I installed it again, then i rebooted it and now i'm stuck on the sony ericcson white screen. what did i do wrong?
before that i proceeded to install xrecovery and busybox.
any luck or hints?
Restore/Repair with SE Companion, I experience that too, after few reboots with GX V22, that rom will eat your battery.
this is my second time, restore/repairing. is there anything im doing wrong?

Tell us the exact steps you perform and how? If you assume you're doing something wrong then you should at least tell us what you do so we can tell if there's something wrong.
I instaled busy box, srecovery, successfully install and used gingerdx. I change my user settings, dl/set up the apps, I even updated to the baseband 15. On the first restart, it will then freeze at SE logo screen

I take you typoed and meant "xRecovery" ...
Well, right there's your problem, mate.
GINGER DX V014 AND LATER NEED TO BE FLASHED THROUGH CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY!
If you flashed GDX v022 through xRecovery it's no real wonder it doesn't work.
EDIT: To quote doixanh's post ...
Requirements
- Rooted
- ClockworkMod Recovery (v014+)
- Latest kernel and latest baseband xxx015
- Desire to delete Stock SE's Eclair

wat rom u installed?
neways use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011071
It seems the best choice is using pc companion for x8 to restore the eclair (for beginner).
Or using flashtool if u know how to use it.

MiniCm7 by nobodyatall? To install this ROMs you need to install the aNa Kernel first! To install this Kernel, you need to unlock the bootloader first! Read the instructions carefully next time!
Flash back to stock ROMs either using flashtool or PCC!
@21st century Apes............Mee tooo went through exactly the same problem...
but i manage to bring back my x8 to normal...using flashtool...
u can give it a try it will 100% work

Hi,
I just recently unlocked my bootloader and attempted to flash the nAa-ics-004 kernal on my X8.
After booting into ClockworkMod Recovery I wiped and flashed MiniCm9 3.0.3.
Now when I boot, I get stuck on the "nAa" screen and the logo keeps repeating itself but I can still press back to get into recovery.
So how can I boot into minicm9 now?
Ummmm.... help would be nice.
EDIT: I'm a noob, I unlocked with X8Toolbox, flashed with flashtool but flashtool only said "loader.sin is flashing" or whatever it says, should it say both? I did select both loader.sin and kernal.sin using SHIFT.

okay
1. first check your baseband is xxx015 (if not, you can find the baseband from B.jay folder and flash it!)
2. Root your phone
- with flash tool by clicking the padlock icon
OR
- copy these files (password=cintaindonesia) and extract on your SDcard, copy paste to system\bin with rootexplorer
4. then unlock bootloader by s1tool or flashtool (NOT FOR 11w29+ !!!)
5. flash the latest ICS kernel
6. backup
7. factory reset, wipe data, etc
8. flash the ROM
9. Done!
Thanks!
Thanks alot guys for your help! I now got MiniCM9 working! Thanks once again.

Hello, im helping a friend root he's phone.
He is stuck at the "Sony Ericson screen"
This is what we have done so far:
- install superuser/bussybox
- Custom recovery (CWM)
He then went into CWM and clicked:
- backup nandroid
- delete dalvik cache
- reset factory
- install zip from sdcard: Presto ... install it...... . .. . .
- Restart phone.
it gave me an error "bad restore can't restart" then It automaticly jumped to another submenu "no" "-yes -- restore CWN" underneath a warning: may not able to access the restore" I clicked yes and it restarted but never got further then booting

I dont have this phone, so I didnt know you needed to have custom kernel and unlocked baseband.
How can I get the:
1. Latest baseband
2. Unlocked bootloader
to unlock the bootloader you have to check This
for latest baseband update the phone with Update Service

you can find in one of the Development Thread, you have to flash it first with flashtool then you can flash the ROM via CWM..
U means u didn't install X recovery.... If u install cwm its possible u having this problem... Cwm only work on stock rom.... Use flash tool and repair.. Install X recovery....i installed it too.. I got the same before, though it was on that Site.. This will work on stock rom

I meant on Stock kernel
I've searched through XDA (manually and with search function) but can't find the answer I need, so am trying here hoping someone will help.
I was running GingerDX v29 on my X8, happily, when I was notified of an update to v030. I left it a few days and then got the notification of an update to v031b. There was two options on the screen: Download GingerDX v031b, or download GingerDX stock. I figured since I'm already using GingerDX I should be able to just download the new version rather than the stock.
So I downloaded it to my SD card, rebooted to CWM and choose to install the download. All seemed to go through fine, I got a success message, and was invite to reboot. I rebooted, and I'm now stuck with "Sony Ericsson" across my screen and nothing else. No access to CWM etc.
I guess I have two questions:
1) Can I get back to v29 or finish off the update to v031b, without having to erase everything and redo whatever it was I had to do to get v29 on there in the first place (v29 was the first ROM I installed on my handset)?
2) What should I have done when presented with the options for upgrading? (I'd kinda like to acoid the same mistake in future.)
All help gratefully received, and I'll be liberal with the Thanks button
TIA
in CWM wipe cache and dalvk cache
if phone doesnt boot flash v29 back and create backup
than flash 31b,wipe data/cache and advance restore data from backup created earlier...wipe cache again
good luck
and post questions in Q/A section

Yeah, I think it's stock (I soft-bricked the handset once before, and followed instructions elsewhere on XDA to unbrick it - I think those instructions used a stock kernal)

I think I did (as part of the v029 install (or maybe it was the v030 install - I can't even remember which one of those I was on)), but I can't say for sure. I definitely didn't when I tried to update to v031b. I just ran the .zip and when I got the confirmation of success I rebooted. Haven't got passed the Sony Ericsson logo since.

What would I need to have been running in order to have used the GingerDX v31b? (Sorry - I'm still learning about stock, kernels, ROMs, Alfs, nAa etc, so don't yet understand what they all mean / do / are used for.)
Is there any way I can recover my phone without having to reinstall all my apps etc?

you have unlocked bootloader? if so then flash custom kernel and it will boot fine.
you can use adb to backup your apps or flash back the previous version and backup them.
you might have downloaded the rom that was not for stock kernel.
your phone is soft bricked, can be repaired using sony pc companion.
Look for a thread to repair a soft bricked phone.
