guys i'm using MIUI which is based on CM7 from what i understand.
lovely fast rom with huge plus-es over all ROMs around here but i have some issues that bother me and make me wanna switch....dunno if they're CM7 or MIUI related so...
- contacts don't have first/last name, only a name field
- can't choose to save new contacts to google, sim, phone, etc.
- 720p video taken from any camera app stutters and skips frames
- battery life a bit worse than stock ROMs
my question is: do the above things work OK in CM7?
I'm using MIUI I don't experience your problem..

which one of the above?
battery life is common on cm7, which is what's running on my phone. 720p video recording not stuttering, have you tried reflashing your rom? or rebooting your phone.
My phone is unable to maintain stable reception, especially when using data. It seems as if the antenna is constantly resetting (i.e. no signal>EDGE>3G>H>no signal...again). This happens with every rom that I've used (currently using CM 7.2 ME v3.0). Can someone please help me with this?
Same problem I'm facing. My networks are very unstable. Using CM7.2rc5.7
Post modified: I'm using now CyanMobile Initial A Rom by Squadzone which is much better than Rc5.7 but still it's not 100% bugs free...

I've had some good and bad experience with some roms, right now i have 2.3.6 ddq8 rom, it's good .. has some pros and cons ... has anyone tried both,, 7.2 rc3 cyanogen and 2.3.6 ??? which is better....??
need to work properly:
- battery
- speed
- camera
- gps
Last KTM Spain Stock rom is better than DQ8 and has lockscreen bugs fixed.
Battery is (from what i've tested) better
Speed ... better
GPS ... good, like DQ8
thnx will try that one...

U will not regret it !
report back in a while ...
Tried them both, still prefer cm7.
I don't care that much about battery life, and the customization is insane. Daily use Apocalypse rom, very stable if you don't overclock it.
You can't really compare them, as they are to different things
CM7:
-Speed
-Themes
-More features
Stock:
- IT JUST WORKS
BTW:MY FIRST POST

The cm7 ROMs r not quite speedy now after the release of recent stock ROMs
Btw, i personally think that CM7 ROMs excel at sound quality becoz of the libs, the stock music quality sounds awful

I need it to work, reliability is what im looking for, and till now seems that is waaaay beter than ddkq8 build... Even battery seems that doesnt drain that fast, will report back tomorrow, lets see how it does in a common work day...

Stock is better for your needs.
Stock (with scripts and different kernel)
- Stable
- Fast
- Good Battery
CM
- Customizable
- Most things work but still has bugs.
- Good battery

working ok since yesterday,
i'll stick with this rom... still had to remove some bloatware and flash my modem for the gps to work, no complains...

Your screenshot shows that you charged phone multiple times and barely managed to get 16 hrs battery life. I have tried more than 30 ROM's and I have not seen a single Cyanogenmod beating Stock ROM's in battery life. I have tried various settings and various apps that could control CPU settings yet CM7 never managed to give me a better battery life.
Hey guys...
I was using v30b,but I'm wanting to switch over to cm10. So, which is the best option for me, In terms of performance and battery life?

Dark mod is cool. Nightlies are getting better since it's not 4.2 yet...
Don't use M snapshot, nor "stable"... it means nothing.

Hi I see that sound quality in custom roms are degraded a lot. Not sure if anybody else has noticed it. I tried almost all the Kernels and most of the mods like beat, Vodoo etc, but all i see is that in these mods we can change bass treable etc, but quality of sound still remains bad, when i say quality its purely clarity. Sound in Stock rom is very clear, where as in custom roms its not.
Is there anyway we can use the samsung provided sound libraries in custom roms? Also cross platform support will be a issue i guess, as stock rom we have only till 2.3
What headphone are you using? Does it have a mic?
I tested my phone with stock phone there was no differences also my phone was very clear than stock rom cm 10.1 4.2.2
Fishear kernel

u r right
You are wrong. Sound is much better with jellybean. Decrease right side of equlaizer. It's better for sgs.
