This is not the correct section...
Perhaps this is a WINDOWS MOBILE forum....
I think this is okay. Maybe we should have a section for marketing of mobile devices, etc... But this is a senior member & he posted in the general section. Maybe better in off topic, but I'll have to talk to a few mods 'cause I don't see anything wrong in this post.

I know, here is WM paradise, but... also people with mobile phones related business - I'm just lookin' for iPhone 3G wholesale for trading, and may be this is the best section (I think )
The different between "General" and "Off-topic" Section.
General=we can talk everything here but related with WM.
Off-topic=iphone.
Moving this thread now to Off-topic.
iPhone 3G wholesale? I don't think so. Apple have this very tightly controlled. As for the UK the only third party selling the iPhone is Carphone Warehouse.
So, if you're not Apple, O2 or CW then you just can't get it wholesale.

Not so sure, a few days ago I have two offers from Taiwan and China, but they want's 34$ per phone for unlock, but we talk about 800+ pcs and the price is going out of our limits, all apple's product are in Taiwan/China for example we have 100 pcs MacBook Air from Taiwan wholeseller all is about the money!
Haha that sounds like those Chinese "iPhones" you see on eBay that need styli to work... You can get those pretty cheap. ;-)

"Haha" ? Where do you think made all iPhones? And not also iPhones, almost all Apple products are from china and taiwan, just don't know what talking.... please keep what you saying for you
I don't know what language that is, but it's not english... I know where Apple products are made, that's not under debate. $34 per handset "unlocked" as you say (iPhones have never been sold unlocked?) just seems too good to be true when the retail is $599-$699. That's all I'm saying.

Unlocked iPhones in Spain:
http://viamovil.es/products.php?category_id=2#
For example... and the price is too good only when we talk about 500+ pcs
Heh, if Spain is anything like France (laws against locking to a certain carrier), and why else would Apple make an unlocked iPhone for the country... The phone is locked to that country. You can't buy a French iPhone from Orange and put an AT&T sim card into it, but you could put any other French carrier's sim into it and have it work. If they were truly "unlocked" to all carriers and countries, we'd see everyone buying their iPhone 3G from France instead of bothering with any other version.

Hey gang,
If anyone can help I will donate via paypal...anyone have a good sticky or tutorial on unlocking your N1 for any service provider? Do I just need to root it or is there more steps involvled? Thank you for helping a novice N1 user!

rayman,
The nexus one is already unlocked, but there are two types of N1s.
Here is a link explaining more in detail:

Thanks buddy a lot! My brother bought his N1 through t-mobile about 3 weeks ago off google.com/phone...and is already wanting to sale it for the iPhone 4G. So I guess its already unlocked he will just have to pay the cancellation fee to t-mobile when he sales it and switches over.
Thanks so much buddy.
I'm guessing that fee will not be insignificant.... And then to throw down $300 on a new phone, AND switch to AT&T in the process?
Ouch.

Some people just have money to waste and I think Apple targets people like that.
I love my N1. I don't think anyone could, reasonably, pay me enough to use an iphone 4 over my N1.
OP, you should show your brother how to put on Froyo 2.2 or root it and put on something like Cyanogen Mod. Soooo many more possibility than the icrap.
Dont forget that you will also have to pay the T-Mobile ETF and you also have to pay Google an ERF. So you have to Fee's to pay..
That is why iphone is the #1 selling phone out there...their targeted customers?
DUMB IGNORANT LAZY RICH PEOPLE...and a few poor ones that just want to look rich.
Lol we are no way rich...but if sold on ebay for $500.00 like some of the others won't you break even? Didn't know google had an etf...thought it was just t-mobile?
In your opionion since we are discussing what do you think N1 has over iPhone 4G? I have to admit I love the video chat thing on iPhone...only thing AT&T sucks...I think T-mobile probably has better service.
did you buy the phone unsubsidized or off contract? I
If you got it subsidized you have a T-mo ETF and the google ERF (equipment recovery fee). If you are withing the 14 days (which i dont think you are) you can send the phone back to HTC and cancel the T-Mo account with no fees.
If you are past 14 days, be prepared to drop some dough.
Yeah I told him that...hes not gonna switch now lol...I guess you gotta wait 4 months before you can get outta of googles etf...him and I both love the N1 just wish it had more games like iPhone...but theres so many things I like about the N1 that the iPhone doesn't have.
Dont change your contract. Just keep your tmobile account connected and buy an iphone outright when they are released and Jailbrek / unlock it to work with your tmobile sim (altho the simcard itself will need to be converted to Mini sim)
Thats a great idea...hopefully they won't go over $500 in price.

