Calling issues - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Callers can only hear me if I'm on speaker phone or if I speak directly into the mic near the charging port.
This issue appeared out of nowhere, any ideas how to correct this?
TIA

Thanks for the reply, I've had the phone for over a month with relatively few issues.
The phone worked this morning then all of a sudden nobody can hear me unless I put the phone on speaker.
I just did a factory reset but that hasn't solved the issue either.
Very frustrated.

Thwn reflash stock ROM, n still problem remains, you have to submit to samsung centre

I9000 ROMS headset issues...

Sorry, I'm sure this is a dumb question, but i haven't found an answer to it yet. Is there a fix out yet for the wired headset not working for calls on the I9000 ROMS yet?

Yes. The headset is working perfectly. Checkout the ROM threads. It's mentioned on the first page of most of the current ROMs. Also, before someone delete this thread, post your questions in Q&A section of Captivate.

Used designgears Cog then Perception 8 w/xcal fix still no jack love for me. I shall take a look at some of the other ROMs with the fix maybe. "Hands Free" law kicks off Jan 2 in my state. Big push (it is needed too) right now with the state putting up lighted signs all over the place.... Just want to be ready.

With the back plate still on the phone, try pressing on the speaker hard with your thumb.
I had a similar issue and this fixed it for me.
yeah been there done that...but it still goes back out , im sending to samsung AGAIN! hopefully they can get it right this time.

Nexus one - Can't hear anyone on an incoming or out call

I am using nexus one on froyo..
Today suddenly I stopped hearing person at the other end during a call.. Ear piece just wouldn't work.. However I can hear them if I put headphones or put the speaker on..
Please help..

I have the same problem. so irritating.
Are either of your rooted if so then I would suggest fixing permissions and if that doesn't work doing a full wipe and clean install. Not sure if that will help thought I fear your speaker may have died although it surprises me that both of them would die at almost the same time because in all the time I have been an nexus one fan I have only heard of that speaker dying once before.
I have done wipe.. Clean re install.. It doesn't go.. After trying almost everything for two days I have given up.. The phone is back with htc and they are fixing it for $20.. They confirmed it's a hardware issue..

i have only back cover from phone, no additional cover
yeah remove that as well and make a call
If it's not hardware related as nokiamodeln91 is figuring out, try a different modem:

well, which modem should i choose? i have czech phone...
Well I think initially choose a newer one, they've made improvements step by step, hopefully you just had a bad flash. Work it from there.

so i can choose for example XXLR1 and it makes no trouble to me?

Q]Having issues phone not ringing and voice calls

My father has this phone on tmobile... And is having major issues with phone not ringing and he can't hear caller when he answers calls. I run a gnex unlocked rooted running 4.2.1 Carbon rom. Will unlocking and rooting his phone help these issues. Or is this a known hardware issue with phone. Or will he have to get a new one... Thanx for any responses. New to thread live on gnex threads tho. Lol

Well I occasionally have this problem, but really rare. I am on root box 4.1 and the in call volume is outstanding, but still have the occasional problem of the phone not ringing. Could be pressing a button while its in his pocket/case or might just be a big with the phone

It is not a known problem with stock or rooted and custom rom. If the problem exist I suggest taking it back to store for replacement before going in rooting and custom rom as that voids warrentry and highly doubt rooting and custom rom can help it. That sounds like a flaw in hardware not software.

Def thought same thing... Jus figure id ask the thread first.
