock boot.img and you can find that information under themes and wallpapers>custom boot images.
two ways you can do that through adb, or through terminal emulator. terminal emulator might be easier for you, should all be in the link posted below.
I actually think it would be funny to send a custom boot screen back to tmo or htc but thats besides the point.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467693
you can also do what i did and told tmobile that the wifi doesn't work and its covered under htc warranty.
good luck.
my G1 phone just won't start... when I'm trying to charge it I see the green led - so the battery is fine. but it won't load up (black screen) before I had that problem - I could see the screen but with no back-light...
anyone?
Have you tried booting into recovery? (Home+Power) Are you rooted, spl, etc? Bit more info would help..
thanks...
it's probably due to water damage...

Be careful right now for scams and hustles.
Just hoping you didnt pay too much for that brick.
Keep looking onto it until there's no other option but to give up.

UPDATE : I've just came back from the lab and they told me that the battery is fine and the litle white sticker inside (not the one on the battery) is still white so it's not water damage -
anyone have another idea what can it be?
[the phone is dead - not functioning at all - only when i'm charging there is the green led - beside that no response at all! not even for restart/safe mode/recovery ]
Best guess. Brick.
I pray that I am wrong though
hi my friends!
i found a mainboard replacement for my GT-N7000...
my phone is white, the replacement phone is black.
i can use everything from the black one, both are 16Gb edition, both GT-N7000 model...
my question is: is there any chance that the mainboard from the replacement phone not to work into my own?
help me!
If your pretty much sure 100% that the replacement phone (which is black) is for the international unlock N7000 one.. then I'm pretty much sure also that the motherboard of that will and is 100% compatible with your white Gnote.
Aesthetically. the only diff between your white one and the replacement one is the colors of their casing... but other than that... I'm sure internally all are one and the same
the replacemetnt phone which is black has the screen broken, but if you call it it rings, but no can answer or anything, as the screen is broken.
is a GT-N7000 unlocked phone... my fear is that chance of incompatibility of that mainboard on my phone (which all is good except the mainboard...)
if the only problem on the black replacement one is the broken screen itself... then I'd say the motherboard of that is really compatible with your white Note.
By the way, where are you buying the replacement? if it's on Ebay, just a word of caution... don't rely too much on what the seller has to say... who knows.. some says that it's only the screen itself that is broken... but when you finally receive that unit... there might be something more to it that is broken.. you'll never know...
just a piece of advice....
no, not ebay...
just a guy has it and i found it on one of locally forums.
i see it and tested personally the black Note (replacement) and beside the broken screen, i was able to call the phone and it rings, vibrates, but i can't do nothing because of the broken screen.

then u should change the screen. otherwise with "cannot do anything" on your notes is equal to not owning notes.
no, you did not read the whole topic....

then, if you trust your instincts then go for it.. Again let me reassure you... there's no difference between the white and the black N7000s... only the color of their casings.. other than that.. internally, they're all the same.
thank you, i really hope you are right...
maybe i will have my Note back...

Can u find new replacement part ? Im from Malaysia and my note just dead. I think it has related to SOD..
Hey guys Barely picked up my edge today, and I already noticed a dead pixel (green colored) on the bottom of screen.
Is there a way to fix this or should I return it, and If I return it what's the procedure as I had never had to return a phone before.
download an app like display tester and run throw the screens and colors and see if it is really dead and if so get a new one

That works to you?
Hey guys, so out of nowhere my Note 5 had a patch of ink on the screen that grew overnight, and now the entire screen is black, but the phone works normally it seems. My warranty is still good, so I need to send it to Samsung, but I worry that they notice I rooted it. Wat do?
Can I unroot blindfolded?

I'm pretty sure there are 2 kinds of warranty, software and hardware, just tell them you need a new screen and that's it, i might be wrong so search for the software and hardware warranty thing
This is why you shouldn't buy Samsung phones. I was overseas when this happened to me, and because I didn't buy it there - they said no..
Just replace the screen yourself. Samsung support is among the worst for warranties.
