Rom manager - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

Do you think it would be worth it to buy the paid app or people wont be releasing their Roms through it.
I never been a big fan of cm6 or 7 roms and that's what I always see on there

I've never been a big fan of ROM Manager. It's a good skill to learn how to do things through CWM and navigate through it. I've heard of some weird stuff happening when flashing through ROM Manager too. If you do it through CWM you know exactly what you are installing and it's much easier to troubleshoot what you did wrong if something ends up not right.

Yeah
I always been big on sense which is why I moved away from the galaxy line

Why do you say so

No custom ROMS?

Looking for a custom or stripped stock rom for the Sanyo Zio, the phone is just too slow. Sprint version of course!
Thanks

I for one am enjoying the Zio It actually feels like a solid device ( Using 2.2 and OpenZio ) compared to my HTC Raphael. Decent specs, just needs a streamlined ROM. Patience is a virtue Besides, Cricket here in Baltimore is AWS so it looks like the device lineup is limited anyway...... you might want to check up on the type of service you are using in your area too Not ANY WCDMA cell will work.....but maybe I should have let you buy it and waste money / time trying to flash it to cricket
Happily enjoying my 50 / Month all everything plan..... much cheaper than the 140 I was paying ATT using my Rhodium. I get the same if not better speeds with MUCH lower latencies!!!!
We've got a pretty decent rom being put together. It's alot of trial and error. We need more help to get to a beta release.
We have many that want custom roms, but how many are willing to contribute?

Ill hop in IRC when I get the chance after I'm done with portal 2. Should be able to flash and test if my off time coincides with when you guys are working on it.

I'm down for being a beta tester. Any chance there'll be an overclockable kernel?
I thought someone was working on an oc but I haven't heard anything recently. I think I'm gonna have to learn to do it. I honestly have no experience overclocking kernels. But if anyone with experience could help it would be much appreciated.

Use Telstra stock. Tethering works, print works, no ATT bloat.
I can care less about bloat I'm carrying around 150 ish apps and I actually use them time to time so an extra 10 won't be a major deal

Depends entirely on what your experience is. There's a big difference between learning to cook having never cooked a thing in your life, and learning to cook French cuisine if you're already a master sushi chef.
I'll play it safe and say I've never cooked a thing in my life, but my dad is also a system engineer and could help if I needed it. I'd rather learn without his help.

Start with an RUU. Run the RUU on your PC. Stop at the first screen after it's done loading, don't proceed, but don't close the window. Start/Run and type %TEMP% and hit enter (this will take you to your user temp folder). Sort the folders by date and open the newest. Here you should find Rom.zip. Use this as your base ROM in the kitchen. Root it, deodex it (or not), zipalign it, etc - and you end up with a flashable ROM from an RUU

Post your Favorite Custom Rom

What is your favorite of them all?
Mine would be:
1. MIUI
2. Rootbox

Can't blame you. As much as I call it "work" flashing & re-flashing ROMs I can only imagine how much work it is to make them. One reason I have never taken that step to get to the next level here as I also deal with so much tech stuff at work and don't want it to consume all my free time too. BTW I also would never want to be doing those 24 hour dev marathons you do, hope you will finally sleep and pour those God awful Monster drinks down the drain where they belong! OK I'm through preaching.

I love the AOSP 4.0 ROM. It's the only one where everything feels snappy. The only issues with it though is that GMAIL doesn't show me my email messages at times. It just shows a white screen. It gets fixed with a reboot, so it's not a huge issue.

That's an old bug with custom ICS ROMs that are all based on CM9. You can go into settings, apps, GMail and clear cache when that happens instead of rebooting each time. Just keep in mind you'll probably still get that bug from time to time as it was never fixed.
