[Q] Tab goes into 3G mode when lock and not into wifi

Hi all
so at the beginning dont care about my english sorry
So the question is: How can i stop that my tab (overcome rom and kernel) to chane into 3g or other mobile network when I lock the tab? I can see that it is changing into wifi when i unlock it again so how can i stop that?
Ok i could tun of filemode but restart it when im not at a wifipoint needs time ;-)

Hey,
in the wifi-settings you can change the energy-options. (Click the menu-button in on the wireless-settings-page). I guess there is set, that the tablet should turn off wireless during standby. You can change it there to "always active".

(Request) Data Usage App

I'm currently using one which shows me my current daily data usage but can someone recommend an app preferably free where you can set your daily limit and it sends you a text or brings up a message on the screen when you are close to going over your limit?

does 3G watchdog send you a text or a message flashes up on your screen when your almost over your daily limit?
Only reason i ask is because i don't wanna download something unless it can do the above.

Yes it does,
If you have apndriod install too, they can auto use that to swtich off your GPRS once its over a limit that you set!

LG Lucid Flash to Page Plus

There's no forum for the LG Lucid, and this forum is as close as I can get to the Lucid. Move this post if you think it's necessary.
I bought a Verizon LG Lucid 4G and I would like to flash it to Page Plus. I have DFS CDMA Tool Demo version and QPST.
My Questions are:
How do I get my Lucid into Diagnostic Mode??? I believe I know all the step to flash my phone, but I can't seem to get my phone into Diag Mode. What code do I need to do so??
What are the steps to flashing my phone over to PP using DFS Demo or QPST?
I followed the steps this guy took to flash his HTC Thunderbolt 4G over to PP, but it's not working for me, probably because I'm not in Diag Mode. The guy used CDMA Workshop, but I did the same steps using DFS. Anything I change and write to the phone never saves after I restart the phone.

Note: I want to flash my phone without having to pay for any software, if at all possible.

LG Lucid Diag port is opened by 1) turning on USB Debugging and 2) Connecting as a internet connection > modem.
Make sure your drivers are installed.

Hey guys, im flashing this lucid onto page plus and can't seem to get internet (not even 1x) i haven't even bothered with mms until i get the internet. Heres what i've done so far, with cdma workshop v 3.8
1. Open with CDMA workshop
2. Connect to port and then read phone
3. Goto security tab and send 000000 as the spc to unlock the device
4. Head to main tab and cdma-2 drop down to select NV only on the R-UIM
5. Reboot the phone and then connect to security tab again to send the spc
6. Head over to the Other tab to change the PRL of NAM 1 and NAM 2 to the page plus prl
7. Reboot phone, security tab and send the spc to unlock the device to head to the main tab
8. Insert the MIN and DIR_Number for NAM 1 and 2
9. Next go into the EVDO field and enter the [email protected] for the NAI and have the password as vzw
10. go into the m.ip feild and and set the nai field as the [email protected] with the HA and AAA password as vzw
11. Make sure the P and S Ha address are defaulted to 255.255.255.255 and the home address as 000.000.000.000
are there any steps im missing after this? I can get talk and text but not internet?

HA and AAA passwords must be programmed from a donor phone.

So just direct flash the real keys to NAM1 and NAM2 and you should get data? And which Android version are you using?

Is this an actually phone #. If so, what is it?

when i get to step 8 it wont let me write the number on cdma workshop its saying parameter bad and sometimes its saying "Write Directory number... Failed - Command failed" please help what to do

Hey I'm also trying to flash an lg lucid 4g to page plus. Is it possible to flash the phone without having to be an authorized dealer or paying a outrageous fee to a dealer. If so what would I need to do?

