[Q] Question: How to Forward an email to a contacts group - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK guys, I have seen several threads in various handset forums on this but I can't seem to make any of the suggestions work.
As the title suggests I "just" want to forward an email BCC to a group in my contacts.
If I just select forward in the email itself I can get the BCC box up but can't get a group to show up there.
If I go into contacts and select the group I can send them an email ok but it is, of course, blank. I can find no way to attach/insert the contents of the email that I want to send (as in outlook where you can attach another email).
I'm using GMail BTW so I find it hard to believe that two apps by Google cannot integrate well enough to do such a simple job
Does anyone know a way to achieve this?
Or, does it work in the stock Email app or another 3rd party app?

Try K9 mail.it has a button to forward to cc bcc. The default mail program sucks ass...

Just in case you can't find the option as it doesn't appear straight away. Press forward then menu button and then you see"add cc bcc"...

Does K9 mail find groups in To/BCC box?

Thanks bengaz, I'll give it a go.
Although I can forward bcc the email but I can't get it to show a group that I have set up when I start typing the name of the group into into either To or BCC box.
Does K9 mail show up groups when you type the name in the To/BCC box?

Delete email account?

Hi, I would like to know how can I delete an email account?
In messenging, go Menu > Tools > Options, bring out the keyboard, select the mail account you want to delete with the down arrow key, tap and hold the mail account, then Delete.
Thanks, it works just fine...
And what do I do when the delete option is grayed out?

I too had a similar problem where in i had restored the email accounts and emails from my previous PIM backup but those accounts were not connecting anymore. so i had to create another email account and name it as Gmail1 (as Gmail already exists that came from the backup file) and was not able to delete the old email accounts. This little cool app really helped me and saved a hard reset.
A marvelous tool ! A must have !
Fabulous lil tool. I spent over an hour trying to delete a gmail account. This lil baby took it out in 10 seconds.
Great tool. Took care of my Hotmail account.

Major Issue sending e-mails with attachments

I am having the oddest issue that appears to only be affecting my work e-mail account set us as "Corporate Sync" using our Exchange server. For whatever reason, I cannot send or even forward e-mails that have attachments in them. Whenever I send it, it goes straight to the outbox and no matter how much I refresh it doesn't go through and just stays stuck in my outbox and keeps telling me it failed to send it.
I already removed and added the account several times and played around with different options. I even went as far as getting the "Enhanced Email" app and it does the same thing. No other account (like my Yahoo mail accounts or Gmail) are affected by this and it was working perfectly fine prior to switching from my ThunderBolt on September 8th.
Any help would greatly be appreciated, I need this resolved ASAP as this is affecting my work and neither Verizon nor Motorola know how to fix this.
If your download attachments over wifi is not selected then it is a setting on your company Exchange server. Tell them to set the Active Sync Policy to ignore client certificates under Active Sync Policy > Authentication.

Does it make sense that it would work on my ThunderBolt though?
Quite frankly, messaging is all fu8k3d up on the bionic right now. I wouldn't put it past that it is just ****y code.

In Exchange Management Console, go to Server Configuration > Client Access > Exchange ActiveSync tab.
Double click Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync Properties. Go to Authentication tab, and make sure Basic authentication is checked (mine already was) and check "Ignore client certificates" (default is set to Accept).

Wifi doesn't fix it but I just checked one app called Touchdown for Android 2.x and it works fine. Apparently it's a pure full supported Exchange app. I really don't like it however and would like to avoid using it. If anyone with similar issues can figure it out (even if you're on another device) it would be great.
I have read a few things about the certificate but wouldn't that affect all communication to the Exchange server and not just e-mails with attachments? If not, then why is Touchdown working fine?

[Q] LG 4X HD Exchange account

Hello folks,
Just bought this phone, and before this one I had Desire S.
So I have set up my company account for Exchange Mail, and I have one issue.
No matter if I have set to sync my accounts or not, I recieve emails on my Excahne account whenever I am online, WiFi or 3g. I have set sync to off, for everything, and I still recieve emails on Exchange. But no for Gmail app, for example. Its like, Exchange syncs itself no matter what.
When I go in the settings/accounts&sync and then under Microsoft Exchange, I see only checkboxes for Calendar and Contacts, but not for Mail. This was no case on HTC, I could choose what to sync and when to sync.
Also, there is no option to set low and peak time, for checking mail, for example, to choose to push my email from 8am to 4pm and then to check my email on every hour from 4pm until 8am, also to choose days of the week.
HTC have this option, so does SGS3, even Symbian Nokia.
Am I missing something? Can someone help?
I have root and I am on v10h.
Thanx
Are you using the LG Exchange client?
Yes, I am.
Under Sync settings it should have something that says LG Sync, and under it should be Exchange.. you go in there and you got no mail sync properties?

Maybe screenshot might help me more understand what you are seeing / not seeing

OK
So on the first image, you can se that my sinc is off, but my Exchange is still syncing every time I am online , and that is not the case with my Skype and Google account. They sync onlye when I am online AND I have sync ON.
And, when I go under Exchange, I can only select Contacts and Calendar, but not Mail.
Thx
IF I were you, I would remove settings and try sync again.. maybe you hit a bug? idk.

[Q] Facebook Contacts Still Showing in Contacts, Unable to Hide

Hi, I have the T-Mobile Samsung S6 and I synced my Facebook Contacts. I realized the stock Contacts App displays all my contacts, so I selected Customized List under Contacts to Display and unchecked Facebook ALL Contacts. However, even after doing this my Facebook contacts STILL show in the list. Has anyone been successful in keeping Facebook Sync on but NOT having them display under Contacts?
Really? No one else?

I'm betting you have sync contacts checked within the actual facebook app. Go to the facebook app...then go to app settings....scroll all the way to the bottom.....is sync contacts on?

Yes that is correct. I have it set on "Sync with Existing Contacts". Problem is, instead of syncing with existing contacts, it syncs all of my Facebook contacts and shows it in the Contact phone book, regardless if they were an existing contact or not.

You might want to try out Haxsync from the Playstore. Reviews are good...might be worth the $1.00.
EDIT: I just checked out the app in the playstore....I might be wrong. It hasnt been updated since 2013 lol

lol ok well seems like there isn't a quick solution to this.. .probably something with Samsung or Facebook's side. Thanks for the research though! I recall using Haxsync many years ago as well. It kinda solved some issues with syncing, though not perfect. I doubt any phone really needs it now lol, given no update since 2013

My OP3T is also sync with my office exchange for emails, contacts & calendars. When you want to call or send email, if you begin to type the contact name a live search is made on the exchange directory.

Thanks for your answer. May I know which email client are you using please?
I am using Gmail to sync with my exchange server and it seems to only search for my 500 contacts but not the exchange directory.
As for calls , do you mean once you key in the 1st few numbers it will begin to search for those in the exchange directory as well? Doesn't seems like mine is doing it though.

I also use Gmail email client with Exchange. Your personal contacts and suggested contacts address book are localy sync on your phone.
GAL sync is a contact provider, so the search work in all apps with the contact capability. GAL contacts are search online.
I am the Exchange sysadmin of my office and I already seen some issues like this. Exchange can handle a limited number of activesync devices (10 AFAIR).
Ask you Exchange sysadmin to clean your devices pairing, delete your Exchange account on your phone and add it again.
Hope that help.

Ho I forgot it. You can clean your devices yourself.
In a web browser, open your exchange account in Outlook Web App (exchange webmail UI) of your organization.
On the top/right open "Options" menu, and click "see all options". it will bring you in ECP (exchange control panel).
On the left you have a phone item, select one by one devices and the black cross (delete).
