I love these "leaked" apps from an upcoming update or OS.
Please, for the love of God and the Hate of the Bush Propaganda Regime, please tell me you're all smart enough to know that nothing's ever really "leaked". It's released, people. WTF?
No sir, i dont like it.

Aww, c'mon big guy... it is leaked for the time being, yes? It is not officially released by the big companies... therefore it is leaked... at least for right now at this very second in time. Once ICS comes out these "leaks" will be labeled as "obsolete", because most leaks are betas in the final stages of testing before the real release.
With all that aside... I hear ya. In reality these "leaks" basically are the final versions of what you will see. ICS is only a short period of time from release date. How much different can the official and leaked versions be on such a short notice?
Eh it is beta version used for marketing purposes...nothing worth the fuss over it. Just consider it a taste of the future or like a trailer sort of

ICS is not available in the I9000.
The most current version is Gingerbread 2.3.5.
Ice cream sandwich is dessert which is enjoyed by many people around the earth, it can be made easily by putting vanilla ice cream(any flavour u want) between two soft chocolate biscuits or cookies.
Ps: best served when cold.

The only wonders ice cream sandwich will do to the galaxy s is cause it to lag even more, just like how gingerbread caused it to lag more than when it was on froyo. This is due entirely to the lack of RAM. Both ICS and Gingerbread are RAM hogs, and hence even though the Nexus S will officially get ICS, it will not perform as well as it did on Gingerbread. Sure, the quadrant scores will be higher than ever, but such benchmarks do not take into consideration the RAM, which is the main cause of lag on phones with more than 1GHz clock speed.

I'm running CM7.1 (GB 2.3.7) on i9000 and my phone is blazing fast, previously I was on Froyo stock and it was dreadfully slow and laggy.

Well, afaik ICS has GPU acceleration which of course will give much better performance than now (GB).

To prevent myself from being prejudiced in the future in this forum I shall refrain from making any sarcastic reply. I am shocked at the cynicism shown towards me in some of the replies. Sarcasm covered in the sweet flavour of wit. But oh so not witty at all and certainly not sweet at all as the names of the various versions of Android suggest. Sickly sweet, more like it. There are lesser G_ds than you: There are more stupid people than you, but to treat a person with such disrespect is unbecoming of this forum.
The only person that anything of any interest to say was the person that said the least, "Android History" in the form of a link. This was exactly what I wanted. I thank you, kind sir. Your replies have tainted this forum for me and I shall refrain from using it again. As the saying goes "there are more fish in the sea". Maybe not as good. I am sure there are forums that will show the pleb more respect. Do you know that word?
I have noticed that none of you actually show your proper names. You hide behind these nom de plumes. And you are so smug when people can't see who you are. I wonder why? And "dude" went out in the late 70's, buddy. Get with it. And, as "BHuvan goyal" describes

Ps Darkkid, isn't it better to know a person's name rather than conversing with a pseudonym?
ics source is not released yet, but some sdk ports avaliable now, but the most of is unusable because touch is not working only with 2 fingers. So you can't do anything, just you can see how it looks on your phone.

Well firstly all i wrote was intended for some laughs only and its against the rule of forums to abuse someone.
Secondly if the OP knows even a little bit about forums and if he really wanted to know about ice cream sandwich he could have used search option in forums or Google it wikipedia. Now i know the OP will say that 'i searched about ice cream sandwich but how will i know its something related to android?' , then the OP should have at least applied some brain and searched 'Samsung galaxy s ice cream sandwich' and he would have easily got some articles related to android ice cream sandwich 4.0.
still if the OP got hurt then i am sorry for my attempt at a little bit of humour .

Brian, your expectations on the internet are going too high, on a thread like this, you are lucky to not have a douchebag telling you to GTFO with n00bie questions and that.
Your question in XDA, Its like going to a big auto shop and ask what is a Toyota Hilux.
Some kind people will answer you, and some will ask if you are not from this planet.
Always use google for simple questions, you can find better answers easier and faster.
If things get complicated, search on this forums, or post if you don't find the answers.

