Can someone port the galaxy tab 7.0 plus for the galaxy tab 7 gsm?
Not much point to this as ICS is inbound. Its possible as now the HC source is out now but it's still not really usable.

Mee too, I would love to have fully working ICS, but lot of things in ICS are broken/doesn't work well currently. So properly working HC would be perfect for next months until ICS gets better.

There is an rc1 of an HC port for the sgt7 in the Dec forum that looks pretty much ready to go. Check it out.

Yes, so? It seems completely functional and OP didn't specify that he needed an AOSP version. And the ask version is much easier to port as the 7 plus uses completely different hardware and thus needs completely different drivers and system properties description. The galaxy s phone is actually much closer to the sgt7 than the sgr7 plus is to the sgt7

Hi,
After reading 'Ubuntu for Phones' from Canonical, I couldn't wait to trail run it on my Galaxy (Samsung Galaxy S I9000).
And, after reading the thread about the promises from XDA devs that 'Ubuntu for Phones' will be available soon on Galaxy Nexus, I'm damn sure that the day I run 'Ubuntu for Phones' on my Galaxy is not very far
http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...buntu-for-phones-coming-soon-to-galaxy-nexus/
Devs, are you already into experiments??
Hope, JB 4.2.1 is almost very stable and its time for Ubuntu
Thanks
I think only dual core phones.

the minimum requirement is a 1Ghz A9 chip and 512Mb-1gb of ram. I don't think we will se ubuntu phone on the galaxy s...
Linux has been installed and run with success already, on this phone.
I won't deny Unity might be too demanding for the I9000, but in that case you won't have to use unity just because you're running Ubuntu...
If optimized for the Nexus S, it should run fine on ours as well...
I'm sure going to try it, it will be available as a dual boot too right?

Is there any reason why 'Ubuntu for Phones' are restricted for single core phones (with A7 chips) by your opinion?
Is that a similar voice I hear, when Samsung says - Ice Cream Sandwich are not supported by older phones like Galaxy S I9000  (In a serious note, we are able to run Jelly Beans in a butter smooth mode)
Or is it true that there are plenty of stuff that 'Ubuntu for Phones' 've got, that a single core phones cannot load em? :crying:
Lets see what XDA Devs think about it and also, lets wait for a stable version from Canonical to release (for Galaxy Nexus first)
Thanks for your comments guys

Microsoft said minimum requirement for windows 8 is 1 GB ram. Someone succeeded making it run on old 128 mb ram. that was the dev preview though.
I an sure Ubuntu for phones will come to many phones including galaxy s and nexus s and don't worry...it will be very smooth.
Waits for users to badger devs to bring it to our phones lol
in xda. everything is possible.

Its a dev preview. Nothing is supposed to work, its just to give you the feel and look of the ROM.
When will it be improved?

Hi all. I recently bought another S3 4G and it feels no where near as good as my old S3 is there a way to tell if I have received a clone phone? It says galaxy S3 and I successfully installed ripper rom on it but it just don't feel right.
Also what is a room that has 0 system apps on it and is bare so I can start from scratch?
Thanks

Well when I plugged it into the PC it said hardware ID missing but then Kies installed drivers so I'm guessing so but not to sure.

Simply put: If it says it registers to be a SGS III and you can install a ROM that is device specific then it is an S III. If you are still curious though try finding a hardware reading or something and compare it to normal S IIIs

If it is running a Samsung ROM that would brick any other device other than the I9305, then it would have it.

My other question is what's a rom with everything removed and just the important things like phone and messaging ect

Well it was detected as a S3 and I installed 2 I9305 Roms on it so must just be because....... Well I dunno. Its black maybe lol? Just doesn't feel the same as my old S3 4G did.
It will grow on me

Hahaha I can imagine the feeling actually, well enjoy and I strongly recommend Liquid Smooth ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149746), it is basically the same as Cyanogenmod (both AOSP) but unlike CM it has an official build, less bugs (in my experience), proper support and a proper maintainer though it would not be there if not for CodeWorkx so many thanks to him.

Yes I have it on my phone, it has never bugged flashing. If it were to have the Samsung features then it would have a crap load of bloatware on it, making it slower etc. It doesn't even come with the calendar installed so it doesn't like bloatware (excluding GTalk)

Is it possible to port Ubuntu Touch to the TP? I think it'd be as awesome OS on this tablet. I used it on my Galaxy Nexus and it was nice but didn't have mobile data or calls. Since our device only needs WiFi that wouldn't be an issue. Just wondering if anyone has any plans to port it.

It probably wont be a fully working daily driver until Canonical releases a fully working daily driver though. So unless you want to have it for developing, dont bother.

Hello,
I hope this is true that Samsung are working on bringing Android 4.2.2 to our Tablet.
http://www.sammobile.com/2013/03/25...android-4-2-2-testing-on-1st-gen-galaxy-tabs/
This would be really sweet. X-ing fingers for the firmware to work properly (I don't see why it shouldn't).

R: Rumour: Tab 8.9 to get Official 4.2.2
If it's true I could also make a donation to Samsung, lol
I`d say this will never happen
Right now I'm happy with using the CM build but an official update would be cool; if only to help improve the performance for CM too.
I also can not believe it, as Android 4.2.2 seems not to support the Tegra2 any more.
R: Rumour: Tab 8.9 to get Official 4.2.2
4.1.2 would be enough though
http://www.sammobile.com/2013/03/25/t-mobile-us-update-the-galaxy-tab-2-to-android-4-1-2-jelly-bean/

Why not? There are enough custom roms on 4.2.2 and some of these working very good on Tegra 2.
samsung rom have quite much bloatware and eat more ram while custom rom doesnt but my intuition say it will come with some exception

Not really. Tegra2 is very bad supported and even the CM10.1 for our tab has the flicker issue.
Odp: Rumour: Tab 8.9 to get Official 4.2.2
It would be really cool if it will be also available for galaxy tab 8.9 lte p7320, since we don't have any jelly bean based custom roms for it... and it is still quite good device IMO
Im going to be picking up a Galaxy Gear tomorrow and want to know what roms work well. My favorite is AOKP 4.3.1 but im trying out kitkat and not sure what to have running to enjoy it.