I am a total tech newby. Is there a dummies tutorial on how to make this work? My cheap samsung net 10 phone did not like it's unplanned bath in warm dishwater. My cousin got a new phone and gave me her old lucid vs 840. I refuse to spend $40 or more a month for cell service with verizon. I just need a cheap phone and plan for when I am not at home. I work from home, only using a cell when I travel to my real office or take family trips.
If I can't figure it out, the phone still allows access to my wifi at home. My 9 yr old is watching netflix on it now.

So what do I need, hardware and software, to make this work? I have a charger and the phone. I think my kids have a data cable somewhere that will work to connect the phone to a pc, as 2 of them have lg phones with the same charger. If not, I'll see if my cousin has one still.
I bet if I drove into the 5 sided asylum and handed the phone to one of our young it techs, they could have it working in a short time.

Bad Gps signal

have problems with my gps. Not really with the reception but with gps lock. I have tried div. roms. Now on enox v2, tried diverent apps for gps improval on the market. Like TOPNTP, but with no luck. I have tried other gps configs, nothing. some screenshots

I've got the same problem...GPS fixing apps can help to get a signal faster, but the accurancy is horrible (~15m).

there's literally more fixes than there are users..
search fast gps fix in general search and pick your choice

Solution
Basically, Lg screwed big with the gps.conf file in /system folder.
It has so many setting, servers, and options in it, that the phone takes forever to follow the instructions and get a fix.
So i've read a lot of threads in xda and other sources i can't remender now.
Basically this is what you need to have in your gps.conf
NTP_SERVER=pt.pool.ntp.org
NTP_SERVER=0.europe.pool.ntp.org
XTRA_SERVER_1=http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_3=http://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
SUPL_HOST=supl.google.com
SUPL_PORT=7276
SUPL_SECURE_PORT=7278
SUPL_NO_SECURE_PORT=3425

With this gps.conf i'm good to fix sats in my country (Portugal) and in the rest of Europe in about 20 secs from cold. If i reconnect after, i get the fix in under 10 secs.
So, you just need to replace pt.pool.ntp.org with another value suitable for your country. You can find it here.
Of course, if you are in other continent, you must change 0.europe.pool.ntp.org for the value that suits you.
There you go. Just remember to hit the thanks button if i helped you.

I fixed the problem with gps status test and fix apk. you can download it from google play, after reset gps you will see the difference

I forgot to say. GPS accuracy is now between 4 and 5 meters. Way better than the previous 14 to 16 mts.

This fixed it for me on LG P880 Optimus HD with Vanir ROM
Locks instantly within 5s with ~10 satelites
Can't find the "thank you" button... but thanks anyway

Just make sure you are logged on, and the button should appear

Mine can lock them on all roms I have tried.

This app works for me.
Go menu key > tools > manage a-gps state > reset, then download. Reboot.

Post #6 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49275053&postcount=6) actually did it for me. I'm on official CM11 nightlies and
the gps.conf helps a lot. I usually get a fix within 30 seconds with 6 to 8 satellites.

Unwanted Network (Moviestar)

Hello all... In my trying of firmwares, XXLQE, XXLQI, UBLPH, UBLPK, I found on my phone at least, the best battery performance came from the VSLPA firmware. That is branded by Moviestar in Argentina.
My thing is more an irritation than a problem. In my wifi settings when it scans, the Moviestar network is listed and shows out of range. I remove the network manually but it comes back randomly. I want to remove it for ever as I do not think I'll be going to Argentina any time soon (not that don't want to go for sure). I hope someone knows where the network is stored so I can edit it out. Thanks in advance....

Apns are stored in apn.conf file in /system/ etc.
I dont know anything other than that.

Yea, that is a very long list of apn's but it isn't for wifi... just data and the access point names. Thanks tho... the search continues LOL :cyclops:

Oh i thought you were asking about access point settings of mobile data.
To remove the wifi network you just need to long press the access point and click forget. Doesn't that work??

I do that then upon reboot, it reappears LOL... it just won't go away for ever. So I am sure there is some file that can be edited, just haven't found it yet and google isn't a big help this time go figure....
