Galaxy Tab not booting, stuck at "GalaxyTab Samsung" boot screen

Hello,
I have flashed my Galaxy Tab with roto JMI, but it's stuck at the "GalaxyTab / Samsung" boot screen.
I can get into download mode with volume down and power, I can reflash it but in the end it does not boot.
What can i do?

I am still having this problem. I am wondering if there is any way how to debug whats happening at the Samsung logo screen. With adb the devices is not detected (it seems not to be detected at the usb controller).

What did you use to flash?
What files did you use?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem.
After upgrade du JMI roto with odin 1.7 (all upload seems to be ok, repartition with p1 and pda file Roto-JMI-Full-v2 no error message) but the device hangs on samsung galaxy tab logo and don't boot.
In my case previous version was pda jj3/phone jid / scs jj2

Bought the device
Got a lot of restarts
Flashed with P1000OXAJM6
Device worked again for some days
Device not booting anymore
Tried reset with different methods (Touch screen, press power; Touch menu button and power button): Sometimes worked, sometimes not
Recently not booting anymore, no trick worked
Flashed Roto Roto-JMI-Full-v2.tar with P1_add_hidden.pit
Device still not starting
Flashed original firmware: GT-P1000_P1000XXJK5_P1000OXAJK5_P1000XXJK5_P1000XXJK5_XX_DBT.zip
Device not starting
Flashed ROTO with Heimdall again (before used Odin only): Device not booting

Same Problem
Im on the SPH-P100, I have the same issue I can access it in Adb the log shows it in stalling all of my old .apks but it never boots past the logo.I have re flashed also but no luck plz help if u can i can post the logcat here but it goes for hrs -_- I assume it loops the process.

So, this one contains a bootloader (Sbl.bin). maybe thats the cause of the problem. Still, I wonder why it started in the first place and then after some reboots it gets stuck. I tried different Kernels with no luck. Maybe I should try to flash a new bootloader? However, that could brick the device forever.

*bump* Can anybody help?

I have a very similar problem.
I flashed the [ROM] Roto JMI Pre-Rooted Firmware v2 [Feb 4, 2011], and got stuck on the Samsung Boot screen.
Now, I can't even get the Downloading mode to work. It opens fine, but Odin/Heimdall doessn't detect the Tab at all.
Hopefully, someone knows what's going on. If not, I'm taking it back to my carrier, and asking them to fix it (assuming they'll fix it).

Maybe this will help for the bootloader.
Its a bootloader patch. Please read thru the thread. Hope it helps.

Dont get what you mean by that. You cant get it to download mode but your tab start up fine?
Download mode = press vol down + power pn button.
As for odin/heimdall doesnt detect the tab it could be usb port (some reports in android development thread) or could be usb drivers.
As i need to switch usb drivers when i need to flash my tab & my dell streak.
Hope it helps to start you off.

I meant that I can get into Download mode, with the Downloading logo, but doesn't get detected by Odin. And it stays stuck on the Samsung boot logo if turned on normally. Can't get into recovery either.
Before I flashed the Roto ROM, Odin was working perfectly fine. I've been flashing other kernels and ROMs before. But now, the USB doesn't even seem to get detected. It's like nothing is plugged in. Can't even choose to install/uninstall old/new drivers.
I dont think it's the USB port, as I've tried to connect to Odin on 3 different computers, trying every available port on each. It's looking like the USB connector is just dead or something.

My tabs mainboard was broken, it was replaced and now it works again.

Same problem here man. I CAN get in to download mode. Odin recognize it normally. I CAN download normally. Look likes everything is normal, but after update it restarts, but hangs on Galaxy Tab Samsung logo. I've tryed everything with different firmware, custom-roms, hacking things, but with no success.

Same problem here. My tab is stuck at samsung galaxy logo and until now, no one could provide an answer.
I flashed some ROM from samfirmware that must of locked the bootloader (JMF). Then I tried to flash JM6, JMA, JMC, JMK, JJ4, JJ7, JM5, JJ1, JID and almost all ROTO's. with and without pit files using ODIN 1.7. I also tried a stock ROGERS ROM (that i downloaded from this forum) using Heimdall. The tab always boots to samsung galaxy tab logo. I've done alot of reading in this forum and followed many flashing instructions but when applied, it doesn't work for me.
My main concern: is there still hope with the tab ? or it's gone forever.
Is there any specific order that i must follow when flashing ? ( ie, flash one specific ROM before another). The tab was canadian that was flashed to euro.

