[Q] What kernel for Laszlo Froyo ? - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I'm looking for good kernel for my G1 with Laszlo Froyo. Radio and hbor are in sig.

The kernel it comes with is perfectly fine....
And I can't see your sig on tapatalk, but you need 1.33.0013d and the 2708+ kernel radio

HTC Hero: G1
ROM: FroyobyLaszlo-5.2
RADIO: 2.22.27.08
HBOOT: 1.33.0013d
- But i have problem at all new rom, i after 1hour of using lost signal, and when restart phone, it says "no sim card"

that sounds like it could be a hardware problem. has this ever happened to you on any other roms? also have you tried the quick fix options such as clear data, reflash rom etc.?

Now i have JF 1.5 radio still 2.22.27.08 and HBOOT is 1.33.2005 and about 3hours and still works well, but still its ****ty 1.5 with ****ty 1.5 apps on market.
//on Laszlo rom i still geting "No Signal" about after 3hours using phone, so i flashed Ryree rom and this do same.

:O....that radio and spl is a frightening combo....
Well, hmmmm....try the other 2708+ kernel radio?

yeah very true, i would change that first and maybe things will start working right

When i get no singal, i used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831139 can you recommend me another spl and radio ?

Well that's the only one that works with Froyobylaszlo
And did you flash any kernels on top of froyobylaszlo?
You're not supposed to. It has the kernel in the rom zip.

No. About three days i'm using Donut from JF and everything works well. Now I'm charging phone then I'll try froyobylaszlo

you should still look into changing from 1.33.2005 to the 1.33.00.13d
i have a feeling this is your issue

Sorry but I don't get it. Can you explain it to me, or tell me what hbot I'm supposed to use with froyobylaszlo?

Hboot: 1.33.0013d
search for "2708+ kernel"
flash the spl and radio and recovery from fastboot
then you need to flash the rom.zip and thats it!
Gapps and kernel are in the rom.zip

Fine. What rom can you recommend me ? Now, I am running Froyo by Ryee

Question - Flashing new ROM

I have a Dream that I Rooted and is running CyanogenMod ROM 4.2.14.1 ROM. I used the Apps2SD, so I can't take the sdcard out. Here are some questions that I have.
First, I'm thinking about trying WG-Build Y BFS - Without Ram Hack R1. Before flashing do I need to uninstall apps2d?
Second, Do I need to wipe my phone before flashing a new/different ROM?
Third, does the "memory hack" simply refer to the flashed Death SPL (Haykuro).
Also, has anyone tried KiNgxKxKlair-Hero-Eclair-v0.6 or heard anything about this ROM?
Phone: DREAM PVT 32B
Rom: CyanogenMod ROM 4.2.14.1
Recovery: CM 1.4 (Cyanogen pimped out recovery image)
SPL: 10.95.3000 (Hard SPL)
Radio: 2.22.19.26i

1. The rom already has apps2sd on it. Simply repartition if you want and rewipe and reflash
2. yes, wipe all.
3. this adds 10mb more ram and 3d games run slower
4. You're using an old recovery, I suggest amon ra 1.5.2, also, you should flash the new radio and spl (haykuro)
5. It's a slow rom and is quite buggy

help laggy cyanogenmod flash

I just rooted my phone this afternoon but im new
and still confused about most things.
I rooted my phone by downgrading to 1.5 and
now im running 1.6 with cyanogenmod 4.2.1 but
it doesnt seem to be very fast, its quite slow and
laggy and im wondering why that is.
recovery 1.4 i think.
kernal 2.6.29.6cm42
drc83
dont know what other info might be important.
Some games that didnt lag before lag now like armoured strike online, it can barely start and force closes alot.
also what is a newer version that is built around
android 2.0, is quite fast, looks good and doesnt
need the danger spl.
Im on a unlocked g1 in the uk
I have the same phone.
First of all, I think the phone is outdated. you need to update to cyanogen 5.0.8. BUT!!!!!!!!!!! very important "but" don't forget to flash the radios first OR YOU MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE. There are a couple of ROMs I believe you might find that don't require danger SPL, but you'd only be doing yourself good if you flashed it.
There are plenty of tutorials on xda that you may follow to get this done.
Don't worry, I'm a noob as well and as long as you follow all the steps accurately, you won't hit a hitch. I haven't yet.

