I'm on 0.6 with bricked kernel. How do I upgrade? Full wipe or just cache and dalvik cache? Assuming bricked kernel will still work...can't see why not

I wipe/delete factory reset and wipe dalvik cache. Flash the zip, then restore data using cwm. It works for me.

I just did wipe cache & dalvik cache, installed the zip and it went OK.
I took a nandroid backup first, just in case, but it seems to be fine.

In cwm, choose advanced restore (in restore and backup), then choose restore data.

Since I can't post in dev forum:
So far I've seen Cyanogenmod9 screenshots on Touchpad only in landscape. Is it possible to use ICS on touchpad in portrait mode? Could somebody with alpha1/2 post a screenshot?

[Q] Wipe for update?

Hi. I'm new at using custom rom and I have a question regarding updates.
I'd successfully flashed my milestone to miui 1.9.9 rom. So if I'll like to update it to 1.9.16, do I still need to do wipes like what I did when I 1st flashed it? Or do I just apply update?
Thanks

Techincally all you need to do is wipe cache partition and dalvik cache before and after flashing (don't forget flashing the baseband as well!). If you have problems, try a full wipe.

Thanks So doing a wipe on the cache partition and dalvik cache, am I correct to say I don't need to do a titanium backup?

No, you shouldn't have to do a backup. Create one just in case anything goes wrong, or you need to do a full wipe.

i957 I randomly myself into a bootloop ?!

Hiiii first post here but anyways,
I have a SGH-I957 ATT LTE version and had filled the hard drive space to maximum... about like 70ish megabytes remaining (I know, stupid). It was running slow and it wouldn't delete full stacks of files for some reason so I restarted it and it got stuck in a bootloop. I've tried booting to recovery and rebooting again and I don't really want to factory wipe.
Any suggestions?? Please help lol
Try clearing cache and dalvik. If that fails clear data factory reset. If that fails odin back to stock

I have tried out this rom myself on OB. It all worked perfectly for me so I just need to ask a few questions. What version? V6 or...?
Quick solutions:
1) Boot into CWM and wipe/restore to factory settings (all your apps and user data will be deleted (its a pain but it usually irons out all the kinks), then wipe cache, then clear dalvik cache.
2) In Rom Manager, click "fix permissions".

Your in the wrong thread.
Use SFT,Clear Data and Cache then goto advanced and clear dalvik. Flash Super User.zip then reboot. If it doesn't work it's time to send it in to the repair shop (after flashing stock ROM ofcourse).
(You have a bit of a lisp there )
Mod can you please move this to the right thread.
I need some more advice.
Is there any other way i can solve this problem?

could it be something to do with my play store?
as after i flash it the version of my play store is version 3.4.
I ever face this problem before.
I remember that time i manage to get it updated to version 3.8 EVERY Thing went fine after that.
But i forgot HOW to get it UPDATE to VERSION 3.8 from version 3.4 (which ALWAYS AUTO-RESTART, whenever i try install anything)
Go to recovery and make a full wipe.
It should be enoguh.
Cheers
