yes you can, but it would be better if you flash I9001XXKPS, its 2.3.6 and supported for most mods
here is the link for all stock roms: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346245

You can't restore stock ROM using kies.. ODIN is the only way to restore stock ROM. Look for your original baseband first and there are a lot of guides here on how to do it.

Hi guys this is my second day with my second hand N7000
is is now on gingerbread and I want to update it to Jelly Bean.
I read how to do it with odin and download neccesary file (LAZ 808 MB)
This is my note info: Version. 2.3.6, Baseband N7000UBKL1, kernel 2.6.35.7- gb4846d2 compilation gingerbread vckl1
My concern is if I can go directly to gongerbread or need to do something first..
PD My Note is rooted
Thanks
you can go directly to JB from GB . Flash rom using Odin. you can boot into recovery and wipe data if you want but not necessary
Thanks.
I understand this procedure wont affect any unlock or something ritgh
Sorry to ask U again but are U shure that It can be done TO MY DEVICE without problems

Unlock? You mean Sim Unlock. Not really sure but there have been cases where the phone locked again when it was upgraded. If its not a carrier locked version then there wont be any issues.
That is what I mean. My device is unlock. Anyway i will try
Thanks

Ive downloaded Jellly bean and I only get one file: KIES_HOME_N7000XXLSZ_N7000OXALSZ_906407_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5 that I understand I should use in ODIN PDA.
But in some places I read that ther is Phone and CSC Files.
Should I install only this 808 BM file I mentiones above??
Thanks
If there is only one file use it in Pda. That's all you need.
Can U confirm me if this is the last version.
Is preferable to install using odin or should I leave Kies this task

Ok I updated first with Kies to 4.0.4 Baseband: M7000BLR1 Kernel 3.0.15 N7000BLR3 Compilation IMM76D.UBLR
And now when Im trying to install jelly bean with odin I get FAIL (did it twice)
This device is unlocked. I is from an uruguayan operator named movistar. Could this has something to do with this failure
Thanks
Where does the odin fail? Did you put the phone in download mode. Try with kies if you have JB too
Kies gave me no update now
I entered into download mode (USB debugging on)
i can see n7000 in IDCOM but it fails in the very first step of conection
Im downloading now: N7000UBLSF_N7000DORLS5_DOR.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Is there any specific requirement to flash JB
Thanks

Before using odin, you need to kill all kies processes. Else it will not work. Open task manager and end kies processes.

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S that was in version 2.2. I tried to update it in different ways to a stock version of Gingerbread without success. When I update through ODIN fails to start, stays on bootloop until I return to flash to 2.2.1 version and starts correctly. I've tried a lot of different stock versions 2.3.3, 2.3.6 .... withoud success. This device is free operator.
Does anyone know it has happened or may happen??
Now It's working whit this version:
PDA: I9000XWJSD
PHONE: I9000XXJPY
CSC: I9000OXXJS6
Build Info: 2011.05
BASEBAND: I9000XXJPY
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build number: FROYO.XWJSD
Thanks
if it is not a problem and you are confidnt you know what you are doing
please test [ROOTED / 3FILE] XWJWB#_XEEJW2_XWJW1 by stock+

Go to this site " sammobile.c o m/firmwares " and in the search field tipe gt-i9000. Download the rom of your choice. You have to register by e-mail first. I think that the German rom is the best. I tried about 5 or 6 different roms. Flash and then if you have a problem with rooting we are here.

As for installing ROMs onto your device, that's easy. Custom ROMs is harder because most likely there are no custom ROMs for your device, and lastly that is not a error, when you root a Samsung device, it makes it so you can't update it on stock firmware so it won't mess the phone up if something goes wrong.

no you are not able to install another phones custom rom, it would brick your device. there are special moments where two phones are very similar so they are able to flash each others rom but with your phone i dont see a brother. as for the error you would just need to unroot since you are rooted on stock you would have to look that up. but i see that your phone is still at android 4.0 there is no updates right now.

well if its offical one it probably patched root. you might not have root now and if there is no root method for that version then you would have to downgrade witch i doubt there is one. otherwise you are stuck now.

You're Welcome...
GT-S6012 Booot loop..
Hi. I got a Samsung GT-S6012 that keeps rebooting the Samsung logo and doesn't start. At first I got the phone stuck on the very first logo with Samsung model name. So I did some search. Downloaded Odin and latest 4.1.2 official firmware for that phone model flashed it. Everything worked for a few days but then the battery ran out and phone shut down and when I turned it on again it got stuck on the very first logo and nothing. Then I flashed the same firmware again to get it running and when I checked it the flashing didn't really fully wiped the internal memory cause the data in it was still in tact. So I thought I need full wipe to fix the phone. So installed custom recovery, rooted it and flashed CM 10.1 on it. It was running very smooth everything seemed okay but I wanted the stock rom. So I went to recovery wiped whatever was possible and flashed the stock firmware in download mode again. And now I got stuck on the second Samsung logo and it keeps rebooting it self. I recognize that I cannot wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache in now stock recovery cause it gives me android logo within it a red flag. The wipe cache supposed to fix boot loop problem but it's not an option for me anymore. All I can do now is just enter Download mode. I'm downloading 4.0.4 firmware and gonna try to flash that one see if it works but I doubt. Can anyone suggest me a way to fix it? Please I'm really desperate.
I tried searching for related threads but I was not able to find any !!!
Last year I upgraded my phone to Light JB but then for some reason I downgraded it back to GB using Odin. Now when i tried to use custom rom the recovery mode does not have any option to install from zip
help please.

For custom ROM you must install only GB based ROM so you have only JetMOD and you must root your phone if i remember right.
Root stock GB
In other words you must read carefully some tutorials and guides from general forum if you want to not break your phone.
