Have data connection but cannot make calls or send texts! - Motorola Droid Bionic

Phone was working good then I has this issue.
Last night I flashed the phone out of the box stock hoping to bring back my calls and texts but it did nothing.
Ive done factory resets and taken out the SIM card and just about everything else I can think of.
Does anyone have suggestions?

What did you flash too and did it say it succeded or did it fail?

Flashed the "out of box" .886 then did an OTA update to get to .893
It said succeeded after the flash.
Ive also tried a hard reset and still nothing.
I can youtube and email all day long but I cannot call or text. Its driving me nuts.
Keep in mind that it was working fine and just stopped the other day and thats what drove me to an "out of the box" flash hoping to fix it.

Also wanted to add that im unrooted now that I updated to .893
No biggie considering that I was trying to unroot in the first place just in case it is the phone having issues and I can get a new one under warranty.

If you RSDlite the FULL fxz file package (not minimal) and did a factory data reset, and that didn't work I would try once more then take it in and tell them there's no voice or text.

Yup. RSDlite with the FULL FXZ file pack WITH a factory reset and I got everything working but voice calls and texts. I can do anything else though on 3g or 4g.
Ill try once more tonight and then its off to VZW to see what BS they spout this time.

I would be on the phone with support and have my new phone tomorro,

I have a new one coming tomorrow lol
VZW said it was done.

New phone was fine for a little but now with the new phone I can make calls and text but now I cannot see emails/youtube/marketplace. Things like that.
They all keep timing out.
WTF! I love the Bionic but im going to VZW and see if I cant trade it in for something. No phone should have this many issues.

[Q] Picture messageing problem. Chromatic 4.4 on g1

I got a picture message from a friend today. I go to download it, i left it for 5 mintues and nothing. 74kb file. Does anyone else have this problem? is there a fix for it?
A little more info would be nice, like Carrier, also if your apn settings are correct for your carrier etc... HAve you tried a wipe? have you tried reflashing the rom?
Ive had problems with some roms that were easily corrected by reflasing.
Sorry.
Tmobile google g1 um I would haven no clue about the apn settings. Sorry noob at this.
I will try reflashing the rom. I was trying to avoid that in fear that I would loose the text message.
If you're a noob, use CyanogenMod, not some mixed rom.
So i went to cyromod 6 today. And its the same thing. BUT I can receive pictures from other people. Just not my gf's phone. I'll get more info about her phone in the morning.
do you get normal messages from her? maybe you have her blacklisted? it sounds like a carrier or apn problem maybe...
Actually i figured it out. Alot of late night google. If i have wireless turned on I can not send or receive mms messages. But if I turn it off, and with out a data plan I can send and receive them.
Only thing I noticed. A picture she sent me last night, fails to download now that i figured this out. But just might be that it was sent while wireless was on.
Maybe theres another fix around this. But thats what I figured out.

[Q] SMS Issue - Not Recieving Text Messages

Hey all. I am on FroyoMOD 2.7 and yesterday my phone stopped receiving SMS messages. I can send them fine, as my friends all tell me they can get my texts, but I receive no replies.
Now, of course I considered that I may just not be popular , but after I attempted to send SMS to myself, I confirmed that I do not receive them. I use Handcent SMS as my texting app. The send reports generated by my carrier indicate that the status of the message being received is pending.
Now, I wiped caches, reapplied FroyoMOD 2.7, reapplied Sileshn's Honeycomb theme, reapplied Telus baseband from AOR 3.3, and again wiped caches. Still stuck without receiving SMS. MMS works fine, as I can send picture messages to myself.
Any suggestions/ideas? I really, really need to you know, text! Being 16 has its drawbacks . Thanks in advance.
Braidonh
I have the same problem but the other way around! I can receive them but I can't send them, and it started while using froyo mod too (I'm not blaming froyo mod for this, as in the problem started a few days after using it) I was using go sms to manage my sms's and suddenly it started giving me the ol'message not sent notification, also my Milestone started to refuse to connect to the computer via usb, so I used those two problems as an excuse to switch to oh no! cm7 mod and those two problems were still there! the strangest thing is that my milestone charges just fine and I'm even able to connect to the PC via USB thru Androiani open recovery's option "force usb connection" or something like that so it seems not to be hardware related, weird! I have tried wiping EVERYTHING several times and still the same issue! I even went as far as to reflash got 2.2.1 again since it is the base rom over which others mods are applied it might have gotten corrupted or something, and then I reapplied Oh No cm7 mod, but no luck... simply weird. >(
After a quick call to TELUS support, it was determined that it is some kind of "known issue" within Milestones specifically. The troubleshooter told me to wait a few days while the error log was sent to network engineers. At this I began to panic, and worried about certain... software details being given to people of importance. Basically I wanted to keep my warranty . So I told the Rep I was running custom software and he laughed and told me just to wipe from AOR not from standard recovery. I had tried data wiping from stock recovery with no luck, but it worked with AOR. No idea why. I didn't think it would be any different. But there you go. That's the technology world I suppose. Hope that helps!

when you say "it worked" you mean that you wiped thru aor and the messaging issue got fixed, or that you got to do a full wipe thru AOR in order to keep your warranty?
Wiping data through AOR resolved my issue. It seems the rep I talked to was very sympathetic to modding. He seemed very knowledgeable anyways.

Not receiving phone calls.

