gust that
Sorry for my English

Follow these instructions:
1) Remove battery
2) Insert battery
3) Switch on device
4) Press back buttons constantly to access xrecovery
5) Do a full wipe
6) Reboot
7) If it works, click thanks

If the above doesn't work, use Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) to revert to stock SE rom, then... I guess it's just to start all over again. Or continue to run Android 2.1, it doesn't suck all that much I think.

Well, you are lacking fundamental information in your OP post ...
a) WHAT ROM do you use?
b) WHAT exactly did you do at the attempt to install xRecovery? What file did you use, how do you install things?

If memory serves me right then GC85 requires nAa's kernel to be used, in which case you can't have xRecovery as the custom kernels ONLY include CWM.
This means you have to flash through the included CWM and select "Restore xRecovery custom zip" (or however the option is called - it should be there)

Well if you don't know what kernel your using u have a 99% chance of running stock kernel. You never unlocked your bootloader and the install any of these kernels right: linuxdx, alfs kernel, nAa kernel, etc.?
Next time make sure u read the first post of the ROM as it said 8.5 won't work with stock kernel and remember u need to use xrecovery when installing gingercruzt not cwm.

Make up your mind ... what ROM do you now use? Stock 2.1.1 or MiniCM7?
If you flashed MiniCM7 _WITHOUT_ unlocking the bootloader and installing nAa's Kernel you're out of luck, mate ... it's clearly written in the MiniCM7 post that nAa's Kernel is required to make the ROM work (you know, reading skills is the least thing the developers expect from you).
Before you now venture into "oh, then let's unlock the bootloader and flash that kernel thingy" you may want to READ the posts around here as there's a good possibility that bootloader unlocking can hard brick your device when it's within a certain production date (applies to X8/E15 and W8/E16).
If you're on Stock 2.1.1 and xRecovery is not working you most likely made a mistake during the steps of installing xRecovery in 2.1.1 (though it's actually a piece of cake to install it once the phone's rooted).
Anyhow ... this shall wrap up me posting in the X8 section now that I retired the phone ... I've got things to read to make my new Galaxy S II a worthwhile experience.
Sorry for the "Thanks" - mouse/hand coordination failed on me.

Sorry for my bad English. Yep , I had Stock 2.1.1 Kernel , flashed with flashtool loader and kernel for 2.1 and then used xRecovery to install MINICM7 . After install , i made a fully wipe in xrec and rebooted. Then it happened . Hope my english is good enough^^

Please help me somehow :s

Well, mate ... you have two options ...
a) Unlock the bootloader and install the required kernel for MiniCM7 through Flashtool - ONLY if you are 101% SURE that your phone is NOT in the manufacturing date range that would turn your device into a hard brick (Read this).
b) Grab Flashtool and the required SE Stock ROM FTF file. Flash back to Stock 2.1.1 (through Flashtool), root (through Flashtool), inject xRecovery (through Flashtool) - or slap in DualMode Recovery manually (through x8toolbox) - and install another custom ROM (like GingerDX + Stock Kernel Modules Addon) that does not require a custom kernel (therefore bootloader unlocking).
Here's a guide to follow for option "b"
Is it really that hard to figure out - when everything is already posted all over the place?

What does he mean about flashing it to Gingerbread ROMs? I'd appreciate the help.
And is getting the stock ROM as simple as downloading it and then flashing it with CWM? and will i need to update it to the latest basebands or is there one already updates that's available?
Thanks

It's is highly advisable to be on stock ROM. Just flash it via PCC/SEUS. Why this is required , I don't know. But always people recommend unlocking on stock ROM. I too would therefore recommend the same. Get back to stock ROM
Don't risk it by unlocking on GDx v025
What he means that the kernel is meant for ICS ROMS only and is NOT meant for GB or stock ROMS
Another thing
So...
1) Flash Stock Rom using SEUS (will this be the one with the latest baseband and will my phone still be rooted?)
2) Unlock Bootloader while on Stock Rom (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436957)
3) Flash ICS kernel while on Stock Rom (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24304432)
4) Flash MiniCM9 (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575094)
Am i right?
Also, is it necessary to install all to Google Apps which nAa has provided a link to?
And where does the currently rooted state of my phone lie in all of this?
Thanks

Not sure about SEUS , but if you use PCC , your phone gets unrooted.
I guess both ways, you have to root again. But that's not a cumbersome task. Just use superoneclick and then place xrecovery files in /system/bin
Just make sure that after flashing the kernel , you flash the ROM directly after it. If you reboot your phone after flashing the kernel , you will encounter a soft brick.
It is not necessary , but recommended. I would suggest that you flash Gapps (Google Apps) , and then manually remove the applications you do not want by using apps like "Root Uninstaller" from the Play Store.
I did not understand your last question.
I am 99.999% sure of what all I told you is correct. However , since I have a locked bootloader , I might have missed somewhere (I'm sure I have not though)
I unlocked my 11w18 with GDX , no problems

[SOLVED][Q] How to stay safe in stock ICS...?

