I don't know what I've done to my phone, but I am unable to add or edit any of my contacts on the phone. I removed the stock contacts application - I wonder if that cause the trouble.
I am using aContacts now, and if I try to add or edit a contact the program crashes. I am given the option of emailing a crash report to the developer, which I have done, but I am pretty sure that it's not aContacts fault as the same happens with any contacts application that I use.
If I go to the phone application and press the Contacts tab I get a "Sorry!" blue window that says:
"The application Phone (process com.sec.android.app.dialertab) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. ..."
Does anyone have any ideas???
[Q] After updating firmware to I9000ZSJV5, SMS "Reply" function/button missing.
Hi All,
Good Day!!!
After upgrading my GT-I9000 16GB firmware from 2.2.1 to 2.3.3 (JV5) via KIES
on my PC, Everything works fine except the below SMS functions is missing:
1. If I click on a SMS for reading, it is opening and showing in the yellow colour background.
But not able to open the SMS in a larger black screen.
2. If I single touch/click on the yellow coloured SMS, then SMS is only flickering and nothing happened.
3. If I touch and hold the SMS, then it is showing "Message Option" Which showing the below Functions:
"Delete message, Copy message Text, Lock msg, Forward, Copy to SIM, View msg detail".
But "REPLY" function is missing in the "Message Option" menu.
4. So, I am not able to reply to the SMS, because "REPLY" function is missing in the menu.
The "REPLY" function was working perfectly on the previous
2.2.1 firmware, But after upgrading to 2.3.3 (JV5), I am not able to reply to any SMSs.
Did you faced this this kind of problem on your JV5 firmware?
Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hi all.
First of all, my setup: Custom ROM JVZ odexed 2.3.6, Semaphore 2.1.1 JVZ, modem JVS, CristalBlue Theme. I have only root, no other changes like density etc.
I have a problem with native SMS and Dialer app. After few days, when I tap SMS it turns on (with list of SMS) and imediatelly it turns off... The same problem is with dialer. I tap phone, comes dialer, then tap some number (to find contact) and dialer turns off to home screen.
I had all contacts in phone, whole names and surnames only in surname (sometimes longer - 23 characters) so I tried to move contacts to gmail, erase all from phone, then synchronize, wipe cache/dalvik and fix permissions and all seemed to be ok, but after few days, problem lasts... This problem I have had even on 2.3.5 ROM JVR.
Other dialers don't have this problem, but I dont like use others, than native (SMS too) - theme is pretty and dialer simple.
It seems, like SMS and dialer, have problem between contacts nad syncing names in SMS and looking up for contact in dialer.
Does anybody now solution of my problem?
Thank you very much.
EDIT: So many devs here and nobody has any idea?
I tried almost everything. Could be problem with hardware? Where is call log stored?
EDIT2: Dont anybody work on BT fix for com.android.phone for JVZ ROM odexed? I think, that problem is with BT, so I would try fix, but none for JVZ...
Well, SGS was in service. They only flashed firmware and said, that problem is solved...
First, phone connected to KIES, but it wrote, that phone doesn't support actualization by KIES. Then, after cca 5 days of use(official firmware without flashing), problem with BT, dialer and SMS is back... BT disconnect, dialer turns off (no FC)... So, today back to service...
When I dial a number, it is sometimes showing "Shanghai" under the caller's name or sometimes some strange word, anyway to fix it?
And how to disable the voice when try to edit the home screen?
Thanks in advance
Prior to updating to Android 4.3 I would always get the "com.htc.bgp has stopped unexpectedly" error message following each restart. After updating to 4.3 that specific error message stopped appearing, however two new error messages have starting popping up post-update. These two new error messages seem to be related to a couple of other issues I am experiencing which are that I cannot change my ring-tones or notification sounds. When I attempt to do so in settings there is no response when I select (tap) either one to change the tone.
The reason I say they seem to be related is because both of the error messages appear when attempting to change sounds. The first occurs when I select "notification sound" for text messages from the settings tab in the 3-dot menu in the top-right corner of the "All Messages" screen. The second occurs when I try to change the tone for the alarm in the clock app. Basically at this point I cannot change any of the phone's sounds for ring-tone, notifications and alarms because I either get no response, as described above, or an error message. I did notice that I still have the ability to change tones within the gmail app.
Has anyone else experienced this subsequent to the Android 4.3 update? Any ideas how to fix this? A simple restart did not correct the problem. BTW I am not rooted.