iPhones (including the new iPhone 4) are $599 and $699 full retail price (16gb/32gb).
They're $199/$299 on 2 year contract with AT&T.
Hi,
I am looking to trade my T-mobile Nexus One for one which works on ATnT frequencies. I will be arriving in the US in 15 days, and will be residing in Troy, New York (zip 12180).
The bootloader has been unlocked, but otherwise there is no modification/damage whatsoever. The phone is around 20 days old. I've been using a screen protector on it from day 0, so no scratches at all.
Would anyone be interested in a switch?
Note: I am looking for a switch only, please; not interested in selling. I'd prefer that the switch happens in-person. I'll post photos of the phone if anyone is interested, but really, it's brand new, no damage at all
Cheers.

Alternatively, if someone from India has that ATnT Nexus One and is willing to exchange in the next few days, that works out perfectly for me too. Note that in India, 3G will work on either ATT or T-Mobile Nexus One.
Just FYI, if you come to the states and don't have any credit history or SSN for the US, AT&T is going to charge you a HUGE "deposit" in order to open an account.
Whereas, T-Mobile will offer you a Contract Free plan without deposits, but no discounts on phones. This won't be an issue as you already have an N1.
You can get an Unlimited Everything plan (Minutes, Text and Data) for $79.99/mo.

I would very much want to go for T-mobile. But the problem is, most students in my area will be using ATT. Then if I have tmo, no one will call me, or vice-versa
Also, ATT has some sort of agreement with my university (RPI) where they don't charge a steep deposit for students without SSN.
I did a lot of research, and found that tmo is perfect for me, but due to, let's say, "peer pressure", I'll have to go for ATT
just so you know, ATT does not have no contract plans like Tmo does, you will be stuck in a contract if you go the ATT route, unless ATT has changed their tactics recently.
I would definitely want to avoid ATnT, fervently. But, unlike here in India, in USA even incoming calls are charged, so if most people around me are on ATT, I will have to use that, right?
also, isnt there a student (college) discount for tmobile? Im pretty sure there is.

That's not the real issue.. The problem is the majority. Is there any way to get around it?
Also, my cousin who is already staying there will add me to a family plan of ATT, which will bring down my cost a bit.
Actually, I don't really need 3G at all.. But problem is, ATT will force it on to me
What is the reasoning behind wanting to change to ATT in the first place?

I'm currently in India, I will be coming to the US in 15 days. Because most of my seniors and students around my area are on ATnT, won't I have to use ATT? Otherwise no one would be able to call me without both of us incurring charge, except for nights and weekends.
Well if you are on tmo and call someone on att then you will be wasting minutes, but thats normal. My advise if you are still unsure what to do is use tmobile for a month(off contract) then if you needs are not set, either by using all your minutes or what have you, then trade your nexus one in for an att version. Why make a long term 2 year contract without testing the non contract option first.
Thank you Blueman101, nice idea By "off-contract", are you suggesting I go for prepaid? Or "Even More Plus" with Flexpay?

Before you do so, consider this in your decision.
- T-Mobile has unlimited data plan and free tethering atm while Att doesn't.
- T-Mobile has cheaper plans that att. Although ATT to T-Mobile phone calls aren't free, there is a certain amount of minutes in your plan you can use during peak hours or calling other phones from another carrier. I don't think you'll go over 500-700 minutes chit chatting with your pals that's what text msgs are for.
- T-Mobile HSDPA (if theres coverage) so depending on your location is faster than att 3G.

Thank you. As a student, I don't think I'll be able to afford data/3G on my phone at all, and neither do I really need it. My only intention in switching to ATnT Nexus One is that if ATnT forces a data plan onto me, I'll be able to utilise it. But if there was a way to avoid a data plan altogether, I'd much rather prefer that!
Hmm yes you do have a point that 500 minutes won't be depleted, and I can talk during the off-peak hours. I think I need to re-evaluate my decision. Sigh, this is confusing!

Reading this thread, I think your best bet is:
1. If you cannot find someone to trade before you get here, fly in here, post on Craig's List LOCALLY and trade face to face, it will be faster and no costs to do so.
2. Since you are going to be added to a family plan, then your costs will be MUCH lower and since you are not getting a subsidized phone, they really can't force a data plan on you either way.
3. IF you decide on T-Mobile, see if your friends have the A-List option on their plans. If they do, they add your number and poof, no minutes to call anytime.
Regardless of what you decide, you really don't have to rush to trade your phone before you get here. It will work on AT&T or T-Mobile and it will be faster and easier to swap once you get here. Just keep it in good condition and make sure the one you get works.
Oh yah I remember... If you have the T-Mobile version of the nexus one then it will also work with att. You just can't have 3g on it, which you do not need in the first place. So you really don't need to trade after all.

