well i have a x8 now and i really don't like it's software . so i decided to install a "froyopro v1.1". well the main problem is that i can't connect it to my pc to see the main contents of it. when i try to connect it my pc shows a message " the device maybe be damaged or usb is not connected,reinstall ... " nor does sont ericson program recognises it..
i need someone to make me a list of the steps needed to install a custom rom on the x8 and maybe a solution for this problem
p.s:i used to have an htc td2

Definitely you are at the right place! Kirimada provide you awesome link, try to use it for your purpose! BUT DON`T FORGET to search around on this forum manually as you will find all information you need about the problems that you will have to solve while you are tweaking your x8! You will probably stack on some stair so come back here any time to search for the solution of the unexpected problem! There are many custom rom`s as well, don`t forget to put an eye on all of em ....

Hi all PDA and HTC lovers.I have an ALPINE which is stuck on "windows mobile" screen. Thats because I was upgrading a new rom but during upgrade connection between my PDA and my PC was interrupted then I got many error messages on screen but it was too late now I cant get my ALPINE into bootloader mode and I only can see "windows mobile" screen when I plugged charger.Is it possible to make it run my alpine again. I would be very pleased if you could help.

Stuck on window mobile screen
I got similar problem on XDA Exec last week and fixed it. I do not know whether the steps will help on you XDA IIi or not.
I was upgrading the XDA Exec to a newer ROM version and keep getting country error code. Whatever I did caused the device to stuck on window mobile screen. I simply put the device into the cradle after reseting it. The screen still shown the window mobile image. I ran the ROM update program again (I think it is MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe). It showed an error but I ran it again withthout taking my device out of the cradle. It run sucessful the second time.
I notice that when the program runs, it close ActiveSync application from your desktop and the device screen turns to black screen with some simple texts on it.

hi my fellow Siddiqui I couldnt solve that problem yet.And I tried to upgrade it again and couldnt manage to do that **** upgade please help me...Do I need to send it to HTC to Dubai? and I dont know how much does it cost ? can u please tell me if u know more about this topic?

which Rom were you trying to install? what was the reason of getting the upgrade interupted/corrupted? I can upload the PUGs rom (as I am using it and its fantastic) if you want with the instructions.

I was trying to upgrade to Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed
rom but I couldnt. Can you please upload any other which will help me to save my alpine if possible....and I can try PUGs rom thnks so much

i got a XDA 2 I otherwise known as ,PH10A its not turning on so i cant install rom on phone.taken cmos battery out stil no joy,,please can anyone help me out i put it in the crradle and it does charge up.and on the screen it says USB V 1.02 and thats all and wont do nothing else ..pc wont reconise the phone..i badly need help anyone got any ideas ..
The bootloader message USB V 1.02 does mean that it is in healthy bootloader mode and that it does find a healthy USB connection as well. Activesync will not be able to communicate with it the way it would do if Windows Mobile would have been loaded on your XDA. But the normal ROM flash utilities should be able to access it. Be sure to use ActiveSync version 4.5 to flash WM6, be sure to use a PC running Windows XP, not Vista, be sure to read flashing instructions very carefully, print them and keep them handy during the flashing process. Flashing can take over 30 minutes, be patient!

Hi Maggie. Phone Is In The Cradle I Got Active Sync 4.5 And Running It On Xp.it Dosnt Detect The Phone At All.on The Phones Screeen Its Says Usb V1.02 As Iv Mentioned Befor.cant Seem To Flash The Phone ..but It Does Charge Up In The Cradle.but Nothing Else Can U Suggest Anything Else ....thanx

They come with the HimaUpgradeNoID utility to flash the ROM, it's built into the Tofclock .exe

I can not synch my tytn2 kaiser to my pc ...I when connect the ppc to pc by the cable ...the pc ask me to install drivers ....& I have no drivers!!!!
I have no problems to synch by blue tooth....

I found 4 folders :blue tooth ,RNDIS,serials,WPD.
& a lot of subfolders inside these folders ....& I can not known which one is the drivers for the kaiser. . ....

Well I just used the CDROM that came in the box with my TyTN II before even thinking about connecting the phone so if you've tried all this then the USB ports on the PC must be faulty, unable to cope with advanced networking functionality, or disabled.
realy I lost the CD you are talking about it . . ... !!
but without using this CD ,there was no problems of cable connection until I upgraded the ROM "nothrill" . . ...then after that I can not do any cable connection . . ...????
I would like to ask if I can upgrade the ROM another time by blue tooth sync . . .????

Really Of course you can get Activesync/WMDC from Microsofts website (read the xda wiki if this means nothing to you), but the Kaiser customisations only come with the HTC CDROM.

The plot thickens . In accordance with forum rules then, you should post in the forum related to that "nothrill" ROM that you've installed. This problem doesn't occur with my correctly installed HTC official ROM.

No but even if it was possible, would it be wise to try yet another ROM given whats happened with this one? Aren't you more interested in putting it back how it was and reverting, rather than 'upgrading' again? This gives a new definition to the term 'upgrading'.... Time for you to do some wiki reading to see what options are avail.
Hi, i've just got a new Xperia X1, a new one but for reasons beyond my control i got no CD whatsoever with it. I will like to have a new ROM of course and all that good stuff i have seen here but now comes the thing i need help with:
what software do i need to run on my PC to connect it to Xperia for upgrade, flashing etc, and where i can get this software from, or even the whole Xperia CD to download? I run Win7 64bit Ultimate Edition on my PC.

P.S. I promiss to post here a "how to" for making your xperia auto-rotate exacly like the devices that use an accelerometer for that. Just need a bit of time for pictures, write-ups etc.It will be the "poor man's" method though, but very effective.
if you would like to make a official upgrade, than you need SonyEricsson Update Service (you can find it on SE's site)
for cooked roms, first make a Hard-SPL, than flash a custom rom (read stickies above)
if you flash with pc, you will need windows mobile device center (not needed with micro-sd method)

Windows Mobile Device Center for Windows 7 PC is also needed to establish an Active Sync connection. Available at microsoft.com
