Can I send my note for repair in the US? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the title says, I'm wondering if I can send my note in for a Samsung warranty repair even though I am in the United States. I ask because I could only find a support page for Latin America and I am not sure if the warranty is valid in a country where Samsung does not sell international versions of their phones.
Thanks for the help

I'm afraid not, it is only limited to the country where you bought it. you can still have it repaired though, but you need to pay for the charges

Samsung has "blocks" of warranty service. For Europe and North America - there are separate blocks. Extract from Samsung support:
"Samsung Electronics Ltd supports a product purchased in Europe if it has an EU Bloc Warranty. This warranty is present where the top of the product warranty card clearly states 'European Bloc'. If the product is purchased in another part of the globe then Samsung may attempt a repair. Samsung Electronics Europe Ltd cannot guarantee the outcome."
So basically they "may but don't have to" repair European device in the US.

Absolutely not....you will need to send it back to the country from which it came if you need to get it fixed. I was in the same boat a while back with "The Monster" kernel fiasco...I just ended up buying a new phone instead...which actually turned out to be better than my last.

[Q] Samsung claims I have the China model? Do I?

I called Samsung just to see what kind of a Warranty I have (I'm in the US.) and they asked for my model number so I said, "GT-N7000", and without any other questions I was told I have the Chinese model. Is this right? I bought it off Amazon. I was pretty sure I had to the Polish model because my original firmware is LB1.
N7000 is for International version
I9220 is for China version
I717 is for ATT version
Ha, I guess she had no idea what she was talking about.

Typical Americans
xD I kid, I kid
Well, unless you bought a third party warranty for it, being in the U.S., you don't have a warranty.

Samsung doesn't sell International galaxy note N-7000 in US.US only gets I-717 Galaxy note thru AT&T.And No samsung device has International warranty I guess. So If you own a N7000 in US,No official warranty from samsung.
I bought my N7000 in China ( not the 92xxx) it has an international warranty.
It is explicitly mentioned in the dealers invoice and the attachments.
Only the 92xx doesn't have the international warranty.
I am always insisting on this, as I am living in China but have to spend quite some time in Europe, too. So I want to make sure I do have a chance for repair if something happens.

Warranty = training people (service center) on the maintenance of that Model. Why would Samsung spend money in training service personnel in the US if it does not even sell the model.
International warranty is something that Samsung never honors on its phone. If you bought the phone with international warranty it means either the warranty is provided by a third party or you have been cheated by the seller
Indeed buy an iphone if you want international warranty

[Q] Warranty in US and Canada

Hi there, International Galaxy Note community. I have a question I'd like you ask about when purchasing the International Note for use in North America.
Is there a valid warranty for the international Note if I purchase it in a different country and then use it in North America? Specifically Canada. If there is a valid warranty for the Note in Canada, can someone provide me with the terms of the warranty when in Canada?
Thank you for your help, International Note community.

Good luck with that one....
I have just spent the last 3 months searching for usb ports and mainboards, repair shops in Canada, Europe and the U.S., Ebay for for broken N7000s and getting things working on Bell's network. And as of 15 minutes ago, I'm finally done fixing the last detail on the Note, and its back to normal. But what an ordeal it was...
Somebody else can tell you about the warranty. But you're probably on your own with this one. So your options if you have a hardbrick;
Search threads for a successful recovery..
Jtag repair...http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-galaxy-note/
Ebay (like me..) for a broken screen N7000, which I used to replace my the motherboad and USB port. Mine was $265...
I would say hunt for a M/B. But the search was long, with many dead ends (Europe) and language barriers (India and Asia). And there are repair shops in Europe, but no shop will ship a phone via air (Thanks to 9/11).
Hope this cuts down on some of your search to repair your Note.

Oh, no. I don't have a damaged Note. I was just looking to purchase one since I'm somewhere in Asia and have the possibility of picking up the international version. I just wanted to know about possible repair options if it ever did break.
So pretty much if I purchase a Note and it breaks down one day, then I am on my own. Correct?

Buying Note 8 in USA during upcoming visit question

Hi
Visiting las vegas in a few weeks and considering buying a Note 8. I can order off Amazon.com (I have a US account) and thinking of getting shipped to a locker. Will be $798 for unlocked international version. 64gb version in black.
Or is there a cheaper alternate? I know if I buy instore I have to pay the local tax, but dont think I do if I order via Amazon as just checked before pressing the complete button and its Nil tax.
Any advice appreciated.
where are you travelling from?
US version is snapdragon and if you want root the exynos is the better option
I think it is wiser to get a device in your home country, in case of needing to claim warranty, it would be infinitely easier for you, besides, in USA only the little 64 gb snapdragon version is available, if you are interested about avoiding taxes, be aware that those taxes you would pay in your country at an official distribuitor will give peace of mind and warranty
Version listed is SM-N950F/DS* which is the one in Europe on Amazon in USA which is not Snapdragon I gather.