Same Here, I tried many combinations with the help of experts on this board. Conclusion: shipped to Sammy for warranty repair.

I am a noob, and I am confused with the bootloaders being locked or unlocked. I just wanted to get your advice to see whether my Tab could be updated. I can't update through KIES as it states 'This version of the device cannot be updated'

to update Gingerbread is not matter if you got the bootloader or no ..
go for it . carefully understand every step and flash it

before you go for it .. can you tell me where are you from ?

after its finish download .. put it in PDA section in Odin 1.7 without pressing anything because there is already inside Pit to wipe everything in ur tab .. you know how to go through download mode right .. off tab , down volume and power button together for a 3seconds your tab will put in download mode you will see it in odin that your tab is recognized make sure you have the drivers installed in your pc .
Note : extract the rom from the RAR . i mean extract the tha TAR inside the zip you download it .. the password is samfirmware.com
hit the start button your tab will reboot again in download mode .. you force it to reboot then it will go directly into recovery mode , ignore the RED lines . after its done , back again into recovery mode by : off tab , volume up with power on until its boot move ur hands of the buttons . and after its go through recovery mode pls wipe cash and wipe factory reset , then reboot and enjoy your tab with gingerbread

sure m8, what current state is your Tab in now. Can you tell me your firmware by going on your phone icon and typing in *#1234#

model number: GT-P1000
FIRMWARE: 2.2
VERSION: P1000XXJMA
KERNEL: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1

and also it turn off and on by itself.

Sprint Galaxy Tab Gingerbread ROM?
I am new to the concept of Flashing ROM's on my Android Devices.
I would like to take my Tablet from Froyo, 2.2.1 to Gingerbread or even HC if possible. I know that Spacemoose1 is working on the HC CDMA release, but it's not fully there yet. Good luck to her on that adventure!
Is there a way to upgrade to Gingerbread easily? Is there a 100% working GB ROM that allows for 3G, GPS, Audio, Accelerameter, etc. to work?
I'm looking for a release that will allow for all the pieces of my Tablet to work, only with a more recent ROM/OS.

Okay, Ive just updated mine to gingerbread and all is fine. You will be able to too do it but one thing im worried about with your device, is it turning off during the flash and potentially bricking it. This depends on whether its a hardware fault, but we could see if its fixed by doing a factory reset - Turn the tab off, then once its off hold 'power and volume up' till it goes in to recovery mode. then use the volume button to go down to 'wipe data/factory reset' and then click yes, then go to 'reboot system'. Test your Tab out and see if it happens again, if it does then it looks like a hardware fault which needs sending back to Samsung for repair.

[Q] Help ! My tab p1000 hangs on samsung logo

For about a week now my samsung galaxy tab p1000 keeps freezing on the samsung logo screen and every minute ore so vibrates very short.
No matter how long i wait it keeps like that . Ive tryed the reset from the recovery mode (powerbutton + volume up) but no luck. The tab is still on a stock fw 2.2 i believe. and no root or anything.
Im very new on the whole rom stuf so some help is needed on how to restore the tab. I havent flashed it or anithing. Also it gives a error like in the screenshot below:

oke i figured that much yesterday, when reading some topics, but wich rom do i need to use?? because i dont know how to root the tab because it wont boot ore is rooting not a must?

dude... get the latest 2.3.3 firmware...
you may check www.samfirmware.com to see latest firmware for your deivce. If you are in ASIA region, look for JPI edition. Its good, fast and stable.
Use ODIN to flash, with REPARTITION ENABLE... once complete flashing, reboot, and repeat the FLASHING again... DO IT TWICE..., but REPARTITION ONCE only...

Do i have to fully boot between flashing, or after first flash straight to download mode?

Im at your same state. My tab hangs on samsung logo and lets me to download alone. I can help you with the drivers part. Im sure you have the Kies in your system. Just push the on button and connect your phone to the pc and run Kies. You have an option to troubleshoot which will update the drivers for your phone. This worked for me. For the rest of the part, there is a chap who is helping me on this forum and he advised me to go for stock ROM. Ill try that today after sufficiently charging up my phone.
I ve been searching for a while now and looks like this is common and nothing much to worry about. Ill keep you posted on what happened on my attempt to odin flash the stock ROM.