Friends,
I was on stock GB unrooted. Updated my device using OTA. After update I have performed factory reset /data wipe by recovery once and by settings menu too with erase everything option.
After that rooted my device using Dr. Ketan's method.
Every thing is running fine.
My question is
1. Because I have performed factory reset twice,am I effected by emmc bug?
2. What is the safety precautions for me now? Something like safe kernel or Revert back to GB...? Or anything else?
3. After rooting Uninstalled many useless stuffs like live wallpapers, yahoo finance etc. If I want to be on stock condition, what will I suppose to do?
thanks for reading....
Waiting for Guidance....

I could recommand you to flash a safer kernel than the original one.
With standard ICS Stock Kernel, you NEVER should wipe anything. The brick issu is due to a specific ERASE command sent by the wipe function to Samsung chips. (I hope I am clear enough)
For exemple, you could find under development part of the forum the Franco Kernel which avoid the MMC_CAP_ERASE problem under ICS.
But please check before that this kernel is compatible with your ICS Rom.
See here => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1659768

You have to flash a stock Gb rom through pc Odin. Read dr.ketans thread in development section it has all the info you need.

thanks...but can i use the pc odin ? gb roms are safe to root, cwm and flash custom roms?
If you are on official ICS kernels then DO NOT WIPE ! Neither "FACTORY RESET" via the settings nor via CWM.
GB kernels are safe, you can flash wipe without fear.
Try out ICS roms with Franco/Speedmod kernels they are free from the EMMC bug, but at the same time follow the install instructions carefully.
Cheers

Do NOT factory reset/wipe any more now that you are on stock ICS just to be sure you won't brick! You are hopefully not affected by emmc bug because you are still running your phone. There is a chance you can damage the chip and it will work for a while until you wipe again and then it can fry, but let's hope it won't.
I would HIGHLY recommend you go to a CM9 kernel or ROM base. They are smooth, efficient, SAFE, etc.
You will have to PC Odin a stock rom from drketans thread in android development to go back to stock. Unless you plan on going back to stock GB, I wouldn't worry about it. Don't go back to stock ICS, it's not worth it IMO.

To root or not to root should be your decision.
Dr. Ketans method of rooting is safe if you follow the instructions carefully.

Change Model Number

I just installed GingerElite V2 on my X8 and have had a good experience with it. But I just noticed one issue that keeps bugging me, in the about phone settings the model number is displayed as E16i which is wrong as I have the E15i. I tried changing the build.prop file but it keeps restoring the E16i model name, is there any permenant way of fixing this?
PS: I changed the build.prop with root access so it is not about my modifications being rejected-its the system restoring the default value.
Also I have done research but could not find any help.
I use gingerelite v3...it is the same, maybe can't change.

first of all thanks for instant reply. as guided by you i had gone through the link but i did not understand the procedure.
Points at which i am confused are as follows.
1 First flash GB ROM if you are on any other ICS/Custom ROM
*****What is this GB ROM and how to flash it and where i can find it out?
2 wipe cache, data from recovery on GB ROM
*****how this step is done?
3 Download ICS ROM, and extract it to .tar file
****once i download ICS ROM then where i have to extract the file on (PC or Mobile) or just .tar file i have to extract and where to extract.
and where the procedure had completed.
thanks

Pre procedure
go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191 and download DDLR9-INU zip file and place it on the EXTERNAL SD ( This is a safe kernel)
use this rom N7000DDLR9---4.0.4/12.09.12-N7000ODDLR3
download the ICS rom from the link in the previous post.. it will be a zipped file. extract on pc and you will get a tar.md5 file.
download odin on pc (in the link provided earlier) . run odin.
put the phone in download mode (vol down+power+home) then (vol up)
connect phone to pc using cable .. now odin will show yellow as shown in figure.
select the PDA tab and point to the file you extacted. and make sure only the shown options are ticked as in the figure,
press start.
wait till the flashing completes.
the phone will boot automatically. (running ICS on stock kernel.>not safe to do any wipes)
if the phone doesnot boot ( stuck in boot loop)
boot into recovery (vol up+power+home)
choose install update from external storage
now select the philz kernel you downloaded.
after flashing, boot into recovery again and do a wipe data /factory reset , wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache. reboot now.
*** you will loose your apps and data.. hope you have a backup

Ok, nevertheless of your wishes that a forum be able to answer all your questions, believe me it doesn't. Go back to your forum and ask again, maybe in an appropriate manner other than my phone blinked out, or something of that appropriation.

