Greed Corp - LG Revolution

Anyone else having trouble running Greed Corps game on their LG Revo. First time I opened it, it rebooted my phone. And the 2nd time, it worked but it was so damn laggy that it was unplayable. I know the game will run fine on this phone cause my buddy plays it on his LG Revo and it runs smooth. My phone has just been lagging out like crazy lately. I think it might have something to do with having my internal storage pretty much full. I have a couple hundred MBs left.
But anyways. I just wanted to see if anyone else has issues playing greed corps.

love it on the iOS
Bought it without knowing what the hell it was. Über-gay. Ha. Not that got anything against that. Just pointing it out. (Yeah, I go by Mr. Obvious).
It could use some help when loading screens. Kinda slow, but hey, other than that it is great. Fun, straightforward, smooth gameplay. How about an online leaderboard?

Lags quite a bit on my galaxy s captivate running 2.2.
After a couple of restarts it began to run a bit better but there's still quite a bit of lag, for example when dashing through a star.
Overall, doesn't seem nearly as polished as the iOS version. My old second gen iPod touch would run this game perfectly.
I hope the developers actually support the app and iron out all the bugs, not just forget about it after the initial release.

Runs well on my Galaxy S (Android 2.3.3).
It also runs quite slow and FC's every now and then on my Galaxy S 2.2.1 at 1.5Ghz... I was a little disappointed. My friend with a G2 with CM7 at 1.57Ghz could barely run it as well. The funny thing is that it ran smooth as could be on my girlfriend's Aria running 2.2 @806Mhz when her phone barely runs Angry Birds... When it runs it is fun though.
runs a little laggy on galaxy s 4g but great game i hope they come out with more I went and bought it after I saw this post.

I wish i could still do it, and hopefully in time I won't have reasons to not do so on my end. This was even before RUA so I never noticed it. Hoping for an update .. for more than a few issues.

Thunderbolt or LG revolution

So long story short my fascinate has turned into a thunderbolt and now I'm wondering if I should return it to get the revolution that comes out tomorrow. I took the thunderbolt right away since my favorite devs are already working on this phone, but it appears that the phone isn't very stable.
I haven't experience random reboots yet even after the phone applied a update right out of the box....I have experience some issues with the 4g staying connected although it seems to fix when I turn on and off the mobile data.
So I've already dealt with a binged phone before since I had the fascinate and that was fixed in the first month, my question is are there any other bolt users thinking the same thing after using the bolt?
My sig says no. sorry. nuh uh. nope.

Google has nothing to do with that, VZW is the reason that Bing is becoming the new search engine for their phones. Why they would do something like that is beyond all of us...
But to answer the OP post, both phones are very much alike. There is a strong dev community for the TB already, where with the LG it's questionable. I haven't read up much about it but I don't know if it comes with a locked bootloader or not. If so, TB all the way, if not, I would say it's all about your personal preference.

There are 500 Million reasons.
According to the Register, Microsoft has paid Verizon Wireless $500 million in a five-year search deal to make Bing its official search engine on most smart phones, like the BlackBerry Storm II.

from what i've seen, a dev community for the revolution has been nonexistent. i can't find one anywhere
Ok, I traded the Thunderbolt for the Revolution. I do not recommend the Revolution at all. First, it takes forever to charge (its about 25% as fast as the thunderbolt to charge). The default keyboard is garbage. It doesn't have the new Android market (uses a version of the market that was updated months ago) and is missing some apps that are normally on the market (in my case, it was missing one that I had paid for). There are some compatibility issues with some apps. It also lags occasionally( often lags when ending a phone call)
The major downfall for the Thunderbolt is its battery life, but that can be fixed with rooting and installing a custom rom. The Thunderbolt is a much better Android than the Revolution. The only thing the Revolution has going for it is that it comes preloaded with Netflix.
I will be trading in the Revolution within the 2 week period and trying out a new Android. Anyone know if Verizon has a limit on how many times you can trade a phone in within 2 weeks before they cut you off. If they don't have a limit, I will keep trading it in until the Bionic finally comes out.
I simply don't understand why anyone would chose the Revo when the Thunderbolt exists. The Charge I could understand for its screen and battery, but the Revo is inferior on almost every spec. It is a phone that was released out of sequence.

Hmm... tried clem/calk combo and cm7 and no luck either. Looks like its not working on many tablets right now. Heard that it works on xoom but it got no clerification weather it was a wifi only or had 3g. If it requires a network connection we might be out of luck.
Have the same issue on my CM7 gtablet. Checking the comments in market it seems it's because Zenonia 3 looks for an IMEI number. WIFI only so no IMEI, hence crash at start up.
If IMEI is required then the dev is out of the touch with android. I'm also seeing that they are trying to move to a pay to play system which is much harsher than games like shadow era or gun bros. In those games you can get ahead quick if you buy in but the top gear is purchasable with earned in game money. With Z3 you have to pay real cash just to get scrolls to identify item drops. Sux, I loved everything they have made so far and would have paid 3.99 for it(if it worked) just like I'd did with Z1 &Z2 when they came out.

Whoot! I have read into this. Google Play is a vision by Google to streamline connectivity of devices. New phones that are coming out are going to very much designed like the iphone, internal memory, internal battery. This is because Google has a cloud service, and most devices will have 16-32 GB memory, and that is it. Sony has the new Ion coming out and has made arrangements with dropbox for 50GB of cloud storage. The cloud is in. On the phone side, manufacturers know we want the latest and greatest, which is why there is a 6-9 month shelf life on most devices, and we upgrade every 18-24 months anyway.
So Google wants you to know that anything you have on your phone, you can have on your tablet or PC, much like Apple. And in order to do that, they could no longer call it "Market" as the name indicates that you can only buy products. With Play, you can buy, but store in the cloud and play the items on your phone and PC. Which is popular because Windows also does it. And with the fear of Windows closing in on Android, you bet that Android/Google is going to anything to keep an edge.

