Hey I just recently sent my phone in for repair .the rear speaker wasn't working it would go in and out. They said they fixed it and shipped it back. So its been running fine for like 2weeks and now POW! Its out again... so I'm about to call and ***** to Samsung. Just wondering. Is anyone else having problems?

No issues on two phones purchased in August.
Guess I'm sending it in again ...

With the back plate still on the phone, try pressing on the speaker hard with your thumb.
I had a similar issue and this fixed it for me.

Hellow , im sending my phone in due to my speaker, going in and out. I assume I just flash back to stock. But is that, the only thing I need to do? Thanks

Stock, master clear, should be fine do not over estimate the knowledge of the people who work at at&t
at&t guys dont even really check out the firmware and stuffs like that if its just a speaker replacement or something like that. just flash back to stock, master clear, and wait forever to get your phone back.
guess I should have told u that I'm sending to samsung... Does that matter?

when you flash back to stock and do the master clear, you should be good enough.
Thanks for the reply everyone.

well samsung has sent my phone back, it is in transit, they said they replaced the speaker. just thought i would give an update. i should get it wed.
Callers can only hear me if I'm on speaker phone or if I speak directly into the mic near the charging port.
This issue appeared out of nowhere, any ideas how to correct this?
TIA

This is a question, and as such belongs in the Q&A section
Very sily Q, but just confirm, if you device is fresh n have you remove plastic thin cover from microphone.?

Thanks for the reply, I've had the phone for over a month with relatively few issues.
The phone worked this morning then all of a sudden nobody can hear me unless I put the phone on speaker.
I just did a factory reset but that hasn't solved the issue either.
Very frustrated.
Thwn reflash stock ROM, n still problem remains, you have to submit to samsung centre

Oh boy, I'm a total newb when it comes to flashing anything or rooting.
I dont believe I receive any support since I'm in the US
I am just posting that the on board speakers died on my phone. They aren't blown as headphones don't work either. I can only hear anything on a regular phone call as speakerphone doesn't work either. I have restored my one to stock as I am doing a rma on it. Anyone else ever experience this?

Maybe the built in amp died!?

Possibly since it's only amped audio that does not work

Do you have bluetooth speakers? Try that and if it works it's probably the amp imo. If it doesn't it might be your audio driver. Either way your probably going to have to get a replacement or a repair.
Have you called HTC and troubleshooted with them yet?

Yea I contacted AT&T my provider and they are shipping me another one. I had cm10.2 on it when it stopped worked but even returning it to stock had no effect. I just posted here to see if anyone else had experienced this issue.

Not closely similar to this, but I'm about to claim for the SECOND time that the top speaker is junk. The first phone it blew leaving it distorted and fuzzy. This one, all of a sudden overnight it sounds like a crazy vibration coming from the speaker. Kinda hard to explain... But it sounds absolutely terrible. So I'm going to fastboot the RUU and see if that makes a difference. If not its going back for another

Yesterday my phone's volume up stopped working so I googled to see if there was a fix. Some had suggested unticking fast start up and rebooting didn't work tried soft reset didn't work then later it just started working. So tried it again tonight and it's not working again, so does anyone else know if it's software or hardware or any suggestions of what to do thanks.

Think it might be hardware because if you shake it it normally starts working again dreading having to send off for repair been reading about some real horror story's .

How about you try the built in diagnostics: in dialer type *#*#3424#*#* then select "Button Test" and run it.

I guess if it fails the button press, then it's most likely a hardware fault, and not much you can do to fix it
It should still be under warranty so will take it back next week hopefully they can fix it but dreading handing it over incase it comes back in worse shape then when it went.

If anyone reads this from the UK what's the best way to send phone off for warranty repair through shop where i got it from phones4u or HTC UK or HTC international need some advice before it goes on it's journey for repair. Also time frames of how long it normally takes would be nice. Iam hoping they tell me to send it somewhere locally for repair but doubt it very much, had a Nokia years ago wich went to a local place for repair but don't think they do that now.

For around a week now i've had a strange rattle when I press the capacitive keys for example backing out of an app it vibrates but theres a little rattle noise coming from it, it's hard to explain but definitely not normal. Anyone else had this? I've never dropped my phone and take good care of it.
Yep. Had to send my phone in for repair, bad vibro motor. Got it back in 3 weeks, all fixed. Hope yours is quicker than mine was.
