X1 ROM Upgrade Failure

Hi All,
I've just attempted to upgrade my X1's ROM via the Upgrade Service tool downloaded from the Sony Ericsson Website. Unfortunately, it froze at 69%. Neither trying to restart the device nor re-installing the ROM seemed to work. Which I got to the multi-colored screen it jus spelled "Upgrade ROM code error". I attemped using MTTY to reboot the device, but it seemed to be stuck at the Sony Ericsson Logo screen and not moving there after.
Was wondering if any of you have experience this before and would be exceedingly delighted to hear any advices on how I could fix this. thanks

I don't think 'chongchian' has the X1 hardspl, otherwise it wouldn't work on SE upgrade service...
Better wait if someone else has any better ideas

I think there is no need for hardspl if you are updating via the SE update service. Suggestion of skycamefalling is the best possible solution, using the micro-sd card.

This is incorrect information...I have mine hardspl'd and seus updates it fine...I would try re-running the seus update program..as long as its in bootloader it should work and attempt to reflash the device.

SEUS wouldn't let me update it after I HARD SPL flashed it.

Then something else is wrong...lol

Please help me, I am almost hopeless now
I had my X1 with Dutch ROM, so I had it Hard-SPL, and it confirmed 0.72.Oli.Nex
After that, I tried to flash a new English ROM on my PC, but it fall at 10% (ROM Code error).
I had to use MTTY to boot it, so that problem was solved, but the WinCE OS seemed to be destroyed during the process, so when I turned on the phone, it always stuck at the SonyE Bootscreen.
And then, I bought a microSD and formatted it with FAT32, download a ROM,extract it to .img file, change the name and filetype to Kovsimg.nbh, copy the ROM to microSD, flash it, but it said No Image Found
Please, please help me
Please tell me what I have to do now.

hey i dont know if it applies to you but everyone recommends flashing hard spl to orgininal and then flashing the original generic RA3 rom, but i just flashed hard spl and firstly i went to the sony ericsson pc suit, run a phone repair and then hard spl the phone, i then turned on the phone and amazingly it was back to the default as i had previously flashed owm 6.5 valkry. so i dnno if it would work for you try this method before ur start flashing generic uk roms

The same as flash other ROM. Just download WinMo 6.1 from the database (on this forum) and do it.
It's easy.
If you want to re-install your X1 because of errors after usage, just Hard Reset it (Push Soft-reset + 02 steel button on the front at the same time, then open the qwerty keyboard and press R... then Space-bar)

why install? just do a hard reset, on my Xperia i got ClearSoftware shortcut in settings, or do through hidden button under back cover, and if u wonna go back after custom rom - thats different- look above- thats same as installing custom rom, which you would of done already and ifyou didnt - then all you need is hard reset - it will install cean original stock that you have hidden in your ROM memory

1) when ever if i rec. call from new no.and if i want to save that number than my xperia x1 is not able to save new container and it's showing ( a problem has occurred with cprog.exe)
so please help me for this,
2) when ever if i want to upgrade my mobile in starting it's showing that 3 rainbow stripe and after that it's hang and nothing happen anything, than again i need to remove battery and than restart normallly, so tell me how to solve this prob.

New xperia owner need help please

Hi, i've just got a new Xperia X1, a new one but for reasons beyond my control i got no CD whatsoever with it. I will like to have a new ROM of course and all that good stuff i have seen here but now comes the thing i need help with:
what software do i need to run on my PC to connect it to Xperia for upgrade, flashing etc, and where i can get this software from, or even the whole Xperia CD to download? I run Win7 64bit Ultimate Edition on my PC.

P.S. I promiss to post here a "how to" for making your xperia auto-rotate exacly like the devices that use an accelerometer for that. Just need a bit of time for pictures, write-ups etc.It will be the "poor man's" method though, but very effective.

if you would like to make a official upgrade, than you need SonyEricsson Update Service (you can find it on SE's site)
for cooked roms, first make a Hard-SPL, than flash a custom rom (read stickies above)
if you flash with pc, you will need windows mobile device center (not needed with micro-sd method)

correct, you already have hard-spl

Windows Mobile Device Center for Windows 7 PC is also needed to establish an Active Sync connection. Available at microsoft.com

sony ericson xperia x8 flashing and usb to pc conenct problem

hello everyone! well i am new here and i ask for some usefull information please
well i have a x8 now and i really don't like it's software . so i decided to install a "froyopro v1.1". well the main problem is that i can't connect it to my pc to see the main contents of it. when i try to connect it my pc shows a message " the device maybe be damaged or usb is not connected,reinstall ... " nor does sont ericson program recognises it..
i need someone to make me a list of the steps needed to install a custom rom on the x8 and maybe a solution for this problem
p.s:i used to have an htc td2

Definitely you are at the right place! Kirimada provide you awesome link, try to use it for your purpose! BUT DON`T FORGET to search around on this forum manually as you will find all information you need about the problems that you will have to solve while you are tweaking your x8! You will probably stack on some stair so come back here any time to search for the solution of the unexpected problem! There are many custom rom`s as well, don`t forget to put an eye on all of em ....