Lol 2 things you said that really cracked me up.
1. Google had cloud storage first so they're not doing anything "like apple"
2. Have you seen sales stats recently? Windows phones are nowhere near catching up to Android lol.
But yes I do agree that most smartphones nowadays are getting built like the iPhone which I completely hate. Why would you not want a removeable battery? Why would you not want external storage? Just makes no sense to me.

Correct they did cloud first. The article I read was saying they want consumers to have a better idea that your goodies are seamlessly assessable between your devices. I knew that, but I gather that not everyone knows that. And another article said that windows mobile will be a giant by the end of the year. I disagree there too, but you don't know what they got up their sleeve.

official ICS so crappy and slow

am using the official ICS and OMG its so stupid!
-it takes up to 8 seconds to open an app
-it drains my battery(8 hours maximum)
-it lags so much and some apps just end up crashing every now and then
-cant tether
-one cant manually toggle between 2G/3G/4G!
-is the processor of this phone really a duo core??????
Is there a better ROM??? or should i just sell off the phone??
Did you do a complete wipe/factory restore when you moved to ICS? I started out that way, and the ROM has always felt fine, and I believe there are reports from other users that had their gripes resolved when they restored from scratch.
I did a wipe but still the rom is so lagging!
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
i had some previous ICS experiences but you should try a few tricks. first, hold down the HOME KEY for about 3 seconds. an APP manager opens. you may have lots of apps that didnt close. hit STOP ALL.
Also notice that you can quickly pop between apps this way. you can kill an app by swiping its image sideways.
Second, in your drop down bar, organize your icons to have the WIFI and DATA buttons quickly available. The DATA is a really battery drainer. if your not using it, turn it off. if your not using wifi, turn it off. your battery can last 2+ days with both turned off.
With Gingerbread, i had issues with the wifi not connecting after the phone was on for a day or so. all that seems to be fixed with ICS. I used to have to reboot the phone 2-3 times a day to fix this. I rarely ever reboot it now.
If you decide to sell off the phone, i know at&t will give you $100 for it as a trade in. I think the used phones are going for about $90 on ebay now
hope that helps!
I've used many devices with ICS and this one byfar takes the tard cake.
I am having the same thing here. seems like getting slower after using for few days.

I recently got this phone and have been expirimenting with the official stock rom while rooted. It is offensively slow and I believe lg recruited satan to invent the rom and make me kill myself. Either way, a few things that actually worked for me are the following:
Startup manager from the android market, disable all lg/ startup applications under system. This singlehandedly decreased my boot time by about a minute and makes everything much smoother.
rescan media root from the market, use it to disable media scanning. For some reason, the media scanner on stock ics sucks for me, and makes the entire phone unusable. Disabling it with this app also increased my boot time and made the phone run better.
V6 supercharger with kick ass kernelizer and patched services.jar and unledded minfrees. Google v6 supercharger, its the first result.
I still have problems like op describes, sometimes the phone will freeze for four to eight seconds while doing something and takes time to catch up to itself. Not sure why, or how to fix it.
Are you sure about that, I actually flashed ICS on my Thrill and It rocks!!!!!!
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda premium
If you are sure it is not a bad flash, try Supercharger and Ultimatic .jar tools mod over in General Android Dev and Hacks like teebuddy said. Kills lag like no other mod. Also uninstall unneeded apps to free up memory. This phone is 3+ yrs old now.
Or use a better optimized custom ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39269819
lol glad I am not the only one.
This phone is a piece of garbage.
My first visit to the forum in months.
I signed up to install ICS official hoping for improvements. It brought me some features. Did it make the phone better? Nope, probably worse.
Phone is laggy and my internal storage isn't even full.
Sometimes opening an app takes 4-6 seconds, other times an app freezes and the buttons on the bottom of the phone do not respond.
Sometimes when in an app it goes black and then takes forever to respond again.
I upgrade to ICS and lose tethering which was a nice feature. I would rather lose 3D which is the biggest gimmick ever.
This phone is beyond pathetic! I have an iPhone 4 which is a single core and runs smooth as BUTTER. I prefer Android OS but LG Optimus 3D sucks.
There is no hope for this pathetic phone now. Once my contract expires next year I will try to sell it.
It is rather ironic that you are locked into a contract

Not sure what you are talking about.
I got the phone in 2011 when it came out. There weren't many options. The contract is 3 years, so it expires summer 2014.
Not sure where you live but contracts were 3 years and only changed to 2 years this July. Anyone before July still has to finish their contract or they can cancel.
The phone sucks period. It is worse than my friends Samsung Galaxy S Captivate and my Uncle's iPhone 4.

That is also ironic.
It's taken a lot of digging to actually find other people complaining about the lagginess of the device.
I'm currently on stock AT&T ICS after custom flashing it god knows how many times. Super-bricked to restored.
I find the current ICS implementation crazy for how little room it leaves on the device.
I've been able to get the device running a TAD smoother by disabling (Yay ICS disable feature) most of the AT&T junk. The reason the device lags so much, especially compared to other devices, is squarely on the lack of RAM. It has 256MB compared to other devices (like the Evo 3D) which have 512MB.
I know the CPU itself isn't crappy, because games like Asphalt 6 look AND RUN fantastic. If it was garbage, the game would run like garbage.
So anything you can do on the device to prevent apps running in the background will help. Otherwise it's spending a LOT of time closing apps because so much of the RAM is used.