May be you should first check if the ace can be flashed the same was as galaxy note. Google it and you will find answers.
If it's the same way. samfirmware.com will help you get stock firmware for ace

good. was it the same way?
Always keep your phone stock if you cant manage the few bugs. Customs roms are mostly for devs or those who can handle things. Crying everytime wont save u. Ur always fine until the phone is working. There is mostly no helpbif ur device unfortunately gets bricked. So always beware and use roms on recommendation of developer.

How to go back to stock rom JB from Paranoid Android 3.56 on Galaxy Note GT-N7000
Good day All !
My G-Note has been on PA 3.56 for about 15 days now, the battery life is extended, though I started loving it, it is laggy.
I intend to go back to stock rom JB with root (kernel which gives best battery life).
Appreciate any pointers on the process to go back to stock JB with a good kernel.Thanks.
Go to dr ketans thread for how to flash and also for stock rom download.. Once you have flashed stock rom use philz kernel to get root and brick safe kernel with cwm.
Edit: here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 for downloading stock rom and how to flash stock rom
and
here is the rooting guide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
follow this method: 1A.Root + safe kernel + advance recovery. [Recommended method]

[Q] How do i know

i installed philz recovery yesterday after which i bricked my n7000 while i tried installing the C-Rom .
I just now used ODIN to get back to my STOCK ROM that is 2.3.6.
Its really interesting to see how i can just go back to the first firmware my phone came with
Please suggest me a combination of a custom recovery & a custom ROM without getting bricked .
as im new to this open source & trying new things for my phone ,i would like to try something according to your experiences .
Something which is stable ,smooth and latest !!
Thanks !!
i have read many many posts and whenever i try to install any recovery, i get E:verification failed !!

While on GB you cannot install any kernel from recovery.. only using Odin. . You have to be either on ICS or JB to be able to follow Philz kernel install steps.

First of all, Thanks a lot for your reply. Now i understand why and how my several attempts failed
now i clearly understand that if im on JellyBean , then i can install kernel from recovery.
I just updated my phone to JellyBean using the official update option in the phone.
Can you please direct me to the right link to install kitkat rom from using odin .

KK cannot be installed using Odin as its a custom rom.. As you are on JB, root it using one of the Philz kernels matching your rom build number (post 3 or Philz thread TW).. The flash raw r4 kernel, boot into its recovery and then flash KK roms.

Please kindly just reply by answering the specifically asked question regarding the kit kat rom.
I am in a confused state as i can see there are a huge amount of ROMs available many are nightly made, which say them to be not in a stable state.
Found the SlimKat in the forum ,downloading the ROM SlimSaber-n7000-4.4.2-20140531.zip 139mb
Installation instructions..
Download the latest build from [here]
Gapps ( if you don't have it already) from [here]
!Recommended! Full wipe, and manual format /system
Flash ROM and the gapps you want, reboot
Maybe a silly question but ,Do i need to download the gapps files & why ??

Please kindly start to grow up and read and learn yourself. Do not expect spoon-feeding from other members.
This is a development forum. It is not expected that you are a developer but it would be a sign of respect to read their threads and follow their instructions - they spent a lot of their time writing them. And if you not understand then try to use the search.

Not one of these questions show anything of this:
the first is part of the installation instructions.
the second can be found with the search (and was answered thousands of times)
the third is simply against XDA rules
To flash a kitkat rom, the recovery needs to be compatible with SE linux.
The recovery is part of a kernel
To flash a kitkat rom you need to flash a recent kernel first.
Try flashing raw kernel r4,r5, or Forest-CM11. it does not matter that they are incompatible with your current or future roms, they will get overwritten when you flash a rom (roms include kernels).
Then reboot recovery or restart phone and enter recovery again.
Then you wipe cache, data, and system.
Then flash the kitkat rom of choice.
