Since I installed 7.1 stable my nook always turn screen on when charging, even though the stay away option is unchecked. I already turned it on and off again, but still turns on.
Also I think it is related to SoD because it sometimes happens when I disconnect.
Thanks

That is absolutely normal behavior. You can manually turn screen off after plugging it in by briefly pressing the power button.
It is a workaround for a kernel bug. Just remember to click the power button when you plug it in.

I'm running Cm7 7.0.2 stable on emmc with the oc kernel (not a nightly) and the bluetooth will not power on. Everything else works perfect. Ideas?

While in the BT menu hold the power button until it shuts off. Then power up, it will work.
So go to bt settings and hard shut down. Upon reboot it will work, do I need to do this all the time or just once?
Thanks

Ya BT should work when you do a hard shutdown. Also try resetting permissions in the clockwork manager app.

I also found somewhere - goto wireless settings, turn off wifi reboot/shutdown. Turn back on, then turn on bluetooth, wait for bluetooth symbol, then turn on Wifi. Only need to do once. Wierd but worked for me.

Thanks, this worked. Love XDA for quick, correct answers!
Has anyone experienced their nook will shut off where the only way to restart is to power it back on?
I am running miui.us if it matters.

Yes, it is called Sleep of Death (SOD). It happens when you have wifi set to stay on when the screen turns off. After a while the system will go into deep sleep (as it's supposed to do) but if you have wifi set to also stay on, sometimes it will not wake up. There are workarounds to prevent this, but they are usually not very satisfactory if you want wifi on. Search the forums for discussions on SOD. It affects all newer versions of CM7 including miui.us.
I have this too, also running miui.us. My solution was to set the Nook to never sleep. I tap the power button when I'm done, the screen goes blank, I tap the Nook button or power button to use it again and it pops up in a second. Wifi quickly connects and I'm in business.
I have the phone since one week and several times has spoted strange behaviour, when I press power button to put device on sleep, screen turns black, but I can see backlight? When presed again on and off everithyng goes to normal. Any one else seeng this ocasional eradic behaviour?

I hardly belive it is fault of my unit.
I spoted it with original firmware and now ater unlock, root and revolution 2.2 (basicaly same firmware with modifications i like )
Actually i think Sony's devices get that issue. And that is because of the app is not compatible with the rom.
My solution: turn off the lock screen!

I don't think is the low battery mode, I don't have it turn on and it still have the problem, I think it is when the phone get some notifications or go to internet for data then the phone with get activated but it does not go back to total sleep mode.....
low battery mode for me. I've got it set at 15% and when it charged back to that amount the backlight turns on.
Just a glitch for me and a waiting firmware update.
An issue I've had with a few roms I've used in the recent past. Currently on Mourta's Liquid Smooth rom (KK). Sorry if this question has been asked before, I wasn't able to find any info.
Sometimes after turning the screen off, if I try to turn in back on, it won't. Trying to unlock the screen makes the hardware button's backlight light up, for a few seconds like normal, but the screen never turns on till I hard reboot the phone. The rest of the phone doesn't seem to freeze up. For example, music doesn't chop up, I still receive calls, and holding the power button gives me the vibrate signal that the power menu has opened.
I've re flashed the rom a couple of times, but I still get this problem on some level. Even if I leave the phone undisturbed for a long time and come back to it, the screen won't turn on till I reboot. Not sure if this is true, but I think the problem also happens if I try to unlock the phone too quick after locking it. Thoughts?
Already know problem on some roms it is called Screen of death sometimes happends because of low screen cpu freq sometimes because rom just go nuts.

I wanted to know if this particular problem had a name. Screen of death sounds apt. I wouldn't mind having to reboot a couple of times, but this problem has me rebooting well as much as 6 times a day
Lets call it Greg then. Flesh another rom and try it. Cm for example.

Hi!
I've noticed that if I TAP the power button of my device when it is turned off, it vibrates as if it has received a notification. I would like to know if it is normal.
When I flashed android pie I had some problems with the boot partitions that didn't allow my device to charge when turned off, that error was fixed by flashing again boot.
Is it possible that the vibration issue is an error of the boot?
I'm worried about the possibility of my device not really turning of (and probably wasting battery too).
Can someone check if his device also vibrates when TAPPING the power button when it is off?
Yes.. Mine also vibrate.. Need to hold for few seconds before device turn on.. I think that is normal..

It's a bug from Pie (Nov and Dec) I don't think it's anything serious.
Nothing is normal with that pie update...
