I tried SuperOneClick (2.3.4) without succes. How do you root yours?
Kind regards, Lasse
Ok well to root you'll need to either unlock the bootloader or passimg back to frg33. If you passimg back then you can root with superoneclick if you unlock the bootloader then ask me and I will give you some instructions on how to do it.
1. Unlock the bootloader.
2. Flash custom recovery.
3. Flash su or a rooted rom.
If you can't or don't want to do this sell your phone. You should not have a dev/GED period.
not working on 2.3.4. why not flashing a rooted rom? not difficult.

Well it's cause if you want to flash a rooted ROM you'll need to have root access and if he had root access he would not need superoneclick.
I bought my milestone locked to operator and I unlock this phone by coding and now i have my milestone unlocked running android Eclair 2.1 . Iwant to update to android 2.2 by Motorola update software tools.
Question???
flashing to new ROM by Motorola update software con lock my milestone again or no????
Please help.
Very Thanks for helping.
Flash to vulnerable recovery and then an open recovery

maybe the official motorola tools would lock your device. im not sure. but you can download an official 2.2 sbf and flash that one via RSDlite.
I think Motorola will not lock your Milestone again. Because your phone was locked by the carrier, not the factory. By the way, how did you unlock your phone? If by the unlock code, where did you get it and how much for ?
I got it in mercadolibre.com.ve and pay 30 $.
My milestone use the update helper can`t find the phone`s IMEI
I must use RSD to flash it
I never use to update my milestone with Motorola updater because it's possible to lock my phone.
if you get anything wrong at fastboot or any strange message, just keep calm.
have you tried this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339816
if worked, that's good!
for me, no. ))))))): and for those ones there doesn't too, have a try:
download this: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umt...SLU-39M-110926-release-keys-Brasil-BR.xml.zip
*don't matter if are in pt-br. worked for me, than you can flash anything now.
did you flash over 2.3.4/5.6.890, or 2.3.4/5.7.906?
is AP Fastboot Flash Mode version
0A.64 or 0A.53? or did it change to something else?

I'd like to point out that the brasil retail is for xt860 and .890 and .906 are for the XT862. Giovannipaquier likely has an xt860. My bell xt860 has 0A.40 AP Fastboot mode.
Giovannipaquier, just because you flashed a .906 based rom doesn't mean you are running the 906 firmware. Its just 906 /system the rest of the firmware is the brasil retail. This would just be the system.img portion of the sbf zip. I would be wary of flashing sbfs for the wrong device. AFAIK you can flash any xt860 on your xt860 but be careful of the Asian ones, as I recall a user having a hard time switching back, but not xt862 sbfs. I've used several of the central American sbfs on my Canadian device

so i'll explain everything.
i was at stock, and using this file at rsd: "Flash+Verizon+DROID+3+OTA+5.6.890+to+phone_psouza4", using "milestone3bootstrap". i've flashed eclipse and a modded version by teamhaters of .906. all of them works fine.

what u say is just to the sbfs? not for roms? or both?
i was rooted and bootloader unlocked w/custom cwm recovery, then i installed mexico retail Rom. Did i lose all that stuff?
No.
You still have the unlocked bootloader.
You'll be fine as long as you don't flash something that isn't for your device...
what about the root and cmw
Cwm will still be there also. The only thing you might lose is root. And to re root is very easy.

Thanks guys for your help, I thought myth tool is the one to use for root?
I've never used it. Just fastboot, cwm, and rsdlite.
Sent from my MB886 using xda premium
Myth tool Is the newest not the original. It has the original inside of it though. But when you have Cwm you can just flash a superuser zip for root. Really easy.

thank, just used myth tool so easy
Greetings all,
I'm finally fed up and thinking of installing a custom ROM for my Moto X. My question is that will I be able to flash stock 4.4.4 after installing NX or CM12 Lollipop ROMs or be able to accept the OTA in the future? Will downgrading brick my device?
Sent from my Moto X using XDA Free mobile app
The downgrade is a risk, but with some patience it is done easily. First of all you need to unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery and flash the CM11 first, because you're on stock then you flash the CM12. Now about the downgrade, you can flash the original recovery again, lock the bootloader and install the official package directly by the sotck recovery or by fastboot using the RSD Lite, if you do this remember to install all fastboot, adb and motorola drivers.
I hope it is a help for you.
Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll stick with 4.4.4 for now since it is quite stable and it's not easy to downgrade. I have an unlocked bootloader btw.