As I said, I really don't want to swap (especially because this N1 has some sentimental value attached to it, too). My only reason behind doing is that ATT will force a data plan on me, and then I will be paying for a facility which I can't use anyway. However, I am relieved to hear that they can't force a data plan if I don't have a subsidized phone. Do I specifically need to request this, or spend hours with a customer support tech fighting over it?

I don't think I can afford an unlimited plan on Tmo either. And anyway people on ATT will still be charged, so others will be reluctant to call me/accept my calls. The concept of an A-list looks pretty good, though.
So, in the end it all boils down to whether (and how) I can avoid the unnecessary data plan they might add to my line in the family plan
Hi!
First off, I didn't know where this belongs, so I'm sorry in advance if this is the wrong part of the forum.
My wife and I are moving to Santa Monica in August, and one of my biggest struggles right now is figuring out what American carrier to go with (yep, this is MY issue to handle, since I'm the phonegeek in the family). I'll start off with telling you what we're used to here in Sweden, and I hope you can help us pick a carrier and maybe even a plan that will fit our usage after the big move.
We always buy our phones unlocked from electronics stores, ALWAYS. I'm currently using the OnePlus One which should be working fine in the U.S., but I am planning on getting an LG G4 in a few months. Wifey's got an iPhone 5S (European version, guessing she'll have to replace it in order to use 4G/LTE IB the U.S?) I suppose it depends on what carrier we choose, but if signing up for a plan and getting the phone along with it is a better option than cashing it we're of course willing to do so (I have absolutely no idea how this stuff works in America, as you might've understood by now...).
We're currently using Telenor, on a shared family plan. The cost for this is roughly $85 a month. It includes a shared 24GB of data, unlimited calls and unlimited texts. To be honest, this is way beyond what we ever use, so cutting the data amount in half should be no problem at all. We don't text or call that much either, but it's nice to have the ability to do so if needed.
From what I understand, Verizon locks their phones down tight. Locked bootloaders, SIM locked and whatnot. If this really is the case Verizon really isn't a viable option considering the fact that I'm an avid flasher of roms. My wife doesn't really care much about that stuff though, she's all iPhone all the way.
Any advice, thought or opinion is welcome and highly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply! I've read good stuff about T-Mobile so I think that's what I'll go with. Apparently I'll get 4G with a European LG G4 with them aswell so that suits me great.
Hey all,
I just got the 6gb version in today, but I cant connect to my network.
I was under the assumption that the Alpha would be supported by my carrier (Telus in Canada) but no go.
Now, I know the P25 can support the required bands , but is there a way to enable them? either by modding the radio/modem firmware or by software ?any help would be much appreciated.
Anyone? any help/ advice would be great.
Hi mistamikel!
Did you try the other sim slot? Had problems with Vodafone DE in the 1st slot.
If this isn't working you can check the available bands with MTK Engineering Mode

I’d like to find out if I could mod the radio firmware or nvram partitions to enable them.

You must be in a place where Rogers uses band 7 (lte) So at least you can use your device. Rogers runs on the old 2g for voice and text and in some places Band 7 (lte) which is why you're getting LTE.
I think all hope is lost as this place has become a shell of what it once was.,truly disappointing for long time members like myself.
You got that right this forum is going down hill. As for you phone speak to GearBest if you tell them you want a refund because the phone does not work in Canada they will offer you at least $40/$50 US back and you can keep the phone or sell it or just return it to GearBest for a full refund
I took the option for $50 and I got to keep the phone

I finally received mine today and it is a good-looking smartphone. However, I am sorry to hear about your case. Let's hope somebody will find a way around this issue - if Maze Alpha is not releasing any custom ROM (which might provide possibility of modding the OS for additional feature to be enabled)..

Maze Alpha is a nice smartphone. Not going to use it as a daily driver because of the lack of case for it. Until I am able to customize a case for it I am going to always leave it at home.
Good to know you always have a way to get your money back. I have been looking at buying iPhone X(10) - not until the price has fallen down dramatically I am not going to dish out such huge amount for a phone with some facial recognition issue.
I am receiving 3G on a 4G LTE network.
Hey man!
My package hasn't arrived yet but tell me something that this issue was there before flashing or it occurs after flashing ? if it occurred after flashing i think i can help