Yes, if it says 1.33.2005 (DREA10000) then you have the Danger SPL

[Q] ADP1 Questions

Found a great steal on an ADP, (dude who owns it thinks its a limited edition device. XD ), and I would like to know a few things about it.
I did some digging around and found a 2.2 upgrade mod. Now, I understand that the ADP has root and a custom bootloader installed, so there would be no need for Cyano or z4root, right? Can I just flash up 2.2? What about the "radio", do I need to worry about the "radio" issue messing up with the phone? Can I dual boot a OEM T-Mobile rom alongside the ADP rom? Also, when I go to the location to complete the transaction, how can I verify that it IS a dev phone? (Besides cosmetic looks).
Thanks for all your help, guys. I really appreciate it.
(FYI: I intend to use the phone as a desk dev phone, nothing fancy except a trip out the house for music and application testing.)
You WILL have to worry about Radio-HBOOT compatibility when you are flashing different ROMs. Most new ROMs now require the 2708 Radio port by ezterry, but CM6.1 requires Danger SPL and a different radio. You can tell that it's an ADP1 by putting it in fastboot mode (turn the phone on with the on button and the camera button held down) and checking the HBOOT number (sorry I forgot what HBOOT is specific to the ADP1 but I assume it's the Hard SPL.)
Hope I helped.
*NOTHING* requires deathspl. Search for "custom mtd" and you will understand why.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. So yeah you don't need Danger SPL and it's not really recommended anymore, although the new SPL by ezterry is required by many new roms.
Edit: Danger/Death/Haykuro SPL are all the same SPL

Stuck at g1 screen after 2.3.5 update!!!

Recently i tried to update my ROM to 2.3.5.. i got some verification error first and using clockworkmod recovery i got rid of that error.. now even after successful completion of the installation my phone is stuck at G1 screen.... any idea??
yeah usually that means you dont have required radio/spl for rom... can you still get into recovery mode?
Today weather forecast anounced sunny weather, but it's raining now. Any idea, why?

ok so that means its not briked lo thats good!!! so what rom are you trying to flash? and what radio and spl do you currently have? maybe the rom needs to be signed...
@ldrifta trying to flash cm-7.1.0-RC1-DS-signed and the radio version is 2.22.27.08 and spl is 1.33.0013d !! and inorder for the installation to complete i had to disable the verification..

well as far as i know, if the rom is signed you shouldn't need to disable the verification... but uhhh maybe your sd card...? did you set up swap and ext partitions?
Yep.. swap and ext3 partitions has been set correctly.. But without disabling the verification, the ROM would not get intalled.. some of the other users too came across this verification problem.. and one of the senior member of this forum had asked to disable the verifiation fromk clockworkmod recovery!! Reverting to 2.3.4 doesn't seem to cause any problem and its working like charm.. ..
hmmm im not sure than... if you have correct radio/spl and sd card is set up right than i im not sure why it wont work... try ext4 and just wiping everything on device before flashing..
Where are you getting this Cyanogenmod 7.1 ROM for G1...? There are ones BASED off of CM, like COS-DS... But as far as I know, CM 7 is not available for g1... They stopped support after CM 6. My guess is that the ROM just isn't compatible, so you are stuck at the boot screen. Try using Ginger Yoshi, or COS-DS. Both of those Gingerbread ROMS are pretty great.

Need help flashing roms to G1

I have been trying to flash the CM7 Rom to my G1 and continue to get the same error messages... I tried uploading a pic but the app wouldn't let me, so I will try and get the pic posted asap

what is your radio/spl?
also have you flashed many other roms before?
Please using following combination for Radio and SPL. Also note, flash radio first and then SPL otherwise G1 will not boot. Also make sure you have Clockworkmod recovery for CM7. This recovery helps for smooth flashing for CM7.
update_2.22.28.25_S - Radio
hboot0013d-signed - SPL

OK, this might be sorta a strange question, but this looks to be the best place to ask it.
Will the Dream be bootable if you flash only the Radio and SPL, leaving untouched the stock Android 1.6?
While I am a Linux geek, I am new to android and prefer to take things one step at a time. That explains why I have a Rooted dream with Amon RA with the stock 1.6 backed up with nandroid.

never tried, theoretically it should be as if you did a factory reset and you would just use your recovery to replace anything lost. but if you want to be safe maybe someone who has will chime in.
besides the point go ahead and flash a new rom, even if you stick with 1.6 firmware the developers have come out with much superior roms over the stock android. if you want only 1.6 try super d or super csdi
ok so i decided to test this out, updating a g1 to the 2708+ radio/spl and not flashing a new rom -------- stuck on g1 boot screen, hit call+menu+power then hit home to reboot to recovery, reflashed rom and gapps, rebooted, now everything is good as can be, so to answer your question --- yes it appears you need to flash a rom after you update your radio/spl