Hello friend, my tab is back and working fine now. Hope tried connecting kies to get your driver up for the tab. Once its up you can get to the download and flash stock rom using odin. This would bring your phobe back to life.
I am currently running on overcome experience rom. Its pretty good and they have great instructions on their site. Try that you should be all set.

I have the exact same issue. I've been trying to flash a Euro 2.3.3 for the last 5 hours. Anything special you did before I create a new thread? I've done this a billion times on my old tab....I just got this one today off ebay.

Can you be more specific on the state of your G-Tab?
What firmware were you using before the problem occurs?
if you are updating from proyo, you will need to flash dbdata.rfs. For your reference you can follow these following steps (given you can access download mode).

I had tried to install ICS but done something wrong and my tab wasn't working.
after that followed instructions given here and its working after selecting factory reset.
Now only problem i have is kies don't show my tab's firmware version. And i also wanted to know how to store backup taken at ICS update thanks in advance

I doubt you will ever get Kies to work with custom ICS rom in your tab.

Use the latest version of odin. Also go into download mode before connecting to pc. Plase thank me if you found this useful.

[Q] Samsung Tab P1000 not powering on

hi i have a Samsung Tab P1000 and now its not powering on after i forced to switch off from downloading mode,because I'm trying to update from Froyo 2.2 to gingerbread 2.3.3 but after following the instruction from opening the odin, putting the pit file and PDA file and i click the start its only showing the setupconnection.......please help me.....thank you

did you try to charge it? If not do that and flash again.

yes....i tried to put in charge and it showing like this in the photo but if i remove from tha charger i cannot powering on and the icon will disappear.....

hi guy i ve the same problem, pls i just need to know if is an hard brick or just a soft.
I ve read many trhead on forum and i ve seen that if is hard brick i must use resurrection program but i cant find no link.

That diagram you had is the same thing as the download mode. So treat it as such and flash your rom and kernel normally and it should work. I had the same problem before. To be sure, tried the following thread. Go to the 3rd post in this thread and follow the installation instruction. It will work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382055

I get that every now and then too. I reinstall the drivers (included with Kies), and reboot the computer. After that it will work.

Does ODIN still recognize your Tab? If you are upgrading from froyo to gingerbread, you may need to load new PIT file as well as new dbdata.rfs.
If ODIN still recognize your Tab, try to download your choice of firmware again with PIT file included. I'll attach a working PIT for you.
Note: Please extract the attached file to get the .PIT file and put it on PIT field on ODIN along with your choice of firmware you are flashing.
Once you are done and reboot, mostlikely you'll be in a boot-loop stuck at SAMSUNG screen. Now reboot to download mode again, then flash the DBDATA.rfs.tar I attached on the following post in PDA field on ODIN:

unable to software update

hello guys m new here I hope m doing things right
so my problem is that my phone (rooted) stucked at bootloob after pureperformance flashed w/ cwm so the only method to survive was factory reset...and the phone worked normally except I cnt do ota bcoz of device status is custom even ive didn't installed any custom rom (actually ive tride this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030282 with odin before I had rooted my phone but failed to flash and device worked normally, so its nt the problem right?) :/
so after hours in the web ive seen posts sugget using triangle away and it reseted my flash counter only but device status still custom...so searched again for hours and hours and there were posts recommending replace cwm with the stuck recovery, but the problem my s3 mini didn't come with recovery mod !
again with continuous searching ive concluded it maybe a csc/baseband problem?cuz the one I have is very different from stock firmware available on the web (sammobile/Samsung-updates...)
I live in Jordan which has no sale code instead in /system/csc/customer.xml it shows that m on Iraq and my sale code is MID !

So you are stuck in a bootlop? If so Get Odin and some i8190 stock rom from sammobile install, drivers for your phone so the pc and Odin can detect the phone.
Open Odin,
Your phone must be turned off, now press volumen down button, home button and power button lastly hold these three until it turns on, now reléase the buttons it will boot into download mode
connect the phone Odin will detect it
then select ap
search for the rom you just downloaded unzip it if you didn´t select the tar file and flash it
when it finishes your phone will restart
