But how do I recover all my data, apps???
Your backed up data should be in your sd card...after you go back to 2.1, you root your phone, install xrecovery and then you can recover your data from there...

Hi. I've Xperia X8 : Rooted, downloaded rom (miniCM7 2.0.7) and all this in CWM.
I tried to install GingerDX but you know GingerDX need xRecovery not CWM so i searched to install xRecovery then I found this apk app( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1128854 ) i installed it and installed xRecovery and everything ok BUT when i rebooted my phone my phone stuck in the Boot screen (Sony Ericsson) and nothing new! HELPP PLEASEthxxxx all
Umm, maybe you can try repairing with PCC or SEUS.
Can you still get to xrecovery?
If yes, you can restore a backup with it.
If not, then flash the stock ROM again with Flashtool/SEUS/PCC
And the next time you want to install GingerDx, install the Dual Mode Recovery, it´s very easy, just search for it.
mmm
Well, i wanted xRecovery, but now im scared i want to find a good tutorial on the forum but i dont know, can someone recommend me one that is good for my xperia x8

its alright. it can be fixed
1st. before you installed a rom you should have done a backup in xrecovery. if you have then boot into xrecovery, go down to backup/restore and choose restore, then choose one of your backups.
if you didnt make a backup or it didnt work then follow instruction 22nd. open up pc companion or your pc or computer/laptop (either one lol) and choose update phone hopefully that should fix it. i dont know if seus is still around.
hope it helped and remeber to press the thanks button if i helped.
my advice is try to ude gingerDX rom (after restore from your backup)
or if your device can boot anymore your can use SEUS
just follow the easy step
make a backup of ur rom before u install a new rom,u can do dat from xrecovery, after u backup ur rom then copy the custom rom to xrecovery/backup then boot into xrecovery and install the new rom
Hi guys, I have a X8 with GingerDX 21 and doixanh linuxkernel 004.
I'm going to sell my Xperia and the new owner wants to go back to my backup of stock eclair 2.1...
Can I restore with CMW? I made it with xrecovery... If not, how can I start the xrecovery instead cmw?
Can I restore the backup with no problems with my bootloader unlocked?
You can recover the stock kernel and stock ROM to the device. There should be links to those around here somewhere.
Also, you can try to install xRecovery again, but i'm not sure if this is possible when CWM is installed already..

NAND backup (made with recovery) only backups ROM, so, yes, you will have to flash stock kernel as well.
-Install stock rom with cwm or xrecovery (phone will bootloop) then
-Flash stock kernel..
There u go...

Now looking for the stock kernel.. I don't find it

You should use the Flashtool link, which flashes the stock ROM & stock kernel at once

Thanks again... I was checking my files in the hard disk and them were there too...
Now crossing my fingers and flashing...
Original Kernel flashed. Any problem! Now everything is a breeze thanks again.
First I've rooted my x8 (15i) successfully, I installedl nAa 13 and installed a Rom. I didn't liked the rom so I flash to my original kernel and version (2.1Update). And I flashed nAa13 again to install Minicm ICS rom but It didn't work for me.. So I flashed again to my original fw.. (I'm a newbie here in flashing so everytime I want to flash a new rom I flash first to my oriniginal fw so I dont know if it's the right way). After I flsahed to my orig fw I've format my sd card (I forgot to unroot my phone.) And now I unroot my phone.. Relocked the bootloader. And root it again but when i root it and connect to usb cable open it on my computer I dont see the system folders (like Android folder) Ive tried everything like using superoneclick, x8 toolbox, flashtool to root and those application said that my device is rooted but I can't see the android folders. What can I do to see it again..? I wish someone could help me. I tried everything but it's not working. (
Try software update/reset using the Sony Ericsson programme on your computer (SEUS) - that should reset it to 'stock'?

haha!
lolz!
if you want to flash new ROM just have rooted phone and unlock phone!
then flash the kernel that is the requirement for the ROM..i.e nAa - MiniCM7 OR alfs - DingerDX
I don't what you mean?
u can't see your folder from your PC or from your phone??
if you want to see from your phone, download and install file manager or root explorer
..
heheh im sorry I'll explain it further. When I root my device and it become rooted (installed superuser) and plug it in my computer i cannot see the SYSTEM FILES OF ANDROID. Like Android Folder, DATA.. That's what i meant but the software (like x8tool, superoneclick, flashtool) says that my device is ALREADY ROOTED. BUT I CANT SEE DATA SYSTEM FOLDERS WHEN I PLUGGED IT IN..
I never see the /system folder on my pc with the phone connected. Why not just use a root browser app on your phone?

hey i've root it again the superuser was installed. And when i plugged it in again in computer and OPEN TO VIEW FILES the folders contains only a FOLDR and 2 xml domcument. I thought when it is ROOTED I can see the Android Folders, DCIM folders, DATA, But why I cant see it. (
Rooting has nothing to do with those folders. Use your phone for a bit and they'll pop up, take a picture etc.

thats correct!
you are rooted.
in stock rom i dont think there is any use for "android" folder as you cant install apps at your sd(i dont remember if i had this folder when i was at stock, but how could i, its been a looong time!), but for "dcim", try to take a pic,as mentioned above!

wait a sec, you use nAa 13 for ICS ROM? shouldn't it be the nAa-ics-04 kernel?
Hey. Im sorry for making another topic but I have problems. As I have managed to back up my game saves I wanted to install FroyoBread on my Xperia X8. I have currently installed GingerDX 30. My question is: Do I have to do any special tricks like downgrading or smthing, or I just put the zip file on my SD card and then install it from Recovery? Also, I have stock kernel and not unlockable bootloader.
didn't you use titanium backup for your apps? Provided the apps are compatible with 2.2, just restore them using titanium backup.

You didnt understand my question. I want to install android 2.2 froyo but I have currently installed adroid 2.3. I want to know how to install that android 2.2 ( Froyobread). Do I have to use PC programs like SEUS to downgrade my phone to 2.1 and then install 2.2 or I directly install 2.2 in recovery.

Thanks for your reply but I have next issue. Im using Clockworkmod recovery and when I want to install zip file, installation soon after is aborted. It tells me to switch to Edify scritping. I dont know whats going on. My recovery is CWM-based recovery v4.0.1.5
Can I use this tool? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=903598
Yes, you can use it. Or simply use xrecovery to install roms what use the old amend scripts.

Ofcourse I have next issue. I installed Froyo in recovery, but installation took only 1 minute. Now my phone is stuck on FroyoBread boot animation. My phone cant get past this boot animation. Animation is looping all the time. What happened?
Edit. After 10 minutes, animation freezed.
K, after few restarts and full wipe it started to work.
