If I start charging the phone when it's turned off, the xRecovery menu appears as soon as I turn it on. Is there a way to fix this? I've searched the forums and I've seen a couple of people mentioning this minor issue, but couldn't find a solution.
The phone is an E15a that went from 2.1.1.A.0.6 (base 15) to FroyoBread v023b and now to GingerDX v019.
I got xRecovery from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878426 and I installed CWM-recovery-4.0.1.5-e15-Amend.zip for upgrading FroyoBread to the latest GingerDX.
It's just a minor annoyance, but I wonder if I there is a way to fix this. The missus freaks out when she gets the strange menu.
Lol, I get the same. Here:
Phone is off.
I connected charger.
Phone turns on to the battery picture.
I hold lock button down.
Then FreeXperia recovery mode opens up.
I just click reboot and its fine.
But I though GingerDx only came installed with CWM and xRecovery.
I never installed FreeXperia recovery mode.
Lol.
Anyway, its weird.

You get this if you have Dual-Mode-recovery,because then any hardware button lets you boot intoe the FXp recovery.
Unfortunately, you cant power your phone off with FXP-recovery, what is a bit annoying, because then you have to boot to CWM to power the phone off, or you boot Android and let the phone charge while it´s on.
I had this problem in stock ROM, but i solved it by following the instructions in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12186828

Yep, that's it. I don't mind getting the "battery picture" when I plug in the charger. What's annoying is that I land in the xRecovery menu when I want to turn my phone on. It's just a minor thing, I just have to select "reboot" from the xRecovery menu, but still...

I got the same problem when I was only on FroyoBread v023b. At that point I had only xRecovery. CWM came much later when I wanted to install GingerDX v019.

dbts25 says it's only for a stock firmware, so I wonder if I can use it on my GingerDX v019.
Since all the newer ROMs need only CWM, is there a way to uninstall xRecovery and keep only the current version of CWM I have?

GingerXperia V13 and V14 still likes to be installed using xrecovery.
Keep xrecovery you'll never know when you need it.

It can be fixed by moving one line in chargemon to another position. If you will compare chargemon from GingerDX and the one I have uploaded you will see difference. Make backup in recovery first, because if something is wrong it will brick your phone, then replace chargemon in /system/bin with this one from archive and don't forget to set permissions. I haven't tested it (I can't install GingerDX now), but it should work.

try full wipe ( u will LOSE all DATA ) then flash GDX v22 & vold-chargmon update 1 by 1... reboot let the ROM load... then go to CWM again and flash the libs... see if it works!

dude is your phone constantly rebooting? or did it happen once or what
little more details please.
Try full wipe OR re-install update.zip
when connecting the USB it'll reboot. I'll try full wiping and check back.
I just restored my phone to stock rom using rom manager.. After rebooting the phone just keeps on blinking like every two seconds with the LG symbol. Is there any solution to fix this ? Please help..
can you get to "recovery mode" ?
pull out battery, does it still do it when turned on again?
i had this when i used (Rom Manager) to restart my fone into recovery once, it doesnt correctly follow instruction some times.. however manual CWM usually works.

which ROM you were in before?EXT3 or EXT4?
if you gone back to Stock, u used a smartflash method?did u do the three wipes?switch off the phone, then hold vol down + power key button until you get the second greyish LG logo and then choose wipe data/cache and dalvik (to make a fresh an clean flashing)and reflash the stock ROM...it should be fine then.
hope it helps
from reading the log (as it quickly fly's up the screen) you will see it does this automatically
try nvflash and try to update your recovery.. if your using cwm recovery use 5.0.2
thanks for the help guyz.. its fixed.

For the benefit of everyone. May you share how you fixed your phone?
so after a new update to the cm9 i found my phone a bit slow, so i decided to downgraded it to the latest cm7 version with the matching alf kernel. after the downgrade i found my phone acting very strangely.
after turning it on, the kernel and cm logo goes on, then it turns itself off, then again, again and again until the battery drains. i cant even go into recovery mode, so i cannot use my phone obviously.
can you help me with some advice?
thx

Connect your phone is flashing mode by:
1. Keep ur mobile connected to the pc all the times.
2. Remove the back cover and the battery.
3. Wait for 10-15 seconds.
4. Press and HOLD the back button while putting the battery back in.
5. Launch PCC.
If this didnt work out, try to shortcircuit ur phone(it wont damage the hardware) by a dc charger.
Flash naa ics kernel back, then go to recovery and format data and system then you flash alfs kernel

not going to recovery in alfs &nAa kernel is "IMPOSSIBLE"
Both kernels include recovery so it should go to recovery .......
Reflash kernel / then full wipe {(important)+dalvik & system wipe}
U must always wipe when u upgrade or downgrade form ics/jb (cause whole system is different)

this is what the OP said.....if the phone reboots even before entering recovery then he cannot recovery...
and under some circumstances phone wont enter recovery... one is to be on ics on oxydo kernel and then flash back alfs with the ics rom... try entering recovery.. it will reboot.

Did you update busybox? Also, sclean clears dalvik, so it will take a while for the phone to boot up. If it's stuck, try to pull out the battery and try again. Try it at least 3x. What else did you do besides/in supercharger?