I haven't been receiving phone calls for over a week now. The only notable thing around-ish the time I stopped receiving them is when I updated my P.A.C. rom. I have since tried a different rom, and even returned the phone to stock Sprint RUU but nothing has worked. I still don't receive calls at all. Texts work fine, data works fine. Any ideas on why calls don't come through?

Not without more info about your phone and what you have done. It could be anything from a borked radio to no one wanting to talk to you...

Lol. It could be the radio, but then wouldn't I not be able to get texts or make calls? I rooted/unlocked it when it was first released, switched between roms a bit, stuck with PAC for the last month or so. Since about a week ago I haven't received calls. It may have been around-ish the time I updated to the most recent version of PAC. I did dirty installs over the previous versions, but all were 4.3 roms. I've had people call me to be sure, it rings and rings until it goes to voicemail on their end, but nothing happens on my phone. I tried to fix it today. I returned it to stock via the Sprint RUU and re-locked it. No dice. I think re-rooted and did s-off, installed slim bean, still no go. I can make calls just fine. I can get and send texts just fine. My data is working just fine.

I would think that applying RUU would have cleared up the issue. you might try RUU and then back to sprint store and see if they can fix it. other wise check you RUIM/SIM to NV settings.

Cannot send of receive SMS

The problem started only a few days ago when my phone suddenly stopped receiving text messages. At the time, I was running Cyanogenmod 11 on my Sprint HTC One (M7). There were no errors of any sort; any time I would attempt to send a message, the phone would say that the message sent and that was the end of it. Also, any SMS messages that were sent to me would never reach me. The strange part is that I could send and receive phone calls, had data on the Sprint network, Bluetooth worked, WLAN worked, and GPS was working. Basically, everything but SMS would work.
My first guess was that my messaging program wasn't working. However, no matter what I used (I tried Hangouts, AOSP Messenger, and Textra to equal non-effect).
At that point I figured it was an obscure issue with my ROM of choice. I decided to roll back to a previous random Sense ROM that I knew had SMS working in the past. I used TWRP v2.8.0.2 to restore this old snapshot, and I had the same symptoms.
I tried a few different popular ROMs just to see what would happen. Everything worked great except SMS.
I figured that at this point, I should just roll it back to stock. Carefully following an RUU guide, I downloaded stock firmware and the corresponding RUU. Again, everything was in perfectly working order except for SMS messages.
I confirmed that my phone was not actually registering the sent texts by dialing ##UPDATE#. According to the output of the Self Service screen before and after sending some test texts, that number does not increment.
So I'm stumped. I can't figure out what's wrong with my phone, let alone fix it. I've even taken it to the Sprint store to check if there was some obscure account problem. After a restart, they were stumped, too (I was referred to a different store that I will have to visit over the weekend).
Any ideas what I can try next? Thanks in advance.
Have you tried to update profile (and PRL)? It's a shot in the dark, but worth a shot.

I just updated my phone to 4.06.651.9. On my phone, the ##UPDATE# entry causes it to attempt a "hands-free activation" which includes resetting the profile and PRL. In the previous version, this would not run and redirected me to the Self Service screen. After the update, it actually updated the profile/PRL successfully!
This time, when returning to the Self Service screen, I see that two test texts appear to have been sent! However, the people I sent them to have yet to see them (it's been about 5 minutes). A few more test texts have been sent my way, but as before, nothing is arriving.
Is there any way to test if the SMS messages from my phone are actually reaching a Sprint cell tower?
Second Edit: Updated to 5.03.651.3 I just received a text from Sprint (I decided to have them send a username). I have sent some more test texts, but so far nothing else is happening.

Although that should have worked, that's still not the latest RUU available. Try the first link from the OP here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2795856

Ah, yes. I tried that at first but the firmware simply would not flash. Instead, I went to an early version that did flash and then just upgraded from there. Same behavior, so I was convinced that this was a problem on Sprint's end (I assume that an antenna failure would also cripple phone calls?)
I went to the other store as suggested and they directed me to call tech support or drop $75 on a replacement phone. I called the number, I told them the problem and what I did to try and fix it. They flipped some switch and that was it. Took maybe five minutes.

End button, incomming calls, and ability to call eachother break when in Canada (G4)

Here is the gist. We have 2 G4's that right when they cross into Canada, all hell breaks loose!
End Button (dialer) Loses functionality. The only way to end a call is either the other person, or remove battery.
Phones cannot call each other but can call other phones (data does not work either, but texting does)
No incomming calls work at all, however it seems to be trying (not going straight to voicemail, but rather ring 20 times and then busy signal.
Sprint says everything should be good, and unlocked on their end. They even state that the sim cards have "registered" with rodgers. I am at a complete loss. Hours and hours with tech support, reset / factory wipe, etc... Even tried putting in a Rodgers SIM, and still a big fat ZERO. The troubling thing is that once the phones come back to the states, everything works fine. We have had them switch the plan to the canada plus, to the international plan and back, to no avail. Has anyone experienced this problem? Really frustrating to say the least! I could see one being a "bad" phone, but two??? No way. Coincidences like that just don't happen! Oh- yes, latest software update IS installed (the ls991zv5). Build LMY47D Android 5.1 Kernel 3.10.49
Thanks in advance!
Im having the same problem too
I try a hard reset and still nothing
Issue with me, and how to make Data works
This issue is random Sprint LG G4 LS991 to me. 50% phones work perfectly, 50% have issue.
If you want Data works. Download APN zip file, extract, replace, change permission like original file (0644). Go to Dialer, type ##3282#, APN Settings, touch Menu, Reset default. Turn On Mobile Data.