Thanks for the info. Possibly this thread will be closed soon, but anyway, LG posted 3rd Quarter 2012 for ICS P970. That's just disgusting. Most of us maybe don't even have the phone for the "3rd Quarter 2012" (which maybe in the real world is 2013-2014 Christmas, if they don't stop development "for technical reasons like few RAM or something".
We are lucky we finally had Cyanogenmod development. Even if CM9 takes long, it will come months before LG official ICS.

I got my turbo a week after release, and i love it...i read all these articles who's getting lollipop and when....If motorola is updating all their old phones from 2012, and us with their flagship phone have yet to get it, and there releasing phones this month with 5.0 on them to INDIA of all places, guys Turbo prolly isnt going to see it for awhile if ever...This phone IMO was like verizons ellipsis tablet, released with one update and no further information lol yeah we all want a bug free OS, but to do a 3 year old phone and not your flagship phone?

Motorola gets a really good share of profits only cuz of its sales of Moto G and Moto E in India! And please oh please... I hope u are not being racist!
And there are so many threads discussing this man.. If u said you actually having been reading XDA regularly u would have known better not to clutter the General Forum... What can people at XDA do about this? How can posting here help? Only Motorola can help, contact their customer care or through social media for your answer!!

These threads are tiring.
In that VoLTE is natively supported in 5.1, did you not consider that may be why there was a hold up, because Verizon wanted that?
I'll bet you 1,000.00 dollars we get Lollipop. Are you game? Post your paypal if so. I could use the money from an easily won bet
Edit: And yeah, that India comment was misplaced.
Yeah looks like its confirmed that the 5.1 HD Voice does mean it works with Verzion VoLTE (I wasn't sure based on the screenshot they had). Seems very possible when Motorola learned about this they held off on their 5.01 or whatever with HD Voice added in to just release the version with the code in it already. Which is a good thing. Because had they released 5.0.1 or whatever a couple of weeks ago, you would have people whining for 5.1. Hopefully this means it will hit the Turbo in a short time.
I made a post about the Nexus 6 coming to Verizon with 5.1 already on it and suggested that the DT might be jumping straight to 5.1 around the time the Nexus 6 drops on Verizon. My hit or miss post doesn't seem so irrelevant now. lol

Agreed. The phone is still fairly new and considered a current flagship phone for Motorola (Next to the Nexus 6 but that's Google's baby as well so I don't think it can count as Motorola's flagship entirely). Getting back to my point, saying that a flagship phone is not going to get an update to "the latest and greatest in android" is just asking for someone to talk badly about you and even more so a cry for attention. Which is something we don't need.
What I mean by India is a third world country of all places before here where it launched. I hope I am wrong but like my tablet I went into Verizon was was talked to by a salesman to go with this newest device it's a flagship device so I did and the updates are where? I left the Galaxy line with no issues great reception speedy updates... My tablet was the same thing a verizon exclusive updated once and forgotten.
What I'm saying is why update stuff that's old when after two years most people upgrade? My flagship store, I'm there daily to make sure it's running good, clean and people want to come back the old store has a customer base like the old phones they update them when it's time to update them things.

Don't worry about it. It's just kinda tense here sometimes, and we're all kinda surly and curmudgeonly because we seem to be kept in the dark regarding just about everything related to this device. Everyone has or had certain expectations from it and the support that we were expecting by Motorola and/or Verizon, and it's nowhere near as exciting as we'd hoped.

It's obvious we will get lollipop and now that 5.1 was released looks like that's what Motorola was waiting for and or the nexus 6 coming soon to vzw. Patience is a virtue and now that we have about 5 months now without lollipop then let's keep waiting. Better having a less bugs version than getting a rushed update of 5.0.1 or 5.0.2

Wrong forum. Dumb question, no offense, if you were really an android user you'd know there's no android m, not yet anyway, maybe Google will announce it on the i/o 2015 but I doubt it
android m
How is it the wrong forum it states its for nexus 6 the phone I'm on and all our tech sites in aus are reporting that there is an Android m currently in progress, I wanted to know if a third party developer has taken it on yet. And google now also is flashing stories for android M in my feed for the last 4 days.
Android M may be announced at Google I/O end of this month but you won't see it pushed to AOSP until November/December most likely....so you won't see any developer other than Google with any kind of "M" development for a while.
Google's developers have started work
