[Q] Amount of free memory - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I've noticed something interesting. The amount of free memory reported by the "Task Manager" (Quick Settings -> Total Memory), is vastly different from the amount reported in Applications -> Running Services.
What causes that?

I bellied HTC has not built a very accurate program.... The Android one logically would seem to be more accurate.

I use SystemPanelLite to manage all my running programs and services. It also shows processor and memory usage. Definitely better than any of the stock programs to monitor that stuff.

Is there any app that shows me which Apps are using the CPU? I got a high CPU usage and want to check why

There is an android native way you can see going to Settings => About Phone => Battery => Battery Use

Isnt exact enough

It seems quite enough for me as it appears to show one to one power comsumption.
But you could do a search over the market and might find as well.

Is there a way to get the stock battery stats like you would get in vanilla Android 2.2 (or greater), rather than the simplified info that Sense gives you?

what can i do for this

all android phones have much background apps processes
and i think its kill our ram memory
what is the best solution for this bad thing in our SGN or all android phones
thanks for all

No need to worry about background processes. Android is very efficient, Its releases apps from memory when the user needs it.
App killers are a waste of time, If you want to use one, Use the built in task manager.

the common (and mostly true) wisdom is that "free RAM is wasted RAM"
PS. check here: http://www.androidcentral.com/ram-what-it-how-its-used-and-why-you-shouldnt-care
As others have said you should not worry about RAM being used android will kill processors when ram is needed, unless of cause you have a rouge app leaking memory, but you would see this as a app not a background process
Actually apps running in background is a good thing

Task killer too agressive

I've noticed that my browser gets dumped from ram quite often, even if I don't use a different app. It seems to be time constrained.
The reason this is so annoying is I really hate when the browser has to refresh the page.

Can't corroborate. I've had Chrome sitting in the background for over a couple hours now without it requiring a refresh.

Is this the one X forum, or just deja vu?

****. I'm concerned about this because my old nexus 10 would do the same thing. I wonder if 2GB is just not enough memory for these high resolution displays. A good chunk of it goes towards video memory, leaving less for the OS to work with.
My stupid n10 would constantly dump tabs on chrome, no matter the type of rom I used (stock, aosp-based CM and AOKP, or just random aosp builds)
Thing is, it's retarded because there's always plenty memory available

This is not all about the overall free memory... This is about the threshold of the OOM of android. If I had the HTC One right now I could explain it to you easily but sory my answer right now is too generic so just search what those are...
@greengoldmello
There's no such thing as "dumped on RAM" as all active apps are running on RAM. Once they are flushed/removed from RAM that's the time your apps refresh when opened again.

A small htc one question

I decided to get the one but I have a small question is it a good multitasker as I had the one x and it is bad at multitasking another thing is how much free ram is available [a screenshot while on task manager after clearing the ram would be awesome]
thanks in advance

The One X was "bad" at multitasking cos of HTC's tweaks to how multitasking on Android works. I don't think the One actually comes with a built in task manager. I don't have my phone with me right now so I can't check yet As far as free RAM goes, you'll have tonnes more than the S4, and the One is super smooth no matter what you do. Have a game running in the background? Everything else is still smooth as butter with it running in the background.

How to maintain best performance as possible?

Any tips that you guys recommend? Perhaps a tool that identifies the resource-intensive processes?
It's pretty fast 95% of the time but just wondering

Apps that you downloaded, but don't use them, just remove. Get good quality apps from reputable source/brand. Your phone should let you know if the app is using more resources. Restart your device at least once a week to free up some RAM. In the settings, on the battery screen you will be able to see if an app or hardware is using % of battery.
