Hi all,
I am doing software development and using my Galaxy Note and an HTC Desire HD for testing on a real device. With the HTC I can get it to stay on whilst I am debugging or plugged into the USB port.
I can't do this with the Galaxy Note and I am finding this to be a bit of a pest for testing.
Anyone know how to get this phone to stay on when connected via USB?
Cheers
Dave...
It's to protect the screen. OLED can have burn in issues.

I did it with Elixir2 from market. It has a status bar widget where you can put different toggles. One of them is the screen time out toggle and you can choose the option "never".
It works fine for me.

Hey guys,
I have a rooted thrill, and when I leave my gps turned on, there is always an indicator at the top of the screen like it is always in use. Anyone having a similar issue with their phone, or have any ideas why it is always running? It seems like it effects my battery life as well. Thanks

Sounds like you have an App running in the background that continually asks for location info.

Hi all,
I've just got my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 a week ago and I'm loving it! Migrating from my old HTC Kaiser to this phone and there's still a lot for me to learn...
Anyway, not sure this has been asked/solved but is there a way for the screen to stay on while it's connected to USB/Charging?
Changing the settings in Settings > Application > Development > USB Debugging doesn't seems to do the trick...
Some help from all the Sifus please?
An option activated on dev phone (Nexus, or Rom from AOSP like Cyanogen ^^)
Samsung didn't activated it, so you can't
Really? That's just too bad...guess I'll have to revert back to setting the Screen Timeout to be longer as a workaround...
I don't know a way to do this on the stock ROM... other than using the Samsung dock
I also missed that feature coming from Desire HD and Flyer!
But now am using widgetsoid and it has a widget switcher that does exactly that, staying awake while charging

You can use the "Screen OFF Timeout" app and tick the "Stay on" option.
The screen will stay on while charging.
Well I'm running cm9 0.5 and I got six axis to work and it connects yet none of the controls work and I got profiles from the right place the only buttons that work are the anolog and the up and down left and right buttons anyway to fix this?
Anyone Know???/
I had the same problem would love to know.

Assuming you're talking about touch profiles, the first thing to check is whether any touches are being sent by the app. The best way to do this is to download 'Touch Test' or similar from the market, connect the controller and activate the touch profile, then run 'Touch Test' and press some buttons on the controller. If any output shows up, it's likely that the profile you're using has been configured for a different control scheme or a device with a different resolution. If no output shows up let me know and I'll see if I can come up with some more possibilities!
^Do what this blessed man says. He is the developer!
Just came in from work I'm going to give this a shot in a few minutes. Will post the results. Thanks for the help.

Hey, i got an even worse problem.. once i use any button on my sixaxis whilst using the active touch profile my phone stops recognizing any touch input and i have to reboot it in order to use it..

i got some news to add:
i enabled the touch indicator of the android system and whenever i touched a button or moved a stick, the sixaxis app seamed to permanently simulate a touch on the screen. that must be the reason for the touchscreen freeze. on the newest cm9 (02012012) i managed to unfreeze it by multitouching around that permanent dot.
if anyone has a solution, plz let me know.
though its not that bad for me since i just wanted to test the active touch profile, bc im getting my transformer prime soon (and afaik there are no issues with sixaxis) i think this occurs on many ppl using cm9 on sgs2, asking for help!
I got my SGN yesterday and it duely upgraded itself out of the box - so I'm running ICS - although it doesn't look like ICS on my tablet?
I've clearly set something - because my SMS messages are now talking to me - as are my appointments. Its getting embarrassing. Other than turning the volume down - where should I switch this off!
Sorry -noob question!
Graham
Turn off TalkBack.
Settings>Accessibility>Talkback
Nope - that's switched off - although I now know about loads of other features I don't want to use either! Thx for trying though.
Settings/language and input/text to speech
Might be switched on... I was laughing when I read your post just thinking how awkward that could be

Thanks for this "Driving Mode" was enabled in the Text-to-speech output section. Thankfully everything seems quiet now! I don't remember switching this on - so either my dementia is kicking in or maybe one of the map apps I've been looking at did it. Thanks again.
G.
Driving mode is activated by charging cable being inserted under certain conditions. It has been known that if the micro USB port on the note gets dirty, this can trigger driving mode to be activated automatically when not plugged in. Keep an eye on it, if it keeps happening, gently clean the USB port with some alcohol and a cotton bud.

recently I found out that some icons of certain apps are distorted others at same point are crisp and clear. I tried other icons at those places but everything is fine.
charging slot is i think damaged as i am not longer able to use USB on the go & cell shows charging without any charger connected sometimes & gets all right afterwards.
I am using cm 10.1 19-06-13 build.
